- We flew to Tokyo and for our first day back we went camera shopping and bought the Canon EOS R6 Mark II! We had fun with this travel vlog exploring a bit of Tokyo while also unboxing, testing, and fumbling around with the settings on our new camera.

I did buy my camera body new both times (they also have new options there), but certainly buying used electronics is always a risk! Luckily my used lens has been fine so far! 😅

Also I had a dumb moment where half the video I was like “wow their camera is really dark” but in reality it was just because my phone brightness was turned almost all the way down 😅😅

Glad you enjoyed the camera gear part! I was very unsure about including it and then I was like eh, I love watching amateurs try out camera gear myself. 😂 we’re still fumbling around a bit with the slightly different controls and settings but we’ll get there!

The best camera store!!
Guys, while you're in Japan, I recommend going to Hiroshima and/or Nagasaki where the atomic bombings happened in WW2. It's definitely worth going learning about the tragic history. I also recommend going to the island of Okinawa. One of the blue zones where people have longer and healthier life.😊
Thank you so much for your recommendations!! 🙏 On our last visit we were lucky enough to visit Hiroshima for a week (our hard drive corrupted and we lost the videos, so no posts about it here though). It was a very powerful place and I am so glad we went. Hopefully more people visit to learn more.
It would be interesting to visit Nagasaki as well.
We’re also super strongly considering Okinawa. We can’t decide if we should go in late April, or leave Japan and visit Okinawa in the summer before we leave. Is there a better time of year for it you think? Especially for the diving?

I think both IS and digital IS on were the best.
I agree!! The IS/IBIS alone is whackkkkk with the wobbles still. 😆
Hopefully they continue to improve it! We did one more firmware update that they just released soon after this was made, but they didn’t mention if they improved it further or not. I guess we’ll see in the coming videos! 😆 I’ve been filing IS on, Digital IS on!
@@IfWeGoTo What is amazing to me is how well the iPhone's video stablisation software does things. It's like on a gimbal. When I hold it it wobbles like crazy and when played back it is smoooooooooooth!.
I've not seen any cameras with that level of built in IBIS from any systems.
@@RaymondwLin Right?? It is so impressive to see how far they have come!!
Haven't really had that level of digital stability from dedicated cameras either (with the exception of gopro, theirs is even better than the iphone!)... I am sure it's coming! Sony does pretty well with Catalyst Browse, but that requires extra processing and time hahaha.

The IS modes work as advertised. They definitely make a big difference in the judder department.
We have been pretty impressed so far! Still learning the camera, but it has been fun! I will have to pay attention to the judder improvements! Canon is so good I didn't even notice them on our R!!

This was filmed on the 1.2.0 update, we had not realized that 1.3.0 had been released just before this video! So we updated it and are now filming on 1.3.0. I need to do some tests, but I do think they improved the wobble issue even further!

Since you have an Iphone you should get a Suica in your wallet for traveling in Japan, that way you don't have to buy paper tickets.
