That white, noodle-y stuff in your bento box is called "ito Konjac." It's a low-fat food, so you're good to go! Konjac is a cool underground plant that's ground up and turned into noodle-like stuff. It's low in fat and super popular in Japanese cooking, showing up in all sorts of dishes.
FYI: The total number of Tokyo station Shinkansen(bullet train) line platforms is 10. Out of 10、six platforms are allocated for Tokaido Shinkansen(truck No. 14 ~19) and the rest 4 platforms for three different lines such as Tohoku, Hokuriku and Jyoetsu shinkansens(tuck No. 20~23).
Yesterday, I watched and left a comment on your last video and I am very happy to have come across your videos again today!😊💕 The black string-like food in the woman's lunch box is called hijiki, a traditional Japanese food that was already eaten in the Nara period (710-794). Hijiki is a type of seaweed, which is dried, watered down, fried in oil and then stewed in soy sauce, sugar and broth with fried tofu, soy beans, shiitake mushrooms and chicken meat. Drying makes it easier to preserve for a longer period of time and increases nutrition and flavour. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamins and dietary fibre, making it a very healthy food. The high fibre content makes it a particularly good food for people with constipation problems. Next to hijiki, a whitish, string-like food picked up with chopsticks is called shirataki. Shirataki was created in the Kanto region during the Edo period in the process of making konjac. Shirataki is made up of 97% water and 3% konjac, so it is characterised by its very low calorie content. It is sometimes used as a diet food among Japanese women. It is recommended for people (especially women) who are concerned about calories. In Japan, konjac is loved as an ingredient in "nabe-ryori" (hot pot dishes) and "oden" (oden), which are often eaten mainly during the cold season. As with the previous video, the explanations are very detailed and easy to understand, which I think will be very useful for people travelling to Japan in the future. I had a look at your channel, and I thought it was a great idea that you have travelled all over the world. The explanation of the ekiben (how it warms up when you pull the string), the historical information when explaining the Shinkansen, the shape of the lead car to avoid sonic booms when entering a tunnel, the explanation of the toilets in the car, etc. were all perfectly explained. I am very much looking forward to the next video!😉👍
Ticket machines have an English language option. Top right of screen. I just left Kyoto a couple days ago. Jetlag...🤪 Everyone should ride the Shinkansen once...low cost airlines cost less.😁
If the headlight of the bullet train is white, it is the lead car and if it is red, it is the last car. You used it in reverse in two places in the video. I think you should use it correctly because it confuses the viewers.
12:57 this train model and particular line's speed is 280 km/h max, not 320 km/h. For 320 km/h max, you've to go northwards out of Tokyo, not towards Osaka.
The language choice is just a user interface, so it doesn't matter if you change it. So you can even print your ticket in English to make your trip even easier!
@@adamsjay212 I'm Japanese, so I haven't tried this method, but if you access the URL in the description, select the date and time and destination from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo, and then select Nozomi, you should be able to see the price! By the way, there are unreserved seats, reserved seats, and green seats (first class seats) on the Shinkansen, and the prices are different for each, so I recommend checking♪ You can also purchase tickets at the station, so it's important to check the prices on the Internet in advance.😊😊 Please let me know if you have any other questions! I always buy my SHINKANSEN tickets on the spot with a machine. They take cash or credit card. It takes less than 2 minutes if you know where you're heading.
We were concerned about being confused at the station, however, the online booking was so simple! We were happy we booked in advance, just in case 😍
@ShevandDev what is the website to book online please?

this is "Shirataki" .
"Shirataki" is noodle made from the starch of devil’s tongue.
This was an exceptional video.
Congratulations Shev and Dev, just another 40K to reach half a million subscribers, keep it up 👍👍👍
Thank you so much! almost there haha 😉
big fan from nepal ❤
Hello! Hope you enjoy the video 😍
That is super interesting and very cool! Thank you for letting us know! It even tasted like noodles, i had no idea it was a plant! 🤩
Congratulations to you guys for your new remarkable video today’s from Tokyo, heading to Osaka, Japan this new week in April of 2024❤❤❤
Thank you Theo!
FYI: The total number of Tokyo station Shinkansen(bullet train) line platforms is 10. Out of 10、six platforms are allocated for Tokaido Shinkansen(truck No. 14 ~19)
and the rest 4 platforms for three different lines such as Tohoku, Hokuriku and Jyoetsu shinkansens(tuck No. 20~23).
ahhh thats good to know! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for coming to Osaka.
Can't wait to bring out the Osaka video! Coming soon 😍
Hi, could you explain why the departure monitor showed 'Destination Hakata' for Nozomi 31 when you bought a ticket to Osaka?
The Shinkansen they were on was bound for Hakata, but was scheduled to stop at Shin-Osaka on the way, so I assume they used that.🥰
New subscriber🙋🏽♀️ Looking to go to Japan in October. Did you find many vegetarian options in general?
Hello! We didn't actively look but i am sure there are plenty of options 😍
Yesterday, I watched and left a comment on your last video and I am very happy to have come across your videos again today!😊💕
The black string-like food in the woman's lunch box is called hijiki, a traditional Japanese food that was already eaten in the Nara period (710-794).
Jetlag...🤪
Everyone should ride the Shinkansen once...low cost airlines cost less.😁

If the headlight of the bullet train is white, it is the lead car and if it is red, it is the last car. You used it in reverse in two places in the video. I think you should use it correctly because it confuses the viewers.
All ticket machines are multilingual. On very top of their screens, I can see "English" button even on this UA-cam.
12:57 this train model and particular line's speed is 280 km/h max, not 320 km/h. For 320 km/h max, you've to go northwards out of Tokyo, not towards Osaka.
We would love to head North! 😍
Hey shev and dev, please come back here in the Philippines 🇵🇭, we miss you 😢
We miss you too!! Always want to get back to the Philippines 😍
Impressive train... The Gautrain in SA is the only thing on time 🤞
hahaha yes! We hope they can expand and one day have cross-country travel, Imagine getting to Cape Town via bullet train in under 2 hours 🤯
@@ShevandDev 👌enjoy you two...
Try the Hello Kitty train next!!!
The language choice is just a user interface, so it doesn't matter if you change it.
So you can even print your ticket in English to make your trip even easier!
Thank you! 😍
Enjoy ur stay in osaka
Thank you so much!
May Allah SWT bless you and your family from Pakistan 🙂
Great explore
thank you!!
Which train has the least amount of stops? Me and my friends are going to Japan in October from Osaka to Tokyo.
We recommend taking the Nozomi train from Osaka to Tokyo, which has fewer stops!😊
@@あじゃぱー公認参謀 how much are the fares?
@@adamsjay212 I'm Japanese, so I haven't tried this method, but if you access the URL in the description, select the date and time and destination from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo, and then select Nozomi, you should be able to see the price! By the way, there are unreserved seats, reserved seats, and green seats (first class seats) on the Shinkansen, and the prices are different for each, so I recommend checking♪ You can also purchase tickets at the station, so it's important to check the prices on the Internet in advance.😊😊 Please let me know if you have any other questions! Enjoy Japan!🎉

I think the bento noodles are not noodles but konjac😊

It does add to the excitement levels too haha

Hello, I enjoyed watching your video. After I got on the train, I put my suitcase in the oversized luggage area. Did you make a reservation? It's free to use, but you need to make a reservation. And you will be assigned a seat right next to it.

Since it probably hasn't been mentioned, I'll write it. Nozomi means hope.
