Love reading the comments almost as much as I do watching the vlog. So great to see you interact with so many of your followers. We've never had an interaction, but I feel like I could walk up to you at any event and you'd make time even to just say hello. Your humbleness and gratitude for your fans really makes you one of the best personalities on UA-cam that I can think of. Super happy for your success at the tables, and I look forward to what you have in store for us. When you win, we all win
I gotta say that discovering your channel has been one of the highlights of the year for me ( might sound kinda sad but it is what it is) Hope you're having great holidays Brad, and i wish you the best going forward!
i just like how down to earth and real brad has been throughout his whole journey. One of my top 5 poker idols for sure. hope to see you on the tables one day.
I really appreciate the time stamp in the upper right! It makes it easier to understand how often you play a hand and gives rookies like me a more realistic feel of the game.
I notice a lot of dealers knocking down stacks and pushing the 'pile' towards you. I'm not sure if it looks bigger because it takes up more felt shoving the pile towards you or maybe moving stacks and keeping them intact is difficult.
Brad, I have been watching your blog for almost a year now and I love them. I noticed the Healdsburg Tribune on the wall behind you and had to leave a comment. I lived in that area (Santa Rosa, Guerneville and Sebastopol) for few years and loved it. Hoping to see you continue to run good until December 31 and bust $70,000, good luck.
Thanks Randy. Yeah I grew up in Santa Rosa and that's where my parents are still living. I actually just drove back to LV from there today. If you zoom in on that newspaper, there's a picture of me with two other guys. We all won a satellite into the WSOP Main Event in 2010 from River Rock, back when it still had a poker room.
Wow. Started watching you in the beginning and haven’t been on UA-cam really in awhile and now you’re over 500k subs and playing big stakes?? Congrats Brad!
Thanks Jonathan. The high stakes sessions are always some of my favorites to play and make videos out of. Be sure to check them out if you get the chance.
It's so funny when I pull up your video Brad, I automatically like it.....then I go to like it after the video but the deed is already done. Thank you for your amazing content!
Brad, thanks again for all you do. I appreciate your hand analysis very much. It has helped me become a better poker player. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the East Coast.
Hey Brad! Happy Holidays. A few vlogs ago you showed your friend's bar in Larkfield. I recognized the banner immediately. I stop in for breakfast at Norm's in the back corner occasionally. Popped my head into the bar one day to look around. Nice place and the girl said they serve breakfast too. Congrats on your year. Keep up the good work.

Tron proves, once again, that I have never, over more time than I’d like to admit at live tables, seen anyone limp/reraise with less than AK, KK, AA. I always wonder why they do it, but I guess Brad proved why! 😂
Thanks man. This session was from the end of November. I'm a little behind so I actually went a little over 20% of the goal with my December sessions that I still need to make videos for.
I can never get enough of your videos! I’m a college student with not enough money to play at a casino, so I have to live my poker life through you. It’s awesome watching
I feel your pain. I was in the same situation a few years ago (I’m 29), so I got a table and some chips and started a weekly or twice weekly game. I’d invite people over, byob, and that was like my job for a couple years. Think about it. Downside is hosting can be complicated/cumbersome, but for me it was worth it
@@ramsayburch6738 I play with my friends every now and again to have fun, we just do dealers choice for games, with a $5 buy-in, and 20 cent ante for every game we play. We play for fun, not really increasing bet size, or having the mindset of “I want to punish hard” It’s nothing like proper Texas holdem tables but it satisfies the itch
@@MurkTempers that’s exactly how I started. Then we expanded it to allowing buy ins up to $25 and no limit on the number of buy ins; that really got it going. Like you said, we just did it for fun, not to punish people; however, some players (probably you) are just better than their competition. This advantage led to some decent spending money for me, not that that was my sole motivation. 3:45 is an incredible example of why limping is (almost) always not a good play. If somebody raised even 15 brad in the BB would have folded instantly and had no chance to make a boat with 9 5
Hey brad, was wondering if you could do a video on calculating pot odds like when you say "i'm getting almost 3 to 1 on a call here" i think it could help step up a lot of your viewers game. Can't wait to watch this one too good luck in the new year!
I think, someone correct me, it’s just the ratio of what you have to call vs what the pot is. So if there’s 100$ in the pot and it’s 25$ to call, you’re getting 4:1, meaning you’re essentially risking 1$ to potentially win 4$. It’s a quick risk/reward calculation.
Yeah pot odds is just: Amount in the pot/amount you have to pay So 400 in the pot and you have to put in 100 more is 4:1 pot odds (I.e. for every £ you pay you stand to win £4 on top) There’s also implied pot odds where you can attempt to include earnings on future streets which is a bit more complex
There are definitely some high stakes sessions I've made vlogs from where I call light. Sometimes I was right, sometimes I was wrong. When I'm hosting an event, like in this video, people tend to try and bluff me a little more frequently it feels like, or at least in my head. Occasionally I level myself. It also is more fun for the vlog if I call so the hand gets to showdown and viewers are able to see what the opponent had. I should probably reel it in a little more though.
@@BradOwenPoker man sorry I missed this reply! I definitely get where you’re coming from there. You have way more to consider hand to hand compared to everyone else at the table. I mentioned the stakes purely because I’ve experienced kindve an “f’it” feeling when playing low stakes and end up making calls lighter because in the grand scheme of things, it seems cheap. Regardless, love the content and really appreciate the reply!
Hey Brad, recently got into your content, loving binge watching the vlog! I’ve only ever played live small buyin tournaments. I’m itching for some cash games but not sure how different the play is.
