Brad I try to come up with different superlatives because you have continued to raise the bar! Your breakdown is incredible, along with your emotions that are attached to it! You have the IT factor that connects with your viewers! You work very hard to produce this amazing content! I'm very appreciative of the positive impact it has had on me whenever I watch your videos! Thank you Brad!
Hey Brad! As someone who does not play poker or understand every little situation, I greatly appreciate you explaining the situations and why you make the certain moves you do. It's super interesting as a general fan!
I always really like seeing these types of comments. It's nice to know that even people who don't necessarily play still enjoy the videos. Thanks Nick.
@@BradOwenPokersame, the entertainment value of your videos is really high as well, on top of that I feel that if I ever were to play poker I’d be a lot better than I think because of you! PS loved the 5-1 comment about the WC 2014, that game is ingrained in my brain after the brutal defeat in the 2010 finals (Dutchmen here)
Love your content Brad! I’ve learned a lot from you. Plan on testing out my luck in Vegas October 8th-11th when I’m there for the packer raiders game. Wish me luck and maybe I’ll run into you. 😊
Brad, I think I’ve watched every video of yours the past 4 years. It is unbelievable how you always keep me on my toes every time! I played in the ccg tourney at the max in Mccook, IL 3 years ago and busted right before you rotated to my table. You have to come back out here sometime soon ❤
Low stakes recreational player here. Really appreciated your "take shots, go to tables where your hourly is the highest" comment in the last video. Saw a 2/5 table at my local cardhouse that looked really good and took a shot and ended up winning 100 bbs in just over an hour. Appreciate the videos Brad! Hope to get a shot at winning some Bradley dollars soon enough.
That's not at all what he was saying. He was saying play the softer game that improves your hourly rate, which is often going DOWN in stakes. In no way was he suggesting to take a shot at higher stakes. It's fine to take shots but that wasn't what he implied there
@@Masoch1st you already said what he was implying. Go to where your hourly rate will be the best. If that means going down in stakes… do that. If that means seeing a soft game in higher stakes and going there to improve your hourly… then do that
@@ryanhnatowich1085 in this context, he is referring to going DOWN in stakes. That is an important distinction, and lower skilled players might think higher stakes = higher potential hourly. and while that may be true if you're good enough, for most people they are not bankrolled for this and will get smashed.
I'm glad it worked out when you took a shot in a higher stakes game. I definitely wasn't encouraging that type of thing all the time, but if you think it was more profitable for you to play 2/5 that day rather than 1/2 or 1/3, then that's great. I also like that you quit after an hour and locked up a win to build up some confidence. It's good to take baby steps into the pool rather than dive right into the deep end.
"The name's not boy, it's Roy." Appreciate at least one movie reference per vlog! Appreciate your work, message and approach. You're the best out there. Peace, love and prosperity.
Hey Brad, when I lived in Jacksonville FL, I played at the Best Bet (also referred to as Regency), and the games there are great. I was even there the day it opened back in March of 2012. Looking forward to the video on that great property. Keep up the great work. ☺
Montreal? Playground? Holy Crap! I’ll see you there! That’s in my backyard! Awesome!! I’ve been subscribed since the beginning! So much fun watching you develop into a world champion poker player!
Hey Brad don't know if you remember me but it was super cool randomly running into you late at night a couple of weeks ago at the Westgate. Been a big fan of the Vlog for awhile now and looking forward to attending the meet up game if you have one when you come to Florida again.
@BradOwenPoker I was in Spain when we scored 5-1 against them. It was glorious. Also in 2010, when Spain won the world cup, I remember sitting at a "orange" camping site (loaded with Dutchies) on a packed terrace where drinks were being served by Spanish waiters. When Arjen Robben broke free and had a 1 on 1 with Casillas, we all held our breath and hoped this would the world-cup winning goal. He stopped Arjens goal attempt with his toe. The waiter, who was a Spanish dude, was so happy he dropped his serving tray with all the drinks on it. We helped him out and when Spain won the world cup, we all tipped him and the Spanish staff extra and celebrated with them. It was fun. We sometimes refer to this as the "toe of god" moment. 😅
Against a reg who likes to 3b a lot it's profitable to use a polarized 4b range. I use hands like QTo, 99, KJo and a variety of Ax to balance the range. Effective in tourneys and cash. Especially effective versus a suspected bot because their programming shuts down in squeeze and 4b situations.
Not a joke. I played online for the first time in a while and I swear to god I play by played every hand in my head - but also I did it in Brad’s voice. I think I broke my brain binging on Brad vids.
Thanks for sharing this video Brad. It reinforces the truth that variance in poker means there will be tough days as well as amazing ones. Recently I’ve been going through a down streak but seeing your videos makes me feel the turn around is just around the corner. Really enjoy and appreciate your hand analysis and especially your efforts to highlight tough beats.
Variance my ass. I've been on a downswing for the past couple years. In the past two years I'm down like 20k. I've had the odd night where I cash big but overall I'm being raped by the deck
"Like Roy Munson, he doesn't have a hand". Lol ! That movie was playing on the TV in the motel I stayed at last year when I went to a MUG at the Hustler. Going to Montreal in October, can't wait !

11:35 I've heard you in other videos talk about making more disciplined folds, but seldom see them in your videos. How about including one once in a while? 13:50 Okay, there's one. 😄
What do you use to record your hands? Do you ever get flack from other players for doing so? Do you record every hand and delete the boring folds, or do you only start recording after looking at them first? And if so, isn't that a tell?
A couple of sessions ago when I had JJ on the button and 3 bet, I faced a 4 bet from the big blind tight player (played with him before). Knew with relative certainty that he had a bigger pair. Almost folded but decided to set mine the flop knowing that if it hit he would be stacked. Flopped quads. He went all in on the turn. It was that guys 1st hand at the table. Had AA.
Hello Brad, i'm a noob from France and wanted to say that i like your explainings of the hands with reasons why you play in those ways, it gives me much informations on the gameplay. But i do wonder how many hands you play roughly thruout a day of almost 8 hours playing. I noticed that you explain 20 to 30 hands for a day playing. Just currious. Of course thanks for your vlogs.
The vlogs are just a highlight reel of the most interesting hands played. A lot of long sessions are very boring so I don’t go through the hands where nothing significant happens. I’ll be dealt 200-250 hands in an 8 hr session and I’ll fold around 75% of those preflop.
Bestbet Jax is my local room! I’m gonna try to come out and see the pros in action, maybe I’ll get a chance at some Bradley dollars haha. I’m just sticking to cash games for now though
My last session was much the same wasn’t in the mood to fold cost myself more money than I should if I had a more disciplined day. After sessions like that I like to to take a couple minutes at the casino really focus before I sit down on being patient and taking my time.
