It's the year of 2nd places for Phil which means he really needs to work on his heads up game. You gotta be always raising fairly big pre with 55 heads up man they are vulnerable you gots to protect them!

the mistake he made was calling the river bet with only 55. He had to suspect he was beat at that point after his flop and turn bets both got called. Checking also protects his showdown value. Finally, if he was really going to call anyway, he should have put a small blocker bet out like 1 million and saved himself some chips as he clearly cannot call a river raise.
