The wierd dino mixtures were in 3 and many people hated it, I'd like to see carnotaurus( large dino with horns and small arms) with chameleon like camouflage and you need to be careful or it'll kill the player. I'd like to see a hiding mechanic kinda like in alien isolation where you need to hide cause the dinosaur is too deadly for the firepower you have or to save ammo cause it is scarce
This is something more applicable to a hypothetical remake of the sequel(s) rather than the first Dino Crisis game. But I was also wondering if the lore and world-building could be improved, if the nature of the franchise’s fictional “Third Energy” was expanded. To elaborate… While a remake of DC1 could keep the focus on using Third Energy to open portals in time Primeval-style, what if a remake of DC2 had its background plot involve Third Energy also being capable of opening up portals through space? That way, the plot behind the game’s “Noah’s Arc Project” could be reimagined and/or further fleshed out. For example, another idea I had was for DC2’s environment to not only be set millions of years into the future, but also on a separate planet being terraformed. I was thinking that there could be files/cutscenes revealing a discovery that Third Energy could open up space portals to other planets similar to Earth, in addition to time traveling. This gave people ideas of using Third Energy to pioneer the colonization of new planets. In order to become habitable, though, the planets still needed to be terraformed and have natural ecosystems evolve on them, both of which would take millions of years at best. Therefore, it was decided that earlier applications of Third Energy would be employed, in order to revisit a planet millions of years into the future, after the process of terraforming and introducing wildlife populations was initiated. Eventually, it allowed them to experiment with artificially evolved environments, and it was not long before dinosaurs captured from Ibis Island were also sent there. With this slight change/expansion to the lore, it could give Dino Crisis the opportunity to add more dinosaur variety, by having the lore feature both prehistoric dinosaurs as they naturally are in-universe and these new fictional species/genera of dinosaurs evolved through the Noah’s Ark Project. That could, for example, provide an in-universe reason why the Giganotosaurus in DC2 was so greatly oversized compared to the real animal. Also, if a remade Dino Crisis franchise were to introduce genetically-engineered/hybridized dinosaurs like in Dino Stalker and Dino Crisis 3 (albeit far more grounded than DC3’s monsters), then having fictional dinosaur species/genera which artificially evolved on the terraformed planet would at least provide an intermediate step and more steady sense of escalation. Also, if the franchise were to have full-on genetic chimeras of dinosaurs, I was thinking that creatures along the lines of Goji Center’s hybrids like Indominus 2.0, Ultima imperatrix, and Mortalodon might be far more fitting for the franchise. That is, since those hybrids at least attempt to follow the rules of what one could theoretically create by splicing natural traits together, rather than creating dinosaurs with full-on superpowers and Dead Space-like designs as DC3 does.
Definitely interested in your take on Dino crisis 2. Love these classics.
I believe Dino Crisis 2 has even more potential with its jungle setting especially with today's technology.
