- Adding aftermarket 4inch LED strip lights to each turn signal lense. Already have aftermarket light smoke lenses and chrome coated amber bulbs. Looks great. Also replaced running light in headlight with LED version from www.dx.com
They have these LED strips in white, blue and red. 4inch or 12inch or I think 36inch. 4inch was $12.99 a pair. - Авто та транспорт
What a great idea, never thought of that.... It's simple, cheap, effective and looks great. Thanks for the tip!
nice job i put on my K1200LT 2007 thank you
You can also cut the strips between LED's for length. The strips are totally waterproof.
Sure, the strips are pretty flexible. As long as the surface is smooth no problem.
The lenses are not rubber sealed. So tons of water gets in anyway. There is a drain hole at the bottom just for that purpose. When I pulled off the OE amber lenses they were pretty dirty inside from that.
I haven't had the light assembly itself apart, just the rear cover for the HID conversion. So I'm not sure how much access there is, the rear cover is fairly big but not sure you can fit your hand in there. Not sure if the glass comes off separate from the housing itself or if it's bonded as one unit. I believe the upper front fairing needs removal to get the glass out but I may be wrong.
Previous owner tapped into the 194/168 bulb (running light) in the headlight bucket so I tapped into that wire. If you are picky you can cut, solder, heat shrink tube seal it. Shouldn't have any issues then.
Is there?a video showing how to remove the complete cluster?
any way to add some of those to the front part of the light assy?
Great idea, do you think the wire will allow moisture in the lens?
that's interesting. how is this accomplished without cutting through the conductors which would be wired to the light circuit?
