  • There's some great instructions on BMWLT.com about rebuilding the EHCS actuator, but its not clear how far you have to tear the beast apart to get the damn thing out. Turns out its pretty simple and no tupperware removal required, so if your having a problem with the EHCS, here's the easy way to get it out so you can start your rebuild.

Thank you! This is easy. Will try the rebuild this weekend.

Are the two bolts (ones you start unscrewing at 1:00) the same size as the 3rd one with the washer? My two bolts have been broken (sheered of at base) and I will need to remove remaining bolts out of the hole but I don't know their sizes. The broken bolts seem to be the main problem my centerstand refuses to lift the bike. Thanks

To be honest Steve its quite a while since I've had to remove mine, and I don't know the bolt sizes. The sizes aren't listed in the Clymer's either.
However, a quick check on MAX BMW's fische at shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51715&rnd=07242017 show the transmission attachment bolts (2 to release EHCS) are:
