- I have a 2005 Mini cooper s and my radio did not come with thw aux port so o went to the dealer and bought one. About 35 dollars for the kit. The part number is 82 11 0 153 367
1st gen mini, 2005 mini cooler s, aux cord installation. How to, mini r53, radio aux option.
I tried this on my 2003 Mini Cooper s. Saved me a TON of time having to remove the radio. It literally took me 3 min!
deftone4u I'm glad to know that this video helped you. Good luck.
This is an awesome time saver! I ordered the aux kit for $20, and supervised as my 16 year old daughter followed this example. Less than 10 minutes, no tools! The only requirement is dexterity! Bravo! Works on 2005 MINI Cooper Base.
Mike C I am very glad that this video helped you. Thanks for watching.
on a 2006 mini cooper: worked well, was not as easy as anticipated, but it worked -- very crowded with wires in the back but I was able to plug it in after moving things around. great vid
POTATOALIENROCKS thank you very much for watching and I am glad that worked out for you.
I'm getting my dad's old mini and it has no aux 🙄 thx for this
Giselle Maldonado thank you for watching
me, too! Can't wait to try this out.
Bro I got the thing working but I cut my knuckle in the process the shit is TIGHT in there
It's very cool, how can I get such a cable? Can you help me?
Me too . I pent 3 min as well . Thank you it is amazing, work perfect
I know this video is few years old but I was looking at the wrong videos the whole time
About how to plug my AUX on my R53
Your video is so helpful don’t need to remove anything a 2-5minutes job and done our Mini has a aux now great
Thanks you Rock dude
Cable name?
Yes I'm just kind of curious what the part number is on that auxiliary cable I go to the dealership they told me they don't have a cable
Me too. Did you get the part number eventually? Pls share
Thanks for posting this video! Most/if-not-all videos show people unscrewing the side pillars and removing the radio when you can just install this cable without tools.
harrvey well... if you wanna run the cable to the glove compartment you will have to remove the pilars. but at least you can just try it before taking a whole lot a stuff off. thanks for the comment and good luck my friend.
Thanks! Your video saved me from removing all of the panels and the radio as suggested in other videos. Your method easy.
Hey where can I get the cord ?

harrvey I have a friend that bought a cord online and it did not work for him. but also I have seen people online saying that their cable worked fine and it was purchased online.
Does it work for 2006 S
Thanks! This worked on my '05 Cooper S. much respect.
Alfred Valrie I'm very happy that this video helped you in some way.
Link to buy ?
Unfortunately it didn't work for me.. I plugged it in, went smooth, I heard click etc but I am not able to switch the mode. It is still only CD and RADIO. I have a European version of a car but radio looks the same
@Lex yes I think so, no auxiliary option
I am sorry you went through all that trouble to find out that it doesn't work.
Wow! Michel Fernald, you have found the most ingenious and simple way to do this for a wired aux cord installation I have ever seen so far.
Thank you. I am glad that this video helped you in some way.
i can’t get the panel open
Hi, I have a question about this, before installing aux cabl, when you click mode button, which modes did you have, one click is cd, second click is it aux or you are going back on the radio station, I have the same radio, and first click on the mode is cd, second click I am again on the radio station, so my question is when I install aux cabl will I have aux mode because of cabl, right?
Bike Kamikaze yes. you will not have the aux mode on the radio until you connect the aux cable.
@@9311michel it doesn’t work for me like that
Broooo thanks! Unlike the other vids I saw guys tearing off their dash and everything to get the whole radio out just to plug it, and all you did was one step!! He'll yea!
Just did mine this way on a 2004 MINI base R50. I had to unplug the Navigation audio on my car (I don't use the NAV enough anyway). My maps are from 2012! This way is too easy...thanks!
What type of connector is needed to do this? I’m looking online, and to buy the specific mini adaptor it costs almost 150$.
Farruko chillax 💙
Would this work on a mini one 2005? And my steering wheel is on the other side, will this still work?
sweettooth006 If your radio looks just like mine on the video most likely it would be the same procedure.
Michel Fernald thank you, is there exact name for the aux kit you used ? I'm seeing different ones from the one you used
sweettooth006 the one I used was purchased from the dealership. A friend of mine bought an aftermarket aux kit from the internet and it didn't work.
It cost me about $28 us dollars
Great informative video 👌🏻 thank you !! By the way what's the song name you played with the iPhone on UA-cam the one in Spanish well if you don't mind me asking lol once again thank you for the video. ☺️
LiveLoveLift Lifestyle thank you very much for your comment and the name of the song is CHILLAX by Farruko ft Ky-Mani Marley
Thank you! 😊👌🏻🙏🏻
thank you very much Michael for your video this is definitely the best way to install an auxiliary cable to a 2005 mini Cooper s again thanks a million
Will this work on a 2005 Mini Cooper s?
It worked on mine. And it was a 2005 s
Michel Fernald thanks
Where do I buy this
Hey, before I buy parts ect. I have a 2002 Mini Cooper do you know if the radio in the 2002 model will work with this. Thanks.
jack cripps I am very sorry but I don't know if it would work or not.
Thanks!
FARRU

You are a true hero, thank you so much!

there's an aux input in the glove box?
chrischunn65 some minis do have the auxiliary port in the glove compartment. but if you buy the kit from the dealer it would come with everything you need and you can run the wire all the way to the glove compartment.
Does anyone have the part number
Liam S check the description of the video. I wrote the part number there.
I'm trying to install it I can't find the spot it did help still
Eunice Lopez you can't find the spot behind the radio?
What tool did you use to remove the radio ?
Eunice Lopez I did not remove the radio at all. I ran my hand next to the radio pillar and reached behind the radio.
This radio removal video shows the back of the radio and the socket where the aux plugs in.
