Very helpful. Just bought one of these TVs and was a bit lost without the detailed instruction book that you used to get with a new TV. I didn't realise the TV was 4K and HDR as that wasn't mentioned when I bought it. I also didn't know you could do all that on the new Freeview. Nice.
Just got this model after tyring 2 of the same size market leaders which were returned. Pansasonic beats its competitors on all fronts sound vision and quality . Best of all the TV guide is the most user freindly on the market. Thank you pointing me in the right direction.
So it is better then HX800 or there is small differences and the picture quality is the same? And what about blacks with local dimming set to off? And screen is glossy like HX800? Thanks for answers, because i'm thinking to buy 40 inch HX800 that is now cheaper.
my panasonic has in the blue tooth setting a transmitting mode and a receiving mode setting Like to know if in transmitting mode is it constantly outputting a bluetooth radiation signal or is that only from the moment you actually pair a device in other words are both modes passive until that pairing I want it off and not transmitting anything even when not paired to anything
Good overview - as you say was hoping to get a little more insight on the sound and vision quality. The viewing angle was fairly narrow on older Panasonic models, has this been improved? Is the sound quality reasonable without the need for a soundbar?
The sound is ok, but if you want a great sound then i would still recommend a soundbar. Also the viewing angle is good, not as good as other brands though which is a shame
Just bought the Panasonic TX-40JX870B 40 version from John Lewis for my Dad. FYI it does not come supplied with the screws for the VESA wall mount bracket. My dad already had a wall mount bracket for his old TV and the screws from that did not fit, the screws for the stand supplied also did not fit and there is no mention in the manual what size screw is required to enable an easy purchase of said screws. Luckily my old dad keeps a jar of odd nuts and bolts and after half an hour of sorting managed to find four screws and washers that fitted. For nearly £700 I thought this was piss poor.
Hi, what's the difference between the 800 & the 850, ? Looks like the 850 doesn't have component phono inputs like the 800 why would they be left off, are you loosing out on features.
my mate getting this tv on Friday for a little more over 1K he could have got a 55 inch CX but maybe doesn't want a big tv. I told him I have the CX anyway
@@lords-electrical Rediculous! I have a Panasonic DX750. Luckily I just bought 2021 Apple TV, so I can get Disney on that. Never figured out why Panasonic (one the biggest TV manufacturers in the world) can't have the app. He'll, Hollywood use their cameras for filming - Panavision?
You need to mention the reason why this TV is so expensive, it it has HDMI 2.1, which is for gaming, however I believe its a 60hz TV which means you cant play 4k @ 120hz

You are correct i am not a tech expert. I try and cover some of the common questions on these tv's, specs are easily read about online where as there is very little information about how they operate on a daily basis. Thanks for the honest feedback though.
I thought it was a helpful video and punter friendly. If the deeper technicalities are discussed, they go over most folks' heads and only relevant by comparison with competing products.
I like the basic info as these modern TVs are quite complicated to me...as I'm no tech expert! I guess you could also make a more detailed version of the video for all the techies out there.
I am an old person and I find it all to complicated to understand. I bought the John Lewis one. As an older disabled person I have found it very complicated. The Back light was on Max so I had to turn it down. The HD channels between 107 and BBC News have gone missing. I used to like Quest HD on 114 and it is missing. Also the Channels on HD 104 & 105 have no subtitles. It then jumps to 202. No BBC4 or 7 no Quest HD. 114 Zilch. I would love to know what I am doing wrong. Am I just going senile ?
Jeremy, if you are senile then so are we. I could go on for ages slagging this tv off. We have had people in to look at it. They were baffled. It doesn't seem to have teletext either.

You mention the Stand Leg width can be altered…. I have a narrow cabinet; What is the MINIMUM width the legs on the stand can be moved?

Can you pause, rewind and record with freeview play or do you need a separate recorder ?
Freeview play is really designed as a catchup service, so if you catchup to the programme, then you could pause and rewind if you want to
How many picture shape modes does this tv have. Does it have anamorphic zoom.My 10 year old tv has this feature.

800 runs Android TV, 850 has AI video processor and my home screen 6.0

yes they do make them, but the quality on them are not as good as the JX850 range of tv's

The menu does not look at all like a Panasonic TV.
This seems to be a third party built tv licensed by Panasonic..
We have been told that this range and above are the proper Panasonic Tv's not the cheaper Vestel manufactured range of Panasonic tv's
