sounds so good, chris. i've always wanted one of those matt chamberlain sig cymbals. they sound so good. i've got an early 90s k custom dark 22" that is similar, but the wash on the matt c ride is so complex but still controlled and the stick sound is really nice. drums and your playing sound amazing as always.
What a cool and eclectic bunch of ride cymbals! That EAK is a jewel, and I always love to hear old K. Zildjians being played outside of the 'jazz' realm. Your playing sounds excellent, as always, man!
Chris, your drums sound incredible, warm and natural. Love the Zildjians and the Paiste sound creation mellow the most. Greetings from Ghent (Belgium).
I devour every Chris video!! One of the best drummers there is in my opinion, elegant and always refined, in a certain sense I too can play his rides, with The Classics by Toontrack, and also with Custome Vintage!!! Great Chris always!!!
You could do an entire album like that !! I will buy it !! I remember a French television show where a team entered the recording truck for the Paris Bercy concert. The sound engineer had isolated the sound of the drums and said listen to this, I'm going to make an album of it and send it to his mother !! Happy to see you again Chris !
As always, I appreciate the effort you put into these recordings. The 22" Zildjian EAK was my favorite of the bunch. That cymbal would cover a lot of different styles of music. Although the intent of your video was to showcase a variety of different ride cymbals, my ears gravitated towards the sound of your drums. Your toms sound so warm and that snare is a perfect example of "fat." That combination would be great for ballads!
Good to see you Chris! 😎 Hope you are doing well! Always loved the sounds of the K´s, especially the rides! Kit sounds wonderful, too! BTW, did you grab your copy of the Dire Straits Live Box Set with the full "On The Night" set? Love your playing there so much! Great to hear those unreleased tracks! Stunning! 🥁🥁
I really hope you will show us your Sultans play and how different you would play it nowadays.. No version has been grown to me like yours from OES tour

Didn't know you were such a highly educated purist! I love watching you now that I have time.

Nice! Love that EAK. I recently picked one up at around 3100g, these are great cymbals!
Fabulous cymbals. Although I have found a home at Agop.
@@ChrisWhittenMusic I am definitely interested in going down that rabbit hole. Eye the Irdis 22" ride right now.

Thanks. Yes I bought (!) a DS live box set 👍🏻
You are a legend! It's that the noble and cooley drums from the sdx? I love your pack!
Yes, the same 👍🏻
Amazing 🙌
What sticks please Chris ? What a great drum sound btw !
Thanks. Vic Firth David Garibaldi but I usually use Steve Smith.

Me encantaría volverlo a escuchar un Sultans of swing. Para mí ha sido el mejor batería de dIRE sTRAITS!
I really hope you will show us your Sultans play and how different you would play it nowadays.. No version has been grown to me like yours from OES tour
Yes, that is third on my list of videos to do. Unfortunately I have been so busy recording I haven't been able to make any proper videos for a while.
@@ChrisWhittenMusic I wonder what will come before Sultans..
Quick question, is that the first Solo section youre playing along?
@@aqhatthespy5458 Yes, got it in one 👏🏻
Is that the drum set you used with Paul McCartney?
Identical, but not the exact same one.
Sultans of swing ?
At some point…
