Great video! This is exactly how i feel! Almost word word for word! And we played pretty similarly since getting PS plus. I realised the value in the short games that are a hard purchase normally. Great games, but spending so much just for 3 or 4 hours of gameplay isn't worth it. Games like chicory, superliminal or unpacking. They're incredibly valuable on a service like this. Being able to try games as well. I never would've bought descenders, but gave it a try and had a lot of fun with it. I even played one of the monster truck games for some cool nostalgia. The value has been incredible. But like you said, it's starting to depreciate the longer we're on the service. Im definitely staying on it for another year at least. Even with the price hike, the value is still too good in my eyes. But depending on what this year brings whether i stay on after that. But yeah, great video dude! You have a really good perspective on the topic. You just gained a subscriber!
So true. I hadn't even glimpsed short games before Ps plus. Would never have bought them before. But with a subscription model, you can try so many out and by the time you've been in the game long enough to understand it, you're usually a couple hours away from finishing it so might as well. So satisfying to be done with a game in one day and even get a platinum sometimes too. Makes you want to try more, which I feel is the whole point of extra.
The ps plus catalogue is way bigger than the gamepass one now. I don't get why there is still this myth that gamepass is bigger, really old information now.
@@iluvmusicqwe Tbh I notice that ps plus only really has the exclusives to justify the premium, but gamepass has a bunch of AAA games always coming out on it so they do have that.
Yet another viewer from Reddit here, and looking forward to watching the rest of this video when I get the chance. You’ve got such a good voice for UA-cam
First time I’ve seen your videos and man am I glad I stumbled on this from Reddit! Totally agree about playing short games and treating PS Plus like a buffet instead of trying to sink in so many hours into one Triple A Game. I’ve also been too hasty with pre-orders this year while my PS Plus was active (Did Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield) and even though I really enjoyed both of them, it wasn’t an efficient way to spend my time and money. So this video is very helpful!!!
I can't find an answer anywhere I've looked and wondering if anyone happens to know. My boyfriend and I live together and both have our own PCs. If I buy a PS Plus membership, am I able to use it on my PC and he can also use it on his? I reckon not playing games at the same time and that's fine, but I'm talking about just using the account at all? Like account sharing? Is there a profile option or would we have to log in and log out on the two PCs? I would appreciate any answers! I've only been able to find console-related ones.
Not sure about PC's, you used to be able to play games on the pc through PS now (which got converted to Ps plus extra/premium.) but only stream games on the cloud. Couldn't download em to your system. But if you have 2 playstations you can totally share. I have one at mine and my gf's house and I can continue progress on the same game on both systems through cloudsave.
I'm working on a video right now that will have them all. Only 30 second review for each and the video is already half an hour lol. Tune in for the next one!
It depends on the game though. Since my channel focuses on short games. A lot take less than 4 hours. Some as little as half an hour! I've def played open world games for several months before I finally got around to beating em. So one 100 hour game is like 25-30 short games.
Excellent content, just when I was wondering if I should get the extra with 25% discount to play a few titles. I’ve purchased most of them from the list already. This will help me decide if I should get the subscription.
I just got a ps5 should I wait til Black Friday to get ps extra? I currently have some disc games I bought used on a good deal and bought wukong can’t wait to play that!
Yes, never buy it at full price. Just play some free to play games to keep you busy for a month or two and whatever game came with it. The deal is only offered to new members.
I honestly don't care about "Owning games forever" as once I play and/or platinum a game, I never play them again. (That's wasted time I could be using for a NEW game I haven't played.) The only games I play again are games I didn't platinum years ago and I'm playing it again to get the platinum. That's it. So a service like PLUS is great for me. I've played a ton of games from there and the value is great as I'm not buying each of these games individually which inevitably is a money saver. That and I'm not a "first day" guy so I can wait on even the newest games.
Yea same. I play it. Beat it. Then forget it. Which is why I compared it renting, felt more fair than comparing to games retail price. Still got my moneys worth for extra.
I’ve tried to replay games a few times and then I’ll come to an area where I think I don’t want to do this section again and I’m done. I’m thinking of getting the premium subscription for this very reason plus you can stream the games so no more eating up valuable memory. The only thing holding me back is because I bought several triple AAA titles on sale for Black Friday and they are long games like God of War and Harry Potters Legacy and I don’t want to rush those games as I like to explore and experience all the game offers. I’ll possibly get the PS Premium later this year if they offer a discount for upgrading my account.
Small suggestion, I have been a psn user since 2011.I admit I did join PS Extra in Jan 2023, but I started extra on my side and not on my main. Regardless I kept playing on my main and occasionally shared my side accounts with people I truly trust. I would have the PS extra on my ps5 while my friend has my side account on their ps4. We both download the games, play them on our mains and both of us got platinums from the PS extra. Chances are we'll just make one of our side account the PS extra and gameshare it in 2024
@@OliveOcelot I have already used my past voucher codes, for I have used all of them before PS plus changed to Essential, extra and premium. If you have extra, you can play as long as you have extra and the games are still there. For essential you don't have to worry about what games are leaving every month, you have em forever as long as you stay on psplus. If you truly want em forever, you buy them. I agree, short games is what a service like extra was made for. Try out new games that you wouldn't have bought before, and as a bonus, be done with them after a day or two. Games are such a commitment these days. Need weeks or months!
i got PS Plus premium year subscription during last year black friday. It wasn't worth it for me personally. Too few third party day one releases (like Sea of Stars) and the library only updates once a month. Having used Game pass, PS Plus is a huge step back in every way. And now its even more expensive. So theres no way i'm continuing with Plus. Maybe next year if they decide to add day one exclusives to the service or make bi weekly game updates.
I'm all all about short games. I'm not even close to a game every three days haha, but this has been practically a record year for me. Off the top of my head: Tchia, The Pathless, ReCore, Chants of Senaar, Telling Lies, Rogue Squadron II, Clone Wars, Tears of the Kingdom. More I'm not remembering, and many many more I played but am not comfortable adding to a completed list. I plan on finishing a number of them. All of those listed above are excellent by the way. Especially Tchia. One of the best games ever made.
I had a hard time remembering too. It's why I made my 2 lists. Also the best way I found is to check your trophy list to see what games you played in what order. I know for me, Ragnarok was my cut off point to when I switched to a ps5 and got extra. Even though I only played it for ten minutes. It made counting them a lot easier.
Those are some great games. PS plus definitely has better games than Game Pass so it's overall better in my opinion. I absolutely love Detroit Become Human, Inscription, and Death Stranding, Returnal what did you think of those?
@@finnhaverkampthe problem is when you cancel it, it doesn't stop right away. You'll still be able to play until the end of your cycle. So unless your cycle ends earlier this month, you won't be able to take advantage of the black Friday deals.
