Yes well said
Yes, he is amazing
👍👍👍
Whenever a new Pat Metheny song comes out, there is always a great feeling of warmth and joy
Absolutely, warmth, joy and I would add light/sun!
I agree 💯 Well said
Reasons to be cheerful... 🙏😌
Absolutely ☺️I agree!
April 9, I'm seeing him live!! Unbelievable! We'll be very careful considering, but I already waited a full year!! ❤❤❤❤
Last saw Pat a couple of years ago at The Admiral in Bremerton. No Lyle that time. Damn but I actually shed a tear in Lyle’s passing. Been listening to him and Pat for 45 years. Part of the family.
I know what you mean... we felt the same way when we saw him a couple of years back at the Cabot Theatre in Beverly Massachusetts...
Same feelings. Always following Pat, kinda life's soundtrack. And exchanged few words with Lyle after a concert in Italy...
Saw pat with new group last April in Perth Australia -Linda Oh's home town . They played lots of old songs in honour of Lyle Mays , pianist extraordinaire R I P
@@erobinidcf I have always wanted to see him and Lyle do San Lorenzo together. It’s probably the piece that really got me into Pat back in the 70s. Like Eberhard Weber and “Sand Glass”, Ralph Towner and “Nimbus”, or Keith Jarrett and “The Köln Concert”. (I would have added Nick Drake in there but he’s hard to classify) Not to snub Mingus or Davis or Evans or the rest of the great ones.
So sad we'll never be able to know that marvelous musician... RIP.. 😥
He's such a talented composer, that I sometimes forget he's one of the best guitarists alive. A creative and technical freak.
Perfect timing for the anniversary of our beloved Lyle Mays, perfection and colorful sound are beyond as they were in old days.
Pat is the reason I play guitar!! ...he sits on my Mt Rushmore with AL Dimeola , Alan Holdsworth, and Wes Montgomery.... I have seen him over 10+ times in concert- own all his music!!! ....this new album will save our spring and summer !!!.....it will for me at least!!! ...The Orchestration Project is still the greatest event, episode and pc of music in all recorded music- PERIOD !!!!....iv listened to this new track already 15+ times and it gets better each moment!!!.....glad to see you back PM !!!....much respect n love from all my heart and life !!!!....DJK - Chicago.
I really need to see Pat in concert again!!!
me too please
Here’s hoping will be blessed with that opportunity again to be present in a live concert of such a performance waiting and praying with bated breath☮️💞
The world is much better when Pat Metheny plays new music!!! Miss you Lyle!!!RIP.
Spring is here. Return to the lost time.
That one dislike is Kenny G.
hahaha
🤣🤣🤣
...or his mum!
They made a session scheduling mistake. Should have had the real Kenny G (Garrett) stand up, not Kenneth Bruce Gorelick.
LMAO
Pat composes on a high level of consciousness more advanced than most mere earthlings
Paco de Lucia is smiling down on this one.
My hero is back ❤️
I can not wait for March 5th this sounds great with Pat composing what else could it sound like?🙏🏽❤️
In this theme I´m listening to Pat Metheny but I also hear airs of Spanish classical music, Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega... So nice.
@zen arcade Pat may be using classical techniques like tremolo, arpegios, but he is not borrowing melodies form spanish composers. He has his own catalogue of melodies my brothers.
I'm so excited for this new album from the genius of Pat Metheny! ✌️❤️
Awesome
Pat = Awesome 👌🏽
The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet is one of the best bands on the planet. They cover a huge range of styles from classical to jazz and Pat wrote the piece specifically for them and their individual characters.
Check out their Guitar Heroes recording where they pay tribute to everyone from Zappa to Howe, via Chet Atkins and Pat Metheny.
"Air and Ground" was the first cd of theirs I heard, around the same time I first heard "Imaginary Day" by Pat, and it is one where ex-LAGQ member Andrew York wrote a few tunes that actually reminded me a little of Metheny. Of their cds of arrangements of classical pieces (plus Led Zeppelin!), "Labyrinth" was maybe the most likeable; "evening in granada" the most impressive. They "crossed-over" a bit when they did an album for Sony in 1998 (L.A.G.Q.).
It sounds like Flamenco Music
Definitely has nice elements of Flamenco - rhythms, harmonies, percussive slap body - good call! I’m also amazed at the warmth in the sound of multiple guitars playing together like this.
also feel some south american folklor
Thank you Pat and team!
Pat is back, happiness and Joy are back as well
Namaste 🙏
Fantastic piece. Beautifully captured.
As usual, amazing and creative music!
aqui siempre escuchando tus temas y salir adelante, amo tus trabajos, nunca cambies maestro, el genio original, pat metheny!!
Sin límites, siempre se supera, tanto en las composiciones como en las interpretaciones. Mi ídolo indiscutible.
What an excellent Cooperation, sounds gorgeous, thank you!
Olé!!
A riot of guitars! Great Pat as composer (as usual...) and great LAGQ. I can't wait to listen to the Jason Vieaux part and to the bonus track "Fur Alina".
Pat Metheny is a great human being and a genius musician . Have you ever been to his concerts ? Pat gives so much and is so generous to other musicians -Just check out his latest CD - he composes and produces a named album for others !! Totally unselfish genius DJEJ
ps R I P Lyle Mays brilliant pianist and huge part of the best PMG era who's legacy lives on in that music and his own solo albums .
Lindo como sempre. I loved!
The UFOs have this music playing on their crafts.....Pat is the best.
Fresh as a new one, outstanding as a classical Metheny song

The meditative guitar playing of Pat Metheny is soothing to the soul 💫. Thanks for sharing 😊
Those 25 dislikes were Kenny Gs fan club
RIP Lyle!!! Pat bring it on brother bring the blue skies!
Pat always the best!
To me, this feels like something of a return to Pat’s New Chautauqua days. It’s refreshing.
My 1st thoughts as well.
Sensacional !!!
Tremendo!
Brilliance.. 👏😌
Jason Vieaux!!
beautiful song Thank you
this entire project is wonderful
An oasis in the desert! Thank you 🙏
I like this song
Almost one year from day to day after the precedent opus, D-28 before its release. I can't wait, as usual...
Soo good :)
Thank you Pat from Italy

Pat delivers great music yet again with ROAD TO THE SUN an gives of his own time to others to help them develop their skills -what a guy !!
Personally, I sorely miss Lyle Mays and now will also lose another piano jazz genius & LEGEND in Chick Corea R I P

Color de sol andaluz
New album is great!
There has always got to be that one guy who gives a thumbs down, ..."just because" ...wise up . . .
whoever it is needs a slap in the face...
Those are the bots, not people, on everything in UA-cam, within seconds of every new posting.
I'm not sure if that is true. This video was up for a while with 200 likes before I noticed a thumbs down - unless a thumbs down shows up a long while later.
Grandiosos, como el maestro Joaquín rodrigo
Sou fã de sua música. Fortaleza-CE, Brasil !
Daje Pat!
Finally got around to classical technique, ey ? Fresh !
Esta maravilla de pieza me evoca pasajes de guitarra clásica española, la universalidad de sus notas a veces tiene el lirismo de los grandes maestros. Bravo por el compositor y por el magnífico cuarteto!
I Agree With Pat Matheny.
It's a funny song by Richard Thompson.
ДЯКУЮ
Genio
👍
Wow
Hey Pat ! When will you come to Lyon France ? Last time I have been lucky to get one of your picks at the end of your concert but I loose it in a jazz club where I played few days after ! So bad ! I look forward on your new creation. Salut amical de France.
I confirm and i remembered 'The way up tour" in 2005 in "Jazz à Vienne"!
@@milarepa3154Bonsoir. No it wasn't "The way up tour". It was on may 2017 at Amphithéâtre Auditorium Lumière. Salle 3000 Lyon. An evening with Pat Metheny tour. Merci pour votre réponse en tous cas.
@@philo5985 Yes I agree, but I just remembered this fabulous concert in 2005 and also the last tour with the amazing Lyle mays (RIP).
Beautiful and refreshing. Those who enjoyed this song as much as I did, go and check the duet Strunz and Farah. You are welcome.
❤️🌻🌞🌟🌻☀️🌻❤️
Wow.. now so "folkish", nice .. I have missed that style since "New Chautauqua" from still ˋ79. But it hardly reaches the quietness and meditation .. of this old album ..
1. Put the concert tickets on sale.
2. Take my money.
Ah Pat......
Is he going to the classical music? It’s somewhat like 19~20c classical guitar musics.
With Pat he goes everywhere at least for this project it’s classical but next up who knows? Remember he is the artist with the most Grammys in different categories talk about versatility. Whatever he does after this I am sure we will love it❤️
19th century? I think you meant 20-21c instead. In the 1800's guitar repertoire was mostly based on the classicist era style.
Hi Pat :) You're an amazingly talented guitarist, one of the best of the past century for sure in the top 100 and for many probably near the top of that list. Don't let it go to your head though bro :P. Saw you play live once at Ontario Place and you blew your mind. Back then i was just starting to play myself, maybe 3 or 4 years in, later that same year i met Joe Pass at the Imperial Room of the Royal York hotel, that was amazing guitar playing also. Got his autograph even. I want yours too man. Anyway....now, about 30 years later, it's become a big part of my life, guitar has, a real passion and at times ecstatic moments and i've made a lot of friends through creating and playing music. You are obviously centred around jazz and that's cool but in some ways it's become a genre of middle ages white guys primarily and the kids are not all that into it. Yah i know you are very much a fusionist also. I wonder if you would ever consider making a dub record. With your incredible skills and mind I bet you could make a killer dub record, put it out on vinyl, collectors edition, i bet it would do quite well. Look at creating a limited edition drop on the block chain also if you want lots of money. And of course inject a lot of world ethic musical influences in there and your own inimitable voice. Do you have an oud? Curious because i've never heard you play one. Just an idea, the dub record i mean. Loved your stuff with Jaco and Joni back in the day also, what an experience that must have been for you!!! As a guitarist you some what piss me off because you never seem to hit a bad note even in really complex pieces. What a gift you are, thx, sincerely, Kenneth
Celtic influences? My imagination perhaps.
Spanish, I think
Is it me or is that part around 30+ seconds very much like a Yes song?
very punny
