According to an interview I heard with Tim, this one was Chance’s idea, and creation. I am not sure how Austin and Tim decided to split Captain Jack Sparrow’s character. Tim dressed the part, but Austin is acting the part. By the way, Tim recorded his part dressed like that, swinging the mug, and singing in the front yard, providing his neighbors some comic relief during the pandemic…
Tim was standing in a boat is why he had to stand so still. I always thought that Austin was dressed more like Sinbad than Jack Sparrow. You can really see Austin's musical theater training in action.
I have always loved Chance's voice. He has done several covers with The Hound and The Fox. My favorites were, "My Mother Told Me", "The Wellerman" and "Hurt". Hope you get a chance to check these out. Thanks.
The song Chance starts out with here, May the Wellerman Come, he also does separate from Home Free, with The Hound + The Fox, under their name feat. Adam. (They're the couple with the baby in Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.) I'd also like to recommend the double feature of The Sound of Silence by The Hound + The Fox feat. Adam Chance and The Wayfaring Stranger by Adam Chance feat. The Hound + The Fox. They're recorded back to back, with the three of them turning their backs to the camera to start the next song after a few seconds and the camera moving from one side to the other, and the same thing in reverse at the end of that song. Doesn't matter which song you start with. And they're both lovely.
Chance was the driving force for this video. He had to convince the other guys into doing this medley. I really enjoy Chance's full version of the Wellermen on his friends channel, The Hound and The Fox. Chance works well with them as a trio and The Hound and The Fox have done the background music on Chance's solo work.
How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.
They sang this at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City. Tim said they do songs and think it's going to be good and then crickets. And then they do what they call fillers. Well 8 million views later we get The Sea Shanty.
Craziness is what this is. Pure, wonderful, inspiring craziness delivered with alien harmonies and a kit of human instruments. Did you notice Adam's castanets?
I loved this one when it came out as it was such a lovely upbeat moment during a very difficult time, but aside from that it has such a great beat to it and of course fantastic vocals and vocal percussion... but that's not unusual for them 😁.
Home Free having fun. Austin is displaying all his theatrical skills in this video, Adam's castanet sounds added greatly to the video, Rob looks like the captain of the ship. Adam is great with the beatboxing and castanets
What I love about this video is a lot, but the fact this was done during quarantine and they were all in their own separate homes. Tim's actually standing in a his brother inlaws bass boat. 😂 Adam's castings are amazing, and Chance was the one who suggested the Shanty. Its was such a hit they didn't expect. They do it live and it sounds great. Thanks for reacting to this. Blessings
The depth of the all male voices ... you hit it on the head ... that's why Home Free appeals to me more than any acapella group ! They do have a richness I don't find in the other voice combinations .
Oh yeah the boys kept me afloat during Covid. They released so many songs and it really lifted my spirits. At first I was like Sea Shanty?? What? I didn’t know they were a thing. Chance loved shanties on TikTok and he brought the idea to the boys. So much fun and so good. Tim and Austin went full pirate mode. I only knew one song. Love it!! Great reaction Chris! 😃🥰
i was lucky enough to see them twice last year and this was in the line up. both times the crowd went wild when they started and both theaters shook from the bass and percussion, it was amazing
The HF guys showing their creativity once again: using the TikTok format to manage their separation during quarantine ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Tim staying so still to keep from falling out of the boat he's standing in--it makes me laugh because every time I see him in this I think of the animated pirates in Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean. 😆 And those castanets!! Adam Rupp's percussion and sound effects are second to none!! 🥰
This is Great !!! I truly believe that Adam is a genius with his percussion. Did you hear his castenets ? This was done during guarantine in each persons own home in makeshift studios. I have heard that Tim was standing in a boat at his brother-in-law backyard, LOL. These guys are genius.
Chance was some sort of bardic hero in a past life. (I swear) My favorite thing have seen him do solo is a actually "Oo-de-lally " from Disney's Robin Hood. But he has several out with Fox and Hound and has been doing more solos on his own channel too. This has so much going on doesn't it? But I couldn't take my eyes off Mr. Rupp for most of it. They did sort of a World wide sea-farers beat with this one. Celtic, Nordic, Spanish and Greek perhaps would be my guess. (Just listening to Adam Rupp gives me that impression)
The guys are just amazing. I really love the Sea Shanty kind of music. The guys made it so much fun to watch and listen to. Chance with that great voice being a more modern seaman, Rob of course with the mustache curled up and the one in charge, Adam and the great sounds, Austin...well he was out to take that gold home and Tim with the "rum" and that great bass singing while standing in a small boat. So much fun and I have watched it about a billion times. :) Great reaction, thanks.
I went to a concert last month and it was soooo good…this was part of the set list. You mentioned the fullness of Rob’s sound….I think it’s a little of his opera training sneaking through in his solos. It’s even more noticeable in the live performance. Thanks for reacting to this one.
I got to see them do this live about 3 weeks ago and it was so fun to see I was hoping they would do this one and they didn't disappoint. It was great!
Chris believe it or not Chance brought this to them and the guys at 1st didn't want to do it...he persisted & got his way and now it'd been their most successful (in terms of viewership) in the last 3 years...I believe it's near 7 million views
One of my favorites by them. Great reaction. I don’t remember if you’ve done any Chance leads, so I’ll leave some suggestions. “I Can’t Outrun You”…beautiful 5 part harmony, and Chance directed the video. “Cover Me Up”, and let it play out as there is a surprise at the end. “Yours”, “Dive Bar Saints”. I also don’t remember if you’ve done “Blue Ain’t Your Color”, Rob lead, shared with Chance.
Hello Chris. I think I've been here since the beginning. Just looked at your personal file and saw that you are from Ga. So am I. Retired from UGA. Am enjoying your videos and was happy to find that you were from Ga.
Loved the reaction as always. Geoff just released a new cover yesterday. Had 85k views last I saw. It's a cover Jimmy Dean's BIG BAD JOHN. Hope you react to it soon
eat your heart out Tik Tok the boys are showing you how it is done. I am surprised you did not mention how good Rob sounded in his lower range on his second lead
Adam Rupp was on fire in this c'mon CASTANETS 🤯

While standing in a boat that belongs to Chance x
Tim was standing in a boat is why he had to stand so still. I always thought that Austin was dressed more like Sinbad than Jack Sparrow. You can really see Austin's musical theater training in action.
This is a thrilling medley. Loved Adam's sea spray and castanets in Santana. Loving Chance's voice more and more too.
I have always loved Chance's voice. He has done several covers with The Hound and The Fox. My favorites were, "My Mother Told Me", "The Wellerman" and "Hurt". Hope you get a chance to check these out. Thanks.
I have those son'g on my playlists and love them.
I also love an original written by Chance titled
" SONG FOR HOME"
He has such a beautiful way with the phrasing on his writing! He is so great!

Shout out to Adam Rupp , he is such a fantastic percussionist! You got to love the castanets. Thank you for your great reactions!
i love this song i love home free

Hi Chris. Thanks for watching this one. I will never tire of listening to it. So good.
Home Free having fun. Austin is displaying all his theatrical skills in this video, Adam's castanet sounds added greatly to the video, Rob looks like the captain of the ship. Adam is great with the beatboxing and castanets
Chance rocks this!! Home Free and Fry forever!
Home Free can do anything and make it Great.
My favorite part of the beat Adam gave us was in the last song where he sounded like castanets. Loved that.

Adam's beatboxing was phenominal! During the Santiana part, he sounded like castinettes!!

These guys can sing anything. So much fun to listen to. Loved Adam's waves and castanets and how the tempo picked up with each song change.

I would love to see them do this live!

Adam was a beast with the castanets !!
Another one of their quarantine efforts. These guys are amazing!
Loved this one. They speeded tempo up each song.
Saw them live a couple months ago and this song was freaking amazing! Hope you see them live! 😊
I love sea shanties. The music of the people that live on or by the sea. Very fun with beer!
I love the sound of the ocean spray in the last song. Made you feel like you were on a fast ship crashing through the waves
This is so fun. Love Adam’s castanets. Thanks for your reaction

They nail it live, too! :) Great reaction!!
I can't remember which of the guys said it but they call these songs Sea Chancies because of Adam's love of them.

Rob has opera training!? Wow. No wonder his voice is so phenomenal!! Very impressive!
@@lindanearing4710 Rob has a college degree in vocal performance. Much of that was classical training. He sang with a jazz group in college as well.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. I love everything about their rendition. Great to see your reaction to it!
you notice the castanet sounds? That was Adam Rupp, the beatboxer.
Did you notice Adam's castanets in the last song? That was a great effect. Still enjoying your reactions ad I have from the beginning.
I have to say, Rob really stole the show here. It's like his voice was made for sea shanties.
They all did great but Tim and that bass can't get much better
It took me forever to watch this video. I wasn't sure I was going to like "sea shanties". All that time I wasted! Loved your reaction. 😊
I got to see them do this live about 3 weeks ago and it was so fun to see I was hoping they would do this one and they didn't disappoint. It was great!
Saw this live last Saturday, I was a very very happy camper to say the least

Adam doing those castenets was awesome
Perfect quarantine entertainment to keep up everyone’s spirits 🎶❤️👏🐋
Amazing as always! Love that the lows surprised you even after you commented on them 😂 #biscuitgang

I love adam's castanets in santi anna.
I love this one ❤️🏴
Watch some videos of Tim taking out some speakers with those low notes. Pretty impressive.
I love Adam's castanets!
Castanets?!?! Really, Adam? Such fun.
