Checking the Andertons site in the UK G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy in 3-Tone Sunburst goes for £399 and the one you are playing is £1200 great buy I have tried the Vintage V72 Custom Spec tele style guitar and it has killer tone, great feeling neck , made in Indonesia for £309 Vintage V72 Custom Spec , I love to hear you play this guitar see what magic your fingers bring out, you have a great tone, very smooth, when I seen David Gilmour in 2016 it was his silky smooth effortless playing that just blew me away, love playing like that,
Glad you found this guitar, I love alnico II pickups, gives a super bluesy vintage sound. I’ll need to check the price in the UK, and if they have them left handed. I’ve got a cheery burst Fender Strat, very nice as you say. Thanks for the demo as always.
I know I'm a year late to the party but I'm compelled to comment. I bought a MiM tele in 2005 and fell in hate with that guitar. The baseball bat sized neck, poor pickups and poor setup put me off Fender ...then I played a custom shop tele and fell in love. I was just about to plunk down my hard earned cash when my buddy/salesman asked me to try the Bluesboy, I was flabbergasted. Here is a $1600 tele that rivals a $3500 Fender in every way. It's never out of tune, and I've tried to screw it up on purpose, it's neck is as you said "butter". Swamp Ash body is absolutely beautiful, the pickups are as quiet as a church mouse, and if you fiddle with height (bottom out) you can get it to quack. This is THE most versatile solid body I own and I will be buried with it. The only negative thing I could say about the ASAT Fullerton is the lack of aftermarket support, but I don't see a reason to change anything. I wish I had stumbled onto your videos sooner, it would have saved me a lot of legwork. *MY ASAT was 3 months used and I got it for $1000, I saved so much I bought a Gretsch SparkleJet '59 for kicks ! ....now if I'd only played the Deluxe Legacy instead of buying the Pro II Strat ! 🤣
@@JonIsJustTooLoud And neither should you, that guitar deserves a player like you to give it the beans. I have been playing the Legacy tribute through the amp and you were right, there's a nice tone in that guitar, especially in the neck and neck/middle position. All the best, G
I have the Bluesboy with satin neck and turquise mist body color. Oh man, soo nice. Your lead sounded soo good here, especially on the heavy breakdown. That tone range!
After longing for a G&L, and watching your videos, I took the plunge and bought this. I am looking forward to receiving it. I enjoy your content, thanks for the inspiration to buy more guitars! 😂
Yes that is one fine G&L ASat Deluxe Telecaster . Will you do a live show playing it on stage it would be so nice to see you on stage with the G&L ASat Deluxe Telecaster . 🤘🎸🎵🎶🎶🎶 Thanks TroyFrost / Troyster 😎 CoolRiffs 😎 Cool 🎸 🤘🤘 🤘
It is beautiful and sounds great! Darryl Braun did a video where you can hear that the brass saddles really do make a difference in tone. I like them better than steel.
Great flight !!! Even with minimal knowledge of the language (I am from Russia), you can perfectly understand what you are talking about, everything is revealed thoroughly. This is where Russian guys need to learn to do guitar reviews! Very good game, sound. Thank you for your work! 👍👍👍
Your written English is pretty good! Keep practising and you' be right up there with us native speakers. Do you have a UA-cam page with some of your guitar playing on it? I'd like to hear it!
@@ToddSauve Thank! I use an auto-translator in communication, but I will follow your advice, as I understand that this will facilitate my understanding with other people. I don’t have a page on UA-cam, I’m not a professional musician and I don’t have achievements that I can show to others, I prefer to learn from others than to teach someone myself. When I was young, I was a musician, I had my own band, but it ended tragically, I stayed with my drummer together, we did not want to continue this work, after my guys were in the grave, and stopped. A lot of the songs that we composed have already begun to be forgotten, but we want, in memory of our guys, to repeat and record everything. Hi Jon, it's really difficult to find the right words to express the feeling one has when the G&L Fullerton Deluxe is in his hands. I'm really pleased with mine that I bought after viewing your previous video of the Clear Orange model. I'm generally speaking a Fender fan and do not like so much the G&L head shape, but the Fender Tele with a humbucker in neck position did not create any emotion when tested.
I bought the same clear orange Swamp Ash ASAT Fullerton you have, beautiful guitar and covers so much ground. My Fender Tele can't get near my Marshal JDM head without squeeling like a stuck pig...but the ASAT is as quiet and smooth as a Custom Shop Tele (quieter). I played around at 11 with my Maestro Fuzz and this thing can handle it with ease. Hope you still have yours and enjoy it as much as I do mine. God bless and rock on 🤘.
I did try one, loved it, bought it and no regrets, it's incredible. Thanks for the review. BTW wish I could make it sound as good as you make yours sound. lol
Apologies for asking, but would you have considered the version with the maple fingerboard? Is there much of a tonal difference or difference in feel? The only reason I ask is because all the rosewood models seem to have sold out.
(I know it's a year later but...) G&L works very much like a custom shop for everything USA. They remind me of Rickenbacker that way, but if youngo to their website, you can special order an ASAT any way you like and it doesn't cost a dime extra (unless you want sparkle paint, that's extra). G&L still offers woods only Fender and Gibson offer in high lines or complete customs for extra $$$. They come Pleked standard, so when you unbox it, it will sing with very little effort. A couple of new ASAT'S were unboxed when I bought mine and everyone was floored because just 1 out of 9 needed a quick tune. All of them were intonated and we also noticed that not even a screw was out of place on any of them. Really spectacular setups and I called G&L just to thank them and they sent me a free t-shirt, so I sent them lunch. Really cool guys to deal with. God bless!
Jonathan, with the tuners being non-locking and only a 12/1 ratio, how do you find them to be? Easy to tune and keep in tune or kind of sloppy and prone to wander? Also, the maple--where is it sourced from? With the price tags these G&L guitars demand, I really expect the best in these areas and 12/1 non-locking tuners will have a hard time cutting it with me. Again, you are a WONDERFUL and really versatile guitarist Johathan! If I had one quarter of your talent and ability I would be one happy guy!!! Finally, do any of your guitars use Alnico 3 pickups and if so, what style of music do you find they lend themselves best to? Blues or maybe jazz, or even country-rock? Please give me your opinion on this. And that Cherry Burst colour is the bee's knees! The only one I like better is the Antique Burst on my Squier Stratocaster Standard, with an aged pearl pick guard. But that Cherry Burst is right next to it in my most loved colours! ;) Do you know you are named after King David of ancient Israel's best friend, King Saul's first born son Jonathan?
Todd Sauve yes I do know about the name Jonathan 😃 as for the locking tuners, I personally don’t see the need for them on this guitar. I have placed an order for a set of G&L looking tuners for my Comanche though. I’m a sucker for Ceramic pickups after all these years. The alnico 3 s are really good for clean sound, muted stuff and funk but is lacking when it comes to high gain. Hope this helps✌️🤓
The sound of this is so good. Although the Tribute is an excellent guitar, the Fullerton Deluxe just totally trumps it in terms of refinement and depth. I listen back to your vids on some very good studio monitors and can really hear the difference of the two, even here over UA-cam. Well, at least it's very clear why the Fullerton made guitar is a lot more expensive. The price is well justified. Nonetheless, I would hate to diss the ASAT Tribute, because it too far outweighs its price tag in terms of sound, performance and build.
For me it's all about the neck. The 🇺🇸 series are on a different level of playability and comfort than the tribute. The tributes are fantastic guitars but the neck on the USA is worth the price alone.
The G&L Fullerton line of guitars are real easy to fall in love with. They're sure carrying on Leo's legacy. Great video, great playing, as always.
