Secret Wars (1-9)
@agardner77 this video was made a while ago. All of the issues listed on this comment is now in omnibus. You can get hickman avengers omnibus 1 and 2. Then u just need secret wars which is 9 issues.
There are spoilers in this video, for anyone who wants to avoid them I typed up what he said: Johnathan Hickman Avengers 1-11 then New Avengers 1-6, then Infinity 1-6 (tpb of Infinity collects New Avengers 7-12 & Avengers 14-23) then read Avengers 24-34 then New Avengers 13-23 then Time Runs Out (Avengers 35-44, New Avengers 24-33) and finally Secret Wars 2015. Or buy the Hickman Omnibuses vol 1 and vol 2 when it comes out next month along with Secret Wars.
To really get deep into the Secret War storyline you probably have to read Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four run and I think the Ultimate Fantastic Four because villain The Maker is part of that story as well.
I'm expecting Jonathan Hickman's Avengers omnibuses Volume 1 and 2 in the next few days. My question is, will I be able to read each omnibus, cover to cover and fully understand the story? As in, The Avengers, New Avengers? Or would I have to stop reading once I reach issue #7 of The Avengers and then flip to New Avengers?
Mate, you should make a comeback, your last video was 4 years ago, i don’t know if you’re still alive or did you just move on from youtube, but if you have the chance to read my comment, your channel was awesome
Well I misses out on the original trades, the two Omnibuses, but now Marvel is releasing Avengers by Hickman in Complete Collections trades. They will include both Avengers and New Avengers in each book!
Reading Order * Avengers World Vol 1 * Avenger Vol 2 The Last White Event * New Avengers Vol 1 Everything Dies * Infinity * Avengers Vol 6 Infinate Avengers * New Avengers Vol 3 Other Worlds * New Avengers Vol 4 A Perfect World * Time Runs Out * Secret Wars
You forgot Adapt or Die. I thought the right order after Infinity is: New Avengers Vol 3: Other Worlds Avengers Vol 5: Adapt or Die Avengers Vol 6: Infinite Avengers New Avengers Vol 4: A Perfect World Time Runs Out Secret Wars
I just finished avengers and new avengers, but then when I start ‘time runs out’ falcon is captain America, Thor is unworthy and missing an arm??? WHATS GOIN ON- What can I read before ‘time runs out’ that can clarify what’s going on?
No. Infinity comes after Avengers Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and New Avengers Vol. 1. After you read Infinity, you read the rest of the run and then Secret Wars.
Im a little late to your comment lol but you can just jump right in to Avengers #1 without any prior reading and youre good then just follow the reading order in the video
I think there is a gap in your reading order. Avengers vol. 1 - 1-6 Avengers vol. 2 - 7-11 INFINITY - 14-23 Avengers vol. 5 - 24-28 Avengers vol. 6 - 29-34 That's what you showed in the video, but what about Avengers 12 and 13? Besides that, great video.
Avengers #12 and #13 were filler issues so they didnt include those issues in the trades. You can read them digitally on comixology but you don't need them to understand the story.
I remember when a regular comic story took 2 issues. Graphic novels had a whole story. Now they stretch out things to make more $. Between that and the PC of comics. I stopped collecting after 40 years.
The odd spoiler here or there is fine. But I'm pretty sure the ending to secret wars (which I've been building upto for a while) just got fucked for me. Ffs! (watched on ps4 so couldn't see comments)
Displaying books lying flat is pretty useless for people who want to to be able to identify the graphic novels. Flipping through a graphic novel is USELESS. Do you even watch your vid before publishing it?
1. Avengers Vol.1 Avengers World (1-6)
2. Avengers Vol. 2 The Last White Event (7-11)

12. Time runs out Vol. 4
Avengers (43-44)
New Avengers (31-33)
13. Secret Wars (1-9)
i love you bro thank you 🤜🤛🔥
Missing avengers 12-13
If I've only watched the MCU and don't know the comics at all, if I want to start the whole hickman run, this order would be the best, right?
@agardner77 this video was made a while ago. All of the issues listed on this comment is now in omnibus. You can get hickman avengers omnibus 1 and 2. Then u just need secret wars which is 9 issues.
@@austinkerr7356 Ohhhh okay, thanks!
Thank you so much for this. I want to read entire Hickman run and this is the only thing that actually helped me.
This actually clears up a lot of stuff, I wish I could find more videos like this on different comics and runs. Thanks.
There are spoilers in this video, for anyone who wants to avoid them I typed up what he said:
Johnathan Hickman
Avengers 1-11 then
New Avengers 1-6, then
Infinity 1-6 (tpb of Infinity collects New Avengers 7-12 & Avengers 14-23) then read
Avengers 24-34 then
New Avengers 13-23 then
Time Runs Out (Avengers 35-44, New Avengers 24-33) and finally Secret Wars 2015.
Or buy the Hickman Omnibuses vol 1 and vol 2 when it comes out next month along with Secret Wars.
Constellar Diamond bless people like you
Isn't there gaps in this though?
The omnibuses vol 1/2 and secret wars a compilation of all the comics mentioned above ?
Constellar Diamond YOU are the MVP
Constellar Diamond but what about Avengers #12 and #13 ?
(Same problem in the video)
Literally the greatest Marvel story ever told.
Your reading orders are by far the best, I love them.
truly one of the best runs
This is the most efficient way to start reading comics, paper trade backs.
To really get deep into the Secret War storyline you probably have to read Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four run and I think the Ultimate Fantastic Four because villain The Maker is part of that story as well.
Great video.
Really helpful as only just started getting into Marvel comics, thank you =)
I wonder if the avengers movies will go to the secret war after infinity war.
It just got confirmed
@@samuelmartinez4302 yeah but they'll mostly likely have Kang as the villain
Not anymore tho
Dude u earned a new sub😝
These trades are the way to go. The omnibus versions are OOP and crazy expensive to get your hands on.
Just bought all these in OHC. 😍 Great video 👍🏻
A perfect world is one of. My. Favorite story
Man i love infinity
thanks for this man - great video and super helpful!
Thanks a lot buddy, gonna start reading these now
Thank you you helped me so much in what to get
a great help, would be nice if the story was kept in one run but worth it..suppose the hickman omnibuses would solve the problem
So if I collected/read all this Secret Wars would make sense right?I saw another reading order before SW but it was way too much.
What about Avengers Issue 12 and Issue 13?
Did you find out what the avengers 12-13 book was called?
So if i am going to read secret wars i should go in this order? Iam new to comics. How to select the artist??
Great Video :)
thanks
thx for the video & have a great day.
The omni’s are in perfect reading order and collect literally everything except for secret wars at the end
Mate, you should make a comeback, your last video was 4 years ago, i don’t know if you’re still alive or did you just move on from youtube, but if you have the chance to read my comment, your channel was awesome
ive seen people say to read last white event 3rd? just curious if theres reasons for that
Does Kang appear in Secret Wars (2015)?
Very good
So far ive got the avengers 6 volumes, i plan on getting new avengers next then infinity time runs out and secret wars
Well I misses out on the original trades, the two Omnibuses, but now Marvel is releasing Avengers by Hickman in Complete Collections trades. They will include both Avengers and New Avengers in each book!
TheComicBookLounge Where you buy all of that comics
Where do you purchase these all
Reading Order
* Avengers World Vol 1
* Avenger Vol 2 The Last White Event
* New Avengers Vol 1 Everything Dies
* Infinity
* Avengers Vol 6 Infinate Avengers
* New Avengers Vol 3 Other Worlds
* New Avengers Vol 4 A Perfect World
* Time Runs Out
* Secret Wars
You forgot Adapt or Die.
I thought the right order after Infinity is:
New Avengers Vol 3: Other Worlds
Avengers Vol 5: Adapt or Die
Avengers Vol 6: Infinite Avengers
New Avengers Vol 4: A Perfect World
Time Runs Out
Secret Wars
so can someone tell me why this is the order you're supposed to read this in?
I just finished avengers and new avengers, but then when I start ‘time runs out’ falcon is captain America, Thor is unworthy and missing an arm???
WHATS GOIN ON-
What can I read before ‘time runs out’ that can clarify what’s going on?
Those are just stuff that happened in their individual stories.
Bill Rivera you probably know this already but Jason Aron is the one who ruined Thor.
@@mrbrandtastic5473 His first arcs were great especially The God Butcher/ Godbomb but it went downhill with Mighty Thor - Unworthy Thor
Hey can you answer this 1 question? Is the avenger and new avenger in the same universe?
how many page
The only thing I didn't like about Secret Wars was that Iron Man wasn't in it, I expected him to play a major role in the story
Just bought secret wars
read in this order
avengers 1
avengers 2
new avengers 1
infinity
new avengers 3
avengers 5
avengers 6
new avengers 4
time runs out 1 2 3 4
secret wars
thank you!
Are the omnibus’s in the order he said they were?
I am 777 person who liked ur video
i didn't quite get one thing, so do we read infinity after time runs out? and then after infinity read the secret war? sorry for not getting it
No. Infinity comes after Avengers Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and New Avengers Vol. 1. After you read Infinity, you read the rest of the run and then Secret Wars.
Is this a good place to start reading the newer marvel universe?
quinn elam yes
What i need to read for reading this series?
Im a little late to your comment lol but you can just jump right in to Avengers #1 without any prior reading and youre good then just follow the reading order in the video
Didn’t he have an avengers assemble run too?
Just wondering how much all of this cost you?
Just did it rn cost roughly 350 on Amazon
Second hand on eBay, less then £100
I think there is a gap in your reading order.
Avengers vol. 1 - 1-6
Avengers vol. 2 - 7-11
INFINITY - 14-23
Avengers vol. 5 - 24-28
Avengers vol. 6 - 29-34
That's what you showed in the video, but what about Avengers 12 and 13?
Besides that, great video.
Avengers #12 and #13 were filler issues so they didnt include those issues in the trades. You can read them digitally on comixology but you don't need them to understand the story.
TheComicBookLounge Oh, I see. Thanks for the answer.
Actually, you can find Avengers #12 and Avengers #13 in Avengers Vol. 3: Prelude to Infinity.
Oh yeah, I see.
But if they were really filler issues, I don't think it's worth buying.
After I read infinity 1-6 do I read New Avengers 7-12 then Avengers 14-23 ?
7-12 is before Infinity. The Infinity trade paperback includes 14-23
I remember when a regular comic story took 2 issues. Graphic novels had a whole story. Now they stretch out things to make more $. Between that and the PC of comics. I stopped collecting after 40 years.
Whoever has one or two books from this video?
Yup
The odd spoiler here or there is fine. But I'm pretty sure the ending to secret wars (which I've been building upto for a while) just got fucked for me. Ffs! (watched on ps4 so couldn't see comments)
could get me one a' those
Whenever you show the art, you flip through the pages way too fast.
You can just pause the video
Nice spoilers showing some of the pages.
squalltheonly yeah that kills this video
You can't spoil a book all he's doing is showing the artwork idiot
I read where I want to start with you don't have to start off with a certain comic
Displaying books lying flat is pretty useless for people who want to to be able to identify the graphic novels. Flipping through a graphic novel is USELESS. Do you even watch your vid before publishing it?
Wdym it’s super easy to see what cover it is and he outright says what volume he is looking through.
