Granted this person definitely broke the game by clipping through walls and teleporting themselves through time of the games story, it looks pretty clear that this is some already modded version.
This is played on OpenGOAL, a reverse engineering project aiming to create PC Ports of Jak 1, 2 and 3, which is why the loading doors are faster than PS2. Also, this particular skip to enter Construction Site and trigger the cutscene to warp you that far into the game only works on the August 2003 build of the game, slightly older than versions used for retail releases. There's a mod for OpenGOAL Jak 2 that recreates the behavior of that build, hence this video. Aside from that one skip into Construction Site, everything you see here is possible in the regular game. In retail versions the largest skip gets you to Mar's Tomb instead, putting you about 60% of the way through the game, with the Any% speedrun being about 1 hour.
Is that sequence break only possible in the OpenGOAL version? Cause I don't think there was any version of the original or official ports where you could skip to construction site
@@mcvilllain technically. this is an official build of the game that never was released. we call it August cause it was a full fledged version, 2months from launch. that got extra checks for patches etc. hence why cs skip doesn't work on a normal console today. BUT with opengoal you can play the build itself, which is what I did here. there's a build that's a month before this one. where less things are patched called the July build. OuijiShi has done runs of it. in 2021 or amth I forget. I'm Rambling anyways
How the heck do you do the Glitch with peacemaker where you can dump all the rounds into one shot? That’s So Sick! Any other gun glitches that are wacky and fun?
late but im essentially just stacking all 5 shots into one. i do this by double jumping, and when jaks in the air for that slight second, i change from yellow to purple holding r1, and once jak touches ground, it just stacks the maker shots like you'd be doing the wastelander move with the blaster. you can 'double stack' by having the pmaker out, pressing r1 letting off r1 spinning and holding r1 again v fast, itll take 2 ammo shots (but be aware when you shoot its quite loud where both shots revolve off eachother lol)
following along as exactly as i understand, though slowly, and familiar with the mars tomb skip, but cannot get the construction site to spawn. do you know exactly what causes that? i follow to the same spot on the map, boosted dash jump, restart, and spawn in the same spot. glitch behind the door though and theres nothing there
