I honestly didn't think it worked, the whole Laurie vs Michael thing was all bs and the family idea even moreso, she never had any relevance to Michael till she became his sister, it was cool that they left out now leave Laurie out, never got the obsession with her boring character, I would rather see the documentary crew take on Michael , now that was a great idea, but the 2 best characters got killed off first, Dr. Loomis was always Micheals main protagonist to me not her. One thing I'm glad they did was have his eyes be completely hidden in shadow when his mask is on. The eyes are the window into the soul, so removing his eyes helps add to his inhuman, "merely a shape of a man" mystique

I like to think that because Micheal actually responded to the mask, thats what got Sartain to rig the bus. It was his last chance, Michael was about to be taken away from him and the mask clearly held meaning for him. Sartain basically responded like The Shape would, he saw a chance and moved on it.
I really thought that Aaron (the podcaster) was gonna have some kind of redemption arc, where he goes from this naive journalist trying to dredge up old ghosts and exploit them for his own gains, to witnessing the Boogeyman firsthand, watching his partner be murdered, and feeling partially responsible for wanting to open Pandora's Box. Then spending the rest of the movie trying to help the Strodes, and eventually documenting the experience. Not for his own professional endeavors, but so the world can know never to underestimate the power of the Evil. That would've been a really interesting development of his character, and I think his actor could've really carried it well. Such a waste.

Since Halloween (2018)‘s Canon is only Halloween (1978), I think one of Laurie’s failed relationships could be the one and only Ben Tramer. Be interesting and nice to see that character reused since he’s still alive in this new canon.

I do love that long tracking sequence with Michael on the loose on the Haddonfield streets, going house to house to kill people as kids are trick-or-treating outside. In Halloween lore, we wear masks and costumes so we can walk unnoticed amongst the demons and evil spirits who are out that night. But here, the evil force is wearing the mask so it can walk amongst us unnoticed.
"I didn't wanna really see anyone die" Now that see is a great thing too, while not all characters are perfect they still come off as pretty believable, which makes the tormenting of arrival that much more harrowing.
This movie was filmed in my hometown. I passed the film trailers and crew everyday on the way home during the duration of filming in the neighborhood. The insane asylum where Michael was is actually a school named "academic magnet". And the scene where Micheal is laying on the ground at night was the community swimming pool and track. The football stadium where Laurie and her grand daughter were talking at the beginning was recently demolished. Danny McBride also lives here so filming was convenient.

29:40 Since Halloween II didn't happen in this continuity Ben Tramer's probably still alive. Laurie mentioned having a crush on him in the original so he might be one of the 2 husbands she had in the 40 years between the original and this film which also means he might be Karen's dad.
Hey, I don't know if you're gonna see this, Doctor, but I just wanted to say that I _just_ discovered this channel due to this video appearing in my Recommendations (probably 'cause of all the Decker Shado vids I've been watching lately), and I have to say, I absolutely loved this review and your style, man! How you don't have more subscribers is beyond me. You've got one new one now, at least. =) Keep up the fantastic work!
Been watching your channel for a couple of years now and I have not ever laughed as hard as I did at 30:51. No clue why, was fuckin hilarious. Thanks for the explanation of that scene btw. I was scratching my head at the school dance scenes and didn't even think that part through.
This Halloween movie is remarkable in that it actually made me feel some type of emotion for the victims. That's extremely rare for a horror movie to elicit that feeling from me.
I'm still a fan of the original Halloween 2, but I enjoyed this movie too, and they did do a couple of small homages to H2 as well as other sequels so in the end I'm still happy.
Arin looked like he head a rough head injury but could come back from it. Lady had a light bulb stabbed into her throat in kills and manages to come back c'moooooon.
OMG, I forgot all about the phone in the pudding moment. Made NO sense. I mean, it's not even water. It's pudding. Pudding! Thick, not particularly loquacious pudding. Who would just leave it there? Jeez.
I thought it was nacho cheese lol. Was it pudding? Like butterscotch pudding then? Or vanilla due to the lighting? I always thought it was cheese dip 🤣🤣
I never had a problem with the sibling angle... It adds a twist to the Judith murder, while still having that "but... but why??" feeling that we love about MM. I will say, removing the twist does add much more to that scene in the original when Laurie goes to the Myers house and he sees her. It's not so much "oh look, it's my sister," it's more "target acquired" in that creepy obsessive psycho kinda way.
Damn Doc, I absolutely loved the video, it was well worth the wait and honestly can't wait till your next video, I think you do an absolutely amazing job at this, and if I had the money I would so support you on Patrion
Considering the naming convention of the last two sequels in this trilogy, I wish the 2018 film had just called itself "Halloween Returns". Halloween, Halloween Returns, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends would have worked so well as a quadrilogy
Doc, you did an awesome job! This was as epic as the movie back in October 2018! This was an awesome review! Thank you for dealing with all the BS! I thoroughly enjoyed this review! Awesome 😎!! This is why I am a Dr. Wolfula fan.
But, if they’re not siblings, then why is Laurie the only one who’s paranoid about him returning and specifically coming for her? And then why does he? It makes no sense if they’re not siblings
The deletion of the Laurie is Michael Myers’ sister plot line was a brilliant move. When I first heard of the twist in the original saga’s timeline, I remember feeling that it didn’t seem right with what Michael Myers did. He’s pure evil, simple as that. Also I do think that the podcasters could have been more developed characters, especially seeing Michael in action and all. One more thought, the twist with the doctor (I forgot the name), could really have been done better, like maybe he keeps mentioning on how fascinating Michael is and all that, the twist as is, while an interesting idea, just feels tacked on. Oh well, the movie’s still good and can’t wait for the two sequels!
I also like the fact that the sibling thing was removed. Michael first saw laurie when she dropped of the keys at the myers house and stalked her after that. He just saw her and went after her, how would he even know she was his sister in the first place.
norwayguy121 True, true. Laurie was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, because I believe Michael would have stalked anyone that would have come by his old house, Dr Loomis included.
This is the best Doctor Wolfula review yet! Thanks for all the work that you put into this one. It really shows. Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are the best reviews in my opinion. Keep it up Doc!
That's pudding he's throws the phone in? I always thought it was a giant bowl of nacho cheese!! Edit: it's also great listening to your take on Officer Hawkins. I bet you loved that you got the scene of him arresting Michael in Halloween Kills!
I feel like Halloween Kills may address some of the issues your brought up about this movie, particularly, how it seemed like the town didn’t give a shit that a killer was loose. It really feels as the movie goes along, that people start to take notice and begin to look out for one another, which will naturally continue forward in the next one. Your commentary, which is awesome, for me at least, really opened up the whole fact that, this film was always intended to be at least 2 films, and expanded to a trilogy after it made that sweet sexy cash.
Doc, I've been watching your videos from the beginning and have enjoyed every minute of it. Keep on making them and I'll keep on watching them, Your fan, Patrick Carrigan
Hey Wolfula I love your idea of Michael being on the lose for 40 yrs then making his way back to Haddenfield. He then encounters Laurie again & decides to finish what he started.
I liked him finding the podcasters, against all odds, at a random rest stop. It ties into what you said earlier about him and that mask having a nebulous connection, it's like he was drawn to it after his attention was renewed.

29:40 Since Halloween II didn't happen in this continuity Ben Tramer's probably still alive. Laurie mentioned having a crush on him in the original so he might be one of the 2 husbands she had in the 40 years between the original and this film which also means he might be Karen's dad.
Yes! Nice fan theory.
37:14 the Laurie standing outside the school and falling off the balcony then vanishing were fun nods.
In the sequel I wonder if
Male podcaster lives
And is obsessed with taking down Myers
And if fan base is sad about loss of woman
Hey those characters had names…I have no idea what they are, but they had names.
Wasnt the male podcaster killed at the gas station?
@@s.ormgamalson6489 his injury's really didn't look like they could be fatal. The woman on the other hand is killed for sure.
Dana and Aaron.
@@camdensparks524 his head got smashed into a wall
This was awesome. Thanks for all your hard work Wolf, We genuinely appreciate it. Your videos are usually one of the best parts of my day.
Yessss liked before even watching it
Hey, I don't know if you're gonna see this, Doctor, but I just wanted to say that I _just_ discovered this channel due to this video appearing in my Recommendations (probably 'cause of all the Decker Shado vids I've been watching lately), and I have to say, I absolutely loved this review and your style, man!
RazzleDazzle I totally agree I burst into laughing and tears 😂
This Halloween movie is remarkable in that it actually made me feel some type of emotion for the victims. That's extremely rare for a horror movie to elicit that feeling from me.
YES!!! So glad it's up. I've been waiting for this for a long time. Would love more long-form videos from you in the future.
Honestly, Michael Meyers going after his family did make sense to me since his first victim was his older sister.
I agree. I hope they keep the same creative team. And I want them to introduce Myers as young again somehow
It's most definitely nacho cheese. It's so obviously nacho cheese. How could that be pudding
Dr. Wolfula should get his own "Svengoolie show" Your great.
That Judy Greer topless bit was just fantastic. Subscription earned
3 years and nothing’s changed. Dr Wolfula is still just as great as I remember.
"Her boyfriend has a boyfriend himself." killed me
The comedy and timing in this video is 10/10 Chef kiss
Oh my goodness! This was so worth the wait ! I loved it Dr.Wolfula!
16:43, 30:46, 30:50, 30:55, 29:32, 24:54 & 29:36 I love how you say these quote
In the toilet stall there is the symbol of Thorn
I feel like I'm back in time circa 2008 watching this dude review movies with a "twist". Lovin it.
Really appreciated the Roland Deschain reference. Nice to meet a fellow Tower junkie!
I love the Oscar kill mostly because of the set up leading into it. It was so suspenseful.
Doc, you did an awesome job! This was as epic as the movie back in October 2018! This was an awesome review! Thank you for dealing with all the BS! I thoroughly enjoyed this review! Awesome 😎!! This is why I am a Dr. Wolfula fan.
2018 Halloween being a squeal to 1978 Halloween is similar to 2011 The Thing being a prequel to 1982 The Thing
But, if they’re not siblings, then why is Laurie the only one who’s paranoid about him returning and specifically coming for her? And then why does he? It makes no sense if they’re not siblings
This dropped on my birthday, better than anything my family has given me
happy bday!
You truly spoil us Wolfula with a 55 minute review, love you ya beautiful Wolfulite!
i'm gonna download this...just in case
Kardboard send me the drive link just in case...

I agree with you
This was great man! I see all that hard work you put into this paid off! I loved it!
Me: “Let’s see...”
*Reads video time*
Me: “Holy shit.” ._.
i wish Vicky had been Laurie's granddaughter. The actress has more spark and charisma.
Great review. Used to watch your content all the time. Happy to be back☺️
That's pudding he's throws the phone in? I always thought it was a giant bowl of nacho cheese!!
Edit: it's also great listening to your take on Officer Hawkins. I bet you loved that you got the scene of him arresting Michael in Halloween Kills!
Glad that you where finally able to upload this for us. I truly look forward to your reviews, Doc! Keep up the good work
So glad to see this up, thank you! Definitely watching later when I have the time!
Glad you were able to get the video up. Great review Doc!
I remember being on acid and watching Halloween 4 and thinking wow this man is really trying to kill a child
Amazing video! Loved what you had to say at the end! Thanks for speaking up!
This is Wolfulas BEST ever. Love this one big dog! (No pun intended)
It just dawned on me Cameron would've been Lonny's grandson since he's the same age as Allison if he was Lonny's son he would be a full grown adult.
I feel like sometimes Doctor Wolfula is like a psychiatrist to horror villains and monsters.
Lol Michael in the shower at 36:24, that's the funniest shit ever
Happy you were able to get this up Doc :) I knew UA-cam couldn’t hold this back forever!
A dehydrated Gery Bussey is gotta be the funniest description ever!
Could not smash that like button any faster. Awesome review as always.
Your reviews a very well thought out and written. You appreciate detail.... and I appreciate that.
Doc, I've been watching your videos from the beginning and have enjoyed every minute of it. Keep on making them and I'll keep on watching them, Your fan, Patrick Carrigan
I can't remember the man's name but your reviews remind me of the Monstervision Host on TNT in the late 90s which is a DAMN good thing.
Hey Wolfula I love your idea of Michael being on the lose for 40 yrs then making his way back to Haddenfield. He then encounters Laurie again & decides to finish what he started.
how the hell did he make a 55 min mega review and somehow make it feel like the same length as his normal reviews?
This is literally the highlight of my year
I would love to see a Halloween fan film that continues Zombie’s Halloween 2. Laurie puts on Michael’s mask and becomes the next killer.
I liked him finding the podcasters, against all odds, at a random rest stop. It ties into what you said earlier about him and that mask having a nebulous connection, it's like he was drawn to it after his attention was renewed.
Awesome! Happy to see you were able to get it uploaded after all the problems with UA-cam. Ur definitely one of my favorite content creators!❤☠
Saw this video and clicked on it immediately! Dr. Wolfula kicks ass!
Next Michael Myers gonna fly to Germany to find Laurie 😭😭😭
Halloween II from 1981 was much better in my opinion, but at the same time I enjoy the second way more than the original lol.
Agreed! I love part 2 81 I hated Halloween 18 but Ill still watch it.
Been dying for this review. Thanks DOC!!!
