As a Swedish main I was looking forward to this viggen not Because it’s good plane I was looking forward to this because it gives me an excuse to play the J35D a few 100 times to grind this out

We are seeing for quite some time the limitation of War Thunder gameplay/missions. Wouldn’t it be great if we had more dynamic matches that would have different objectives so you could play planes the way they were meant to. Mosh pit pvp is not good for top tier.
This limitations been known for half a decade, many gamemodes were made to fix it yet Gaijin doesnt want to keep them around due to "server" limitations. Even though the gamemodes worked perfectly fine and scaled perfectly fine.

You mentioned how the AJS has the same engine as the AJ and that it gets less thrust than the JA variants. That is true but in War Thunder gaijin completely messed up the viggen engines. Even though the AJS has the same engine as the AJ (the RM-8A), it produces the same amount of thrust as the RM-8B engine on the JA variants. So currently the AJS37 ingame is as fast as the JA37D. But this is not caused due to the AJS having the wrong engine thrust, in fact, it is the only viggen with the correct engine power. And the JA variants should have slightly over 1000kgf more thrust according to every single source about the RM-8B engine. The thrust numbers for the JA variants ingame are completely made up by gaijin and can't be found elsewhere. I don't know how its even possible to screw up this bad. Not only is the thrust wrong on the 3 Viggens, but the top speed is also wrong on all 4 of them and there is a whole video talking about gaijins miscalculation that has gone ignored by gaijin for almost 2 years. ua-cam.com/video/Y1p6QPvIflE/v-deo.html
4:42, the F-14 didn't crash on purpose, the F-4S actually killed him before, his plane just went on flying. Also they could just remove the AIM-9Ls from the AJS and put it to 10.3 as a tradeoff to the regular AJ with a heavier airframe but the abillity to carry AIM-9Js with it's ordinance.
thats how u have to play the viggen. u cant go into the fur ball, u need to fly away, and look for straglers or people not payin attention etc as u said. Great video
This should be 11.0, not 11.3. And the JA37D should be 11.3, not 11.7.

Nah, the ajs37 should be 11.0 but the ja37d should be 11.7 no higher no lower til it gets rb99s, then maybe it can be 12.0 or stay at 11.7

This viggen at 11.3 is the same BR as rhe MiG 27K and Mirage 2000D. Tbh 2000D at 11.3 is still criminal.

Might be a stretch, but the state of missiles right now (9/10 times zero smoke trail and sometimes the diamond doesnt even appear - yes, while the missile is burning) is obviously painfull, but hear me out.
The patch got delayed to drop after the economy roadmap for various reasons, which means the devs got to work on the next update (maybe i'm overestimating gaijins work ethic but why not for the sake of the argument). We've all seen that gaijin's coding can be... dubious... when implementing new mechanics, even though you would think said mechanics would be, lets say "isolated" (UDES 33 april fools Spike incident - 1.April 2021 god rest those poor souls).
If we then add the addition of the Pythons to the equation, an objectively better missile than the 9L's, it would make sense for gaijin's next step to be adding a counter - the next step in the Sidewinder family - the 9M. Which has one main advantage over the Lima ----- A smokeless motor. Or rather a smoke-->less, low-smoke motor. ((plus better flare discrimination etc etc etc.)) This all but confirms the 9M for the next uppdate, with pooooosibly the additon of the hornet or the eagle, or am I stretching it too far now.
Either way thanks for attending my drunken Ted Talk conspiracy theory which defenitly 100% proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the 9M will come in the next patch.

I already knew this plane was going to be shit before it even hit main servers. Gaijin is doing Sweden dirty. The gripen was made when the f16 and mig29 were produced but it's not in the game yet. They will probably add the gripen when the f15 comes out making it basically like the viggen where it was outmatched by everything at 12.0

I think the main issue with this plane (besides not having all the armament options it had IRL) is that it just doesn't fit in War Thunders matches. Enduring confrontation if they ever worked on that and made it more dynamic would be fire for this.

As a swedish main, I acknowledge ur point and yes it is not so good of a plane, limited option on term of arment but as of now its the best we have 😂😂 that can do CAS role while in reality we will get sniped by pantsir all the time. Its just AJ-37 with 2 extra aim-9J
I really love the Viggens but dam the AJS is just miserable to play. Luckily the next planes that can be added, JAS 39 Gripen and Finnish F-18Cs, will have better CAS abilities. I am of the belief we aren't too far away from seeing these aircraft in the game. When the time comes we will be seeing F-16s and F-18s running around every NATO/Western nation tree for premium aircraft. With that, Sweden will get more CAS ability from the Danish and/or Norwegian F-16s as either premiums or whole additions to the main tech tree.
It's so stupid how gaijin decided to copy and paste a bunch of F-16s to China, Italy and Japan but decided to skip Sweden even though they were truly the only one lacking in a useable CAS
For all intensive purposes we wont be getting an improvement to CAS till new modern planes are added. Till then all we can do is hope.

@@perennialEl flare resistance is better and close range turning is also better because the python accelerates too fast for it to turn at close ranges

I could probably dm you a clip of a shot the python couldn’t hit, as for the flare resistance I’m not even sure anymore I’ve heard there are inconsistencies with values in the files and actual performance of things in game which at least from my experience seems to be the case also I haven’t seen any proof of them having the same values I’ve just seen 2 pictures of the same values but neither of them had the missile names so can’t trust it

The issue I see is the pylons are limited the weapons you can get are bad and sweden really doesnt have any decent air options for ground pounding

i get more kills with aim 9J because its got shorter afterburner lifetime and theres less chance that enemies would see the rocket

@@lordtouchme3397pull overload depends on speed, so the more speed the more turn rate rocket will have, like SARHs which are much more faster than IRs but they pull much harder

at this point I say it's justified at 10.7, ik people don't like the idea of all aspect super sonic fighters at 10.7-9.7 but honestly if the kafir c.2 has taught me anything 11.0 is not safe for aircraft with weak engines and low countermeasures.
The only reason I say the kafir is fine at 11.0 is because you get guns and can carry more while the viggen is a suffer wagon that doesn't even have internal guns
the draw backs of the viggen justify a br of 10.7 especially since basically every American aircraft from 9.7+ gets either some flears or a entire airforces worth of flears *cough* a-10 *cough* av-8a *cough*

They can't really do anything right now until the AMRAAM comes, so the 37D can get it. Maybe we could get Gripen A but, probably a little soon yet.

@@noahhuls they never stated specifically the C as far as I know. They only said the Gripen is coming. Even still, it'll be one of the last updates of the year, if it truly does come this year, not entirely sold on that still. Probably will come the Christmas update.
I've also never heard of the 37D having an HMS or HMD.

The 37D is fine where its at, a little high but it does have 24Js so cant really complain, But mainly the AJs is just.. not good where its at right now, I'd like them to lower its BR, Which kind of causes a domino effect

Actually it's a multirole aircraft, but even if it was purely just a strike aircraft, it would still need to be good as a fighter as well to be viable in Air RB.

Its just a limitation of the shitty missions. Real world ajs doctrine was coming in hauling absolute dickass, supersonic, so low the crew chief would be picking small mammal fragments off the leading edges, popping up before the Russians had any Idea you were even in the zip code, dropping an assload of dumb bombs or an entire small nations worth of unguided rockets on a pre-planned target with a few friends and being back over the horizon before ivan was done feeling the blast wave. Alternatively you and several dozen of your best friends were yeeting rb-04s to help convert the baltic fleet into submarines.
See Im actually glad you trashed the viggen in this vid. It dserves to be trash talked because it's literally a 10.3 CAS plane pretending to be a 11.3 only because it has aim9ls that we hardly ever use and it still carries less ground ordinances compared to other 10.3 CAS jets
The fact anyone dies to 54s kind of blows my mind. Just notch the TWS launches and F pole the STT launches.
I have very low success rate with 54a so I'd say it's usually just people who are distracted, afk or low level premium jets.

Why are you dogfighting in this? It is for ground attack. And also, why fly outside the cockpit. You get no feeling like flying the plane.
you literally need to dogfight or do air combat in general to research the ground ordnance... and anything but the rb75s are obsolete at its battle rating which means you have to do a hell of a lot of air combat just to unlock something decent for ground.
