I mean that’s the way you make running exciting. Having one dominant champion from competition to competition usually gets boring. The only reason it wasn’t boring with Bolt was because of his natural star power, and because he was hitting historic times. Most track athletes are not as charismatic as he was.
TLDR, track athletes are boring people, stuff like this makes it exciting.

Right, there are so many world 'elites' right now at the 1500m, that world records could happen regularly. This new bunch is running fast from the very beginning as opposed to running more slowly and trying to rely on the kick.

I’m thinking that Josh Kerr had some time off after the Olympics and had a few too many beers and kebabs then I think he got back into the game as he said he had about three weeks of altitude training before diamond league Zurich. He ran slow in Zurich so I’m guessing during his three weeks of training he was just getting mileage in and not really any speed tuning up work and then he goes and runs this crazy time, yes I know there was a bit of downhill and tailwind. I’m guessing we saw a similar thing with nuguse where he ran not that quick at the road mile he did a few weeks ago but then he went and won the 1500m diamond league. I’m guessing with him he didn’t properly taper and get the right speed work in until Zurich. It just goes to show that a good taper with the intense speed work is very important but it doesn’t take up much of the athletes training. They’re doing higher mileage and less intensity most of the time. Seems like the tapering and specific repetition workouts are like the cherry on top and the decorations. They don’t take much time and you do them at the end of the production but they’re essential for the final product and can be tricky to perfect.

For it not being a WR, based on the criteria for other road races the problem for this course is the elevation drop from start to finish, which is over the 1m drop per 1km that is allowed.
And then the other issue is that the start and finish are not within half the distance of the race from eachother based on a straight path between them.

He means that the scale on the X and Y axes are not equal. Otherwise, at 5280 feet in a mile the X axis would be almost 200 time longer that the Y axis and I would need a much bigger iPhone to read it. The steepness of the up and downs is therefore dramatically exaggerated. Hope that makes sense 👍🏻

I don’t know how no one is explaining this, IT IS NOT THE DOWNHILL THAT MAKES THIS COURSE NOT RECORD ELIGIBLE 😂 the course is point to point. to be eligible the start and finish can’t be more than half the total race distance apart. So for a mile race, the start and finish must be within a half mile of each other. Net downhill is one of the reasons for that rule, but it is not THE reason this course isn’t eligible. How is no one in running media explaining this properly???? 😅

Whilst ingebritsen is the number 1, it's only just. Multiple athletes such as Kerr, nugusse, Hocker, Wightman can beat him in races and he's definitely strongest when he has a pacer rather than a 'genuine tactical race'. Kerr has the tactics and ability to claim gold at next Olympics. At the moment he is best placed to beat ingebritsen and the 1500m, mile, 2 mile, 3000m and 5000m are all really competitive at the moment which is great. The rivalries are all drawing attention and I believe a new middle distance league with 1500m to 10000m distances needs setting up with massive sponsorship and better TV coverage.

Which people are thinking that Jacob avoid meeting Kerr on the road,if anybofy avoid meeting someone of the two,it must be Kerr. Was Kerr in Oslo,in Monaco,in Lausanne,in Silesia? Will he be at the finals in Brussel?I think he can't,because he maybe is not qualified.Asking of why Jacob avoid meeting Kerr in a anonymous race in New York, while he is preparing for the finals at the Diamond League in Brussel, where I think he again will go for a really fast time, because it then will be a new week since his little infection so he will be much more recovered, and may be back in his form from Silesia.

I don't think Ingebrigsen avoids Kerr. Jacob races a lot more than Kerr does. Josh is fairly selective about how often he races.

That would place him 5th all time in the mile on the track. Something seems a little off here, running that slow to begin and nearly breaking the mile world record is impossible.

Hes 6th all time already on the track. Nothing seems off atall tbh exactly what you would expect

Plus the 2nd half all pretty much downhill hence the huge negative split

You'd expect the elevation will have played a part in the second half being so much faster as it's mostly downhill...

Second half is downhill, plus Kerr mentioned that there was a big tailwind. Because it is a linear course, the tailwind would give a sizeable advantage over a span of 800 meters

mate, it was down hill with a tail wind. Curb your enthusiasm

You clearly have done no research, it's not exactly that simple. The course has a hill in the middle. It's not entirely downhill, and the tailwind was unmeasurable seeing as it's an entire mile? Like? Why even say anything when you know nothing at all.

@@jacobdoyle420 Learn better grammar when you insult someone and lay off the 420. There is a reason that course isn't ratified and Giles WR still stands. Kerr ran 1.44m for the last 800m

Calling this his greatest race is crazy, a downhill road race. There's a big reason he lost last week and was beaten by a 19 year old and did not run the Diamond League final and go for a world record there.

Kerr said in the after race interview that he finds it difficult to stay motivated to run at a high level every race. I understood that without Kerr having to explain himself. It's common sense. I don't know what you were going on about.
