I wasn’t surprised that Mondo pulled this off. He’s running faster than 10m/sec when he plants the pole. He’s faster than every pole vaulter in the world and not by a small margin. Much faster. It’s why he’s in a class by himself.
I was surprised he won, I wasn’t surprised he performed insanely well.
So mostly I was surprised Warholm wasn’t faster, after all he is undeniably one hell of a runner himself!
Very cool event nevertheless, and I wish more athletes would do things like this just for the fun of it.
I’m a vaulter and can attest to that. But actually he’s running 10.2m per second with a pole to consistently be jumping over 20ft. The 10m per sec rule was placed back in the early to mid 90s when people were going for 6m. But mondo booming 6.20+ regularly now his plant take off speed is between 10m/s and 10.2m/sec. obviously calculated off time and distance from my own calculations. But it’s close and he isn’t the fastest pole vaulter ever as Ashton Eaton takes that hands down. I watched ashton Eaton take off personally from 16’2” and cleared 5 meters. Mondo has the best technique with the speed for sure. But he isn’t the most athletic to ever jump.
That's why? One of the reasons, I'd say.
@@andrewhughes7642 IV also watched him jump since he was 10, I was in college jumping at the time but, he has put in the time for sure. And had a good coach/dad and mom to help.
I honestly think the Swedish kit looked great on Karsten! I think he should continue wearing it . Its obviously a winning kit ;-)
... It hurts my eyes so much -.-
😂😂😂😂
Exactly the kind of event Track and Field needs in these social media days. The winner Track and Field
I think Red Bull were probably the ones who came out on top........ they are an incessant force of nature when it comes to product placement and advertising around sports.........
I believe Warholm’s 10.47 also broke Flo-Jo’s 10.49.
Yes it’s correct.
They did it without 💉 as well
but he is a man, so just stop!
I saw on UA-cam a 60 something year old guy beat her time as well.
@@chinyeregilberts4217 Precisely
This shows once again that women and men should not compete together.. A pole vaulter that doesn't train as a 100m sprinter crushed every female sprinter that ever lived.. Not even Flo-Jo on steroids would stand a chance..🤔
The direction the world is going they probably will be competing against each other. There are cowardly male trolls that will disguise themselves as women that will do it.
It's no surprise that the young man is fast. In pole vaulting, speed is key to vaulting high. You cannot vault if you're slow. He's the best to ever do it. He might be the fastest! And he sprints carrying a pole!
Exactly. Energy in = energy out (up)
I was very impressed by he's incredible form and speed great start too
And that woman WR had at least a +4.5 wind behind her that day !!!
And some, o no, a lot of dope
So good for the sport! Great fun and great sports!
Sweden and Norway always have had battles in cross country skiing. So having a battle also in track & field are amazing.
But when does Karsten compete as a Swede? He was "hurt" the other day and couldnt compete. But all kids in Norway are learning from day 1 that never compete like a swede😜🤣🤣👍
We are so greatful to having Mondo in team Sweden✌️
I understand he is swedish-american, but Mondo was born and raised in Louisiana lol.
I gues if they would compete on skis, Warholm would win. Norwegians are born with skis on.
Swedes are not bad on skies either and espassually the Swedish ladies are meeting their Norwegian caunterparts at the moment.Bur Mondo was born in the Southern part of the USA and had never reałly seen snow be fore the age of 20.He is also a pole vaulter and must be very carefull or he can get accidents that could ruin him.Well i heard Karsten is 4 years older and he must also be careful so that he does not get more injuries
@@arzdbacksfann38 we know thats why we are greatful that he compete for team Sweden😁👍.
His dad and mom is former pole vaulters and also his granddad in Sweden was a pole voaulter too. So I guess Mondo must be 67%Swede and 33 %American😜👍👍
@@AnneNissen-nk4mh his granddad and grandmom lives in Sweden. He have visit them since he was a little kid. I bet he have seen snow when he was little kid.
The greatest male pole vaulter who ever lived is a faster sprinter than the fastest woman ever. That is not very surprising at all. Non story actually.
The fastest juiced-up woman ever
MEN VS WOMEN? What obsession is it that drives men to (defensively) assert their superiority even when women aren't present. This race was a friendly between two men at the peak of their form -- brilliant! Why not just enjoy that, without trying to bash women?
💯 It's so dumb. Why isn't anyone talking about how these two would be crushed by Lyles?
Because that's dumb too.
As a Swede, it felt so weird seeing Karsten in the Swedish kit, it was just wrong. I can only imagine how it would feel for a Norwegian person.
As a Norwegian person I didn't see Karsten in the Swedish kit.
@@menfaaanda We did and it was a odd but fun moment 😊
Both are the same people. Its just boundary separating you.
@@KenpachiAjax We are very much alike but also not. 1000 + years of different rule. Sweden being Sweden and Norway mostly under Danish rule and later in union with Sweden. We have a love/hate relationship but when push comes to shove we are brothers and sisters 🇸🇪🇧🇻
It hurts my eyes so much
Umm... there are tens of thousands men who are faster than fastest woman ever.
I would have been surprised if Karsten had not found some reason to avoid running 400 mh in the Swedish National track suit , espassually as a Sweden knowing the sport fight that exists between the two countries.
He did show up in it and that must have hurt but that is not the same thing. But ov course 400mh is harder .
Red Bull picked it up big time
This one off event shows that the public wants more of the weird. I would love to see 150m, 200m intermediate hurdles, 300m and 300mH, 600m, 1000m, 1500m steeplechase, throw ladders, jump ladders, hurdle shuttle relays, sprint medley and distance medley relays!!!
Now where talking!
Ladder matches WWE style! 👍
Divine Iheme of the UK is the fastest 14yr old in the world at 10.30sec... set this year. He would have smoked Flo-Jo by at least 2 metres.
So was Warholm
we must consider the possibility that if duplantis decided on sprinting rather than pole he would be the fastest white man of all time
As great as they did in this race, they are still far from being competitive against the best men in the 100m. Many high school athletes have run faster than 10.37. I don't mean to impugn their accomplishments, for this was just meant to be a friendly sort of competition. I do wonder how well Duplantis would do against Warholm in the 400m. Duplantis had a great start in this race, which he never relinquished. Definitely world class athletes here, to be able to run such times.
Norway's most successful track athlete? I think Jakob Ingebrigtsen might have a few things to say about that.
Why are we comparing a man to a woman again? 🤔🤔🤔
So all the woke people understand. You don't mix men and women in sport period.
Exactly
That's the question. Bizarre stuff.
Mondo is a man, Flo-jo was a woman. What is the deal here??
The deal is that many people these days think men and women should be allowed to compete together. And this clearly demonstrates why they shouldn't.
@@heneganov Nobody says that...
It's all just insecure men who needs this for their ego.
This is not surprising.
Gee, big shock. High kids could do the same, and plenty of them. So the point! Women should not have to be made to look inferior when it comes to strength. And movies that show a woman kicking hell out of a man is not reality except in rare cases
If he trains specifically for this event Mondo could shave 2-3 hundreths off that time. I also think he could do 200 in under 21.
Mondo has run 150 meters in 15.58 so he could run 200 in ca 20.80
Sounds like the jumpman sodamite
What's the surprise? 😅
If you can run as fast as flo jo or faster than you are really fast.
Elite High schoolers run faster than the womens 100m record so this isn't that surprising.
pretty sure warholm isnt norways best track athlete
one word - bollocks
Um. So?
severeal thousinds of men can beat any female runners record at any distance beside maybe :) Courtney Dauwalter but she cant stand with some of the best men in same catagory
Testosterone? Its effect on body development?
Here we go with this stupid stuff again.
Hilarious!!!
What is the point of this senseless race?
What is the point of you commenting this on this video? You must be a drag around humans.
for fun
For Warholm to hurt himself probably. It ended up being his last race of the season
@@BaardFigur after the olympics there isn't much reason to compete anyways
What's the point of your comment?
Flo jo in new type track and new shoes would destroy them both....
Dream on.
😂😂😂😂 She was hardly clean when she ran 10.49!
Flo-jo was a good, but not great, pudgy, semi-retired sprinter working as a bank teller when she met her husband, also known as "the man with the pills".
6 months later she was back on the tracks, with muscles popping out everywhere, a deep base voice and a matching mustache.
Not with drug testing
Flo-jo is not even the fastest woman ever. 10:49 was clearly in super-strong wind.
Mondo sportowy geniusz.
