Must of these haters only heard the biggest hits of Slipknot and consider them mainstream and commercial which I believe is absolute BS. Must of them are fans of extreme subgenres and expect Slipknot to be always as heavy as possible. But they never listen to these songs and judge Slipknot blindly. Even u as a hip hop head are way more open minded than they are. Glad to have u back. Enjoy the album
Happy Birthday to your Aiden! My oldest is an Aiden too. This whole album is awesome all around and this is one of my favorite songs from it! A lot of "metal" fans try to hate on Slipknot. They still claim that Slipknot is still just nu metal but to me Slipknot is their own genre. There is a documentary out now on UA-cam call Slipknot unmasked: All Out Life. They did it a few months ago in England. Highly suggest checking it out, it fully explains why they are so awesome. Now if you do watch it, they did a small live show in with it and just to fore worn you Corey does not sound his best. He still sounds awesome but he was sick and had played a full arena show just a few hours before that show so his vocals are a little strained but still awesome. I'll try to find the link to it. Pretty sure you've already reacted to all the songs they play so no spoilers there. 👍🔥
They been hated since day 1 by metal fans cuz they are different, the masks, jumpsuits, the music and the way they performed was something that never been done before
The hate stems from the "heaviness" argument. An argument as old as time among metalheads. Alot of MH's don't actually care if a song sounds good or not, they just think the guitars always need to tuned down low, doesn't matter if the lyrics are shit, the voice sucks or the drummer can't keep the pace up, as long as the guitars are tuned low, they think it's a masterpiece. Slipknot is a variety band....and they hate that. There's also just a general disdain for Nu-metal in the metal community because "it was never cool and never will be" even though it's arguably the best subgenre of metal
Some fans hate them because they are hugely commercially successful. And they often do not dig in deep because they are a "Popular" band so can't be "true" metal.
