That’s a Desert Day: Quail Hunting in New Mexico

- The places Gambel’s and scaled quail call home might be rugged, intimidating, and off the beaten path, but they have the undeniable ability to make upland hunters realize how lucky they are to have bird dogs that compel them to expand their horizon and explore the hidden nooks and crannies that exist throughout the southwest. See for yourself and follow along as onX Hunt’s Ben Brettingen joins Stephanie and friends as they explore the vast tracks of public land that dominate much of New Mexico’s desert quail country.
The skull piercing screeching make this video unwatchable.

Awesome video! We're in AZ and I've been thinking of making the trip to NM for scalies. Have no clue where to start but.... That setter is absolutely gorgeous!!
Lordsburg, Deming and Las Cruces. Scaleys and Gambels 😉
100% Stephanie that shot the first quail, angle of gun, timing of shot, bird dropped before Katie shot. Beautiful birds and great hunt!
For seventeen years i've been sneaking off to go on little hunting trips around the world no i don’t even know what the fuck a quail is
I grew up in New Mexico hunting Scaled quail and Gambles quail, as a young man my Granddad would take me and my younger brother quail hunting with a single shot 410 and no dog... We put some miles on to say the least, but that is still some of my best and most cherished memories with my Granddad and when I can I still go and hunt with my brother and nephew. But we use a dog now and it's the best time ever. Great video folks!
Moved here from Houston living in ABQ. Can you lead me in some good spots?
Yeah! Very cool

Horrible! Why kill such of beautiful bird, it doesn't hurt anybody. Only humans destroyed nature and also themselves.😢
Oh shut up. Birds are food. Nothing wrong with hunting to eat all natural meat. Better for you than store bought.
