I need a Bootsy voice for my car GPS. "Ok, make a left here, but really really careful towards the end, because there are a lot of potholes. Take a look at the trees, I really love the graphics here."
This is both hilarious and amazing. This is one of the most infuriating games ever made, but Bootsy's as calm as Bob Ross painting a landscape. I almost expected him to say, "You don't make mistakes, only happy accidents."
I could see Bootsy as a really good counter to James in AVGN, where he could be a super relaxed pro gamer that can deal with the shitty mechanics in bad games with such a good temperament that it pisses AVGN off.
Swickful Yes, totally! :D Bootsy's zen attitude is not just _90s_, but it's nice on its own. Besides, if we want someone to get mad and curse at the screen, we can watch AVGN and we don't even need to leave the channel. :v
RuggedALAN Thank you dude, I kept trying to think of why watching this felt so familiar and it reminds me of the "How To Score More Points" w/ Skip Rogers VHS.
Man, this channel has been flooding with great content recently! Between this, AVGN, Board James, Jame and Mike Monday's, the live streams and this, this is hands down my favorite UA-cam channel!
Two things here: 1. During the missile section of the Jet Turbo ride, if you stay at the absolute bottom of the screen, you can bypass all the missiles that come from the bottom, so you skip 5/9 of those missiles. 2. During the last section, you don't have to worry about looking back and forth or at the background for lining up to the gaps if you go to the far right of the screen. The barriers travel so fast across the screen that the difference in time that it takes to react between being on the left *or* the right side of the screen is negligible. Keep up the good work. Battletoads is one hell of a hard game.
This video is such a breath of fresh air, it feels like years since I have seen a gaming related video where the host is a genuinely likeable - soft spoken guy and not some overt ridiculous personality shouting or making an ass of himself every two seconds. Bootsy should get into kids programming, his voice, tone and reassurance is very soothing, like a Mr. Rogers or a Bob Ross.
Bootsy's smile at the end is so encouraging. It's like he's saying 'I can do it and so can you'. Really like this series, and I hope he'll continue on with other games in the future.
This channel now has the perfect blend. AVGN is loud and angry, and Bootsy is calm and zen. Not to mention: One person who loves and makes movies, one person that is amazing at drawing, and one person that is amazing at hard video games. Multiple series, like AVGN, Bootsy beats, Board James, James and mike Mondays, etc. Why would anyone not like this channel?
I like this series. One thing I like about this is Bootys isn't trying to be the AVGN. Sometimes AVGN humour is best done by the AVGN. Bootsy is just doing his own thing and his humour is completely calm and it works well. Don't feel pressured into getting angry and swearing because of the channel. Just do your own thing. It works better.
I'm really digging Bootsy's style overall. Calm, collected, and straightforward thoughts that will definitely help inform viewers with what they need to know to get through some of the trickier games out there. I'm happy he's getting involved with more Cinemassacre videos and I certainly hope the trend continues! There is one thing I noticed Bootsy didn't do and I will suggest here as an easier alternative strategy for the "Bomb" portion of Volkmire's Inferno at 9:52. If you hug the bottom of the screen, the bombs will go right through you causing no damage at all. This makes the entire section a lot less difficult because you will only need to worry about the bombs falling and can simply avoid them by moving left and right instead of all eight directions. The only downside to this is the 1up is a bit trickier to grab, but it shouldn't be too hard to get yourself in proper position when the time comes. Hope this benefits someone!
It's been awesome to follow Cinemassacre for all this time and watching the quality grow. You guys seem legit passionate about what you're doing. Keep it up, brothers.
Man the content that comes out of this channel is amazing. It has progressed so much throughout the years. Just continues to get better and better. Always good for a few solid laughs. James, Mike, and Bootsy and others I'm sure, thank you guys for all of your work.
Bootsy, since seeing these videos I've started playing my way through the game and I've gotten to level 6 in just a couple days. Your help has been invaluable so far, thank you!
*Bootsy is actually a pretty talkative and smart guy... glad that he finally got his chance to talk with the audience and show who he really is, unlike how he's been portrayed in earlier AVGN videos with the somewhat limited screen time he received...*
I'm not too sure about the humour in this, but it wasn't too distracting. Bootsy's chilled personality and easy-to-follow advice is what sells this series to me, and that should remain the focus imo.
I like the "artist rendition" of the guy he used to know from school, and how the smell lines appear above him right before they cut away from the picture.
He just needs to do this about every game. Like its so calming, its like your teacher in school with a monotone voice but with bootsy he is actually talking about things you're interested in. Its awesome.
I think the thing I like the most about this series is that I'm not watching a character. Just a guy playing a game and letting me know how he does it.
I'm not even interested in this, but I love the idea. Bootsy deserves more love. He is the most legit aficionado of video games I have seen on the internet in general. Keep it up guys!
Tortuga Rocosa On a side note, I would love to see him play less popular "hard" games like Shatterhand or X-men 2 Clone Wars. It all comes down to memorization and muscle memory, so it's hard to actually gauge how hard a game is. It would also be interesting to see him plow through modern retro games like Shovel Knight. That's just my opinion though.
Bootsy beats tough games and is also a Blue Jays fan...what an oxymoron!! ;) I get past the ice level and always get stuck after it, so this is an intricate level of detail that's interesting to hear and see.
It's been years since I played Battletoads. I have beaten it many times as a kid, and to do it I had done all the things you advise, Bootsy, so, great video!
I'm def digging the Bootsy Plays series. He's very chill and calm when he plays, I'm the complete opposite. I guess that's why I could never make it past the Turbo Tunnel in this damn game lol. I would live to see him play Superman 64. If that game dosent make his blood boil he is truly a machine from the future sent to destroy us all...
Hell fucking ya, new series staring the damn Master himself, Bootsy!! excellent choice in making his own series guys, very fresh. Can't wait until next week!
I love these comments omg, and I dunno I've always wanted bootsy solo videos after seeing him on board James and what not all these years, good job dude, I can't even get past the fourth with save states hah.
A tip for Volkmire's Inferno is that in the missile section, the missiles that come from below can't hurt you if you stay all the way on the bottom of the screen. It's MUCH easier to dodge them from just the one direction.
These are awesome, very helpful and because they just show up in my feed i don't feel like i'm outright cheating by watching these. A Double Dragon video would be greatly appreciated too, mostly just explaining the fighting combos.
hell fucking yeah, new fuckibg series for the channel!?!? Excellent choice to make bootsy the star of him own series that only a master like him can do! Great job Team Nerd.
I need a Bootsy voice for my car GPS.

@Pokute I like your style, dude. Cheers
Battletoads was hard AF but taught me to focus and stay calm under pressure.
I could see Bootsy as a really good counter to James in AVGN, where he could be a super relaxed pro gamer that can deal with the shitty mechanics in bad games with such a good temperament that it pisses AVGN off.
This has a 90s vibe to it lol i like it
Swickful Yes, totally! :D Bootsy's zen attitude is not just _90s_, but it's nice on its own. Besides, if we want someone to get mad and curse at the screen, we can watch AVGN and we don't even need to leave the channel. :v

Czah5 Perhaps Bootsy is the next... *WORLD VIDEO GAME CHAMPION!*
I put off watching all these because I wanted to beat it without help. I definitely missed out. These videos are great. I wish they let him make more.
This is one of the best walkthroughs ever.
Man, this channel has been flooding with great content recently! Between this, AVGN, Board James, Jame and Mike Monday's, the live streams and this, this is hands down my favorite UA-cam channel!
4 years later :(

Your like a guy trying to explain skateboard tricks; what you say makes sense, but I can't fuckin replicate that.
Bootsy's smile at the end is so encouraging. It's like he's saying 'I can do it and so can you'. Really like this series, and I hope he'll continue on with other games in the future.

This game is soo tricky.. but you make it look so easy.. Go bootsy!!! hopefully theres more to come!!
This guy is chill :)
I like the way he breaks each tip and trick down to fundamentals for simplicity and ease of understanding, it's actually quite intuitive
These retro games make modern games look like a walk in the park...
This was frigging awesome. Bootsy seems so humble, but has this vibe of greatness throughout this whole play-through so far. I hope to see more!
I'm really digging Bootsy's style overall. My god Bootsy your like the Bob Ross of video gaming your voice is very soothing as you playing the game. Ill keep watching all your videos:D
Bootsy, I just have to say, you are an awesome addition to the Cinemassacre video-team. Keep booting those beatings, man !!
I love how dry his humor is. This dude is like an encyclopedia of old games. This needs to be a regular series (Bootsy Beats).
This is becoming my new favorite series.
I'm loving your videos Bootsy. Make a whole series of them. A lot of fun reminiscing games like this.
I know this series was designed to help you beat these difficult games, but I think I'm just going to watch it to relax. It's so soothing.
I'm all for more of these. It's calming to listen to Bootsy beat games.
the last jump on the snake level is so unforgiving..
I'm loving these series, please keep them coming!!
Don't stop this series after battletoads, this stuff is great.
Bootsy's voice is so soothing.
I could just listen to this guy all day.
So calm and collected in such tough situations. It is exactly what this country needs. . .Thats it.
BOOTSY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Don't give up, don't get discouraged" - Bootsy. You're my favorite Cinemassacre pal, Boots!
Now this has to be my favorite show on Cinemassacre. Bootsy, you rock! keep it up and greetings from Colombia.
That snake level was seriously just memorization!! Oh man, you are so fun to watch, Bootsy. I definitely could not get through this game. Still can't.
Ah excellent. Bootsy's just the right kind of mellow to take the insanity-making agony out of classic NES games.
*Bootsy is actually a pretty talkative and smart guy... glad that he finally got his chance to talk with the audience and show who he really is, unlike how he's been portrayed in earlier AVGN videos with the somewhat limited screen time he received...*
I've no plans of playing battletoads in the near--or even distant future, but I loved watching this. Can't wait to see more.
Great job Bootsy! I love all the cinemassacre videos. Keep up the great work guys! Thanks for the entertaining videos.
Really great series so far. Bootsy really knew on how to narrate and his explanation is crystal clear.
I'm not too sure about the humour in this, but it wasn't too distracting.
Bootsy's chilled personality and easy-to-follow advice is what sells this series to me, and that should remain the focus imo.

Great video. I loved how calm and informative Bootsy was.
Great work Bootsy. It's about time you get you're own Video segment. Keep it up man. And may the force be with you.
These videos are so relaxing. He's like a videogame Bob Ross
I think the thing I like the most about this series is that I'm not watching a character. Just a guy playing a game and letting me know how he does it.

Dammit, the patience involved, even so many years on, still blows my mind. Amazingly clear-headed execution!!
Been looking forward to part two! I don't even play Battletoads, but I just love how chill and relaxed Bootsy is.
Bootsy seems like such a chilled guy who would be good to have a beer or a smoke with
Becoming one of my favorite parts of Cinemassacre. Bootsy Beats is a VERY welcomed addtion. Keep up the good work, buddy!
This is cool. Very informative. With minimal pomp and circumstance. Bring on more Bootsy.
Bootsy beats tough games and is also a Blue Jays fan...what an oxymoron!! ;)
I get past the ice level and always get stuck after it, so this is an intricate level of detail that's interesting to hear and see.
It's been years since I played Battletoads. I have beaten it many times as a kid, and to do it I had done all the things you advise, Bootsy, so, great video!
These are so chilled and matter of fact. Nice work!
Beating battletoads (no warps, no continues) is worthy of putting it on your resume.
This is a really good series. I'd love to see more of them for all of the notoriously hard games we've all struggled with as kids.
Lovin' this series so far. Can't wait for the next one.
Keep it up, Bootsy!
Keep it up Bootsy you are doing great!
You do the reviews, let the nerd be the nerd, and mike has our gems covered. Quality content!
This better stay a series. I love this so much.
Said this on the previous video, and it's worth repeating: The deadpan delivery of Bootsy is perfect.
For it's time that snake level was pretty damned clever. I always enjoyed the variety in this game.
I think bootsy just reinvented let's plays? This is really amazing, you should do more!
Hell fucking ya, new series staring the damn Master himself, Bootsy!! excellent choice in making his own series guys, very fresh. Can't wait until next week!
Yea bootsy seems cool he is like the only one in cinimassacre that seems like he plays games still for fun and not just his job. Keep it coming man.
Bootsy, you sound like an 80's Army educational video. I love it!
Really enjoying the Bootsy Beats series so far thank you for posting this, really helpful.
Bootsy really is the Bob Ross of video game walkthroughs.
3:47
I'm happy to know I'm not the only one that thought this in my head whenever I climbed those snakes. XD
i dont know why, but i was really excited for part 2!! :)
Bootsy the Best for president
I cant wait to see whats next! I love the style of this show, the comedy is great, its informative and interesting with a cool ass host!
I love these comments omg, and I dunno I've always wanted bootsy solo videos after seeing him on board James and what not all these years, good job dude, I can't even get past the fourth with save states hah.
God damn I could listen to Bootsy read the phone book. Seriously the most soothing voice
A tip for Volkmire's Inferno is that in the missile section, the missiles that come from below can't hurt you if you stay all the way on the bottom of the screen. It's MUCH easier to dodge them from just the one direction.
I love your playthroughs, Bootsy! You have a great voice for these kind of videos.
Love the intro with the thumbs tapping the d pad and buttons to the beat. How I always played too.
I feel like this is exactly what a Battletoads Strategy Tape would have been like in the 90's.
This remind anyone else of Bob Ross? Really digging this series, gives you a really nice relaxed feel.
I really like bootsy. His just so at peace and stays collected. I really hope this becomes a regular thing
This is a really good series. Keep them coming.
This game looks so hard. I can't believe kids could have the patience to beat it back in the day. Relentless!!!
Man Bootsy is awesome, WE NEED MORE!
These are awesome, very helpful and because they just show up in my feed i don't feel like i'm outright cheating by watching these. A Double Dragon video would be greatly appreciated too, mostly just explaining the fighting combos.
bootsy needs a true own series. like a story about how bootsy got the power to beat impossible games
More of boot-si.WE WANT MORE.
hell fucking yeah, new fuckibg series for the channel!?!? Excellent choice to make bootsy the star of him own series that only a master like him can do! Great job Team Nerd.
Watching these videos makes me feel clean and wholesome after watching smut and beheading videos all day.
"What's going on here?" That's hysterical xD
"The joy of gaming, with Bootsy"
I'm so glad for this series. I could never get past stage 5 without a Game Genie.
I didn't expect to like this, but, once I started watching, I couldn't stop.
I'm loving this series so far! Bootsy is the man!
God already loving this series .another great addition to a great channel !
love Bootsy Beats def need more of these videos
Man, the things you have to memorize in this game is crazy! Awesome video man!
Bootsy, you're like the Bob Ross of competitive gaming.
