I love vintage films. New to me. Thanks for sharing with us.
Very good movie. Thanks for posting!
Thank you - I scour UA-cam for just this kind of film! Loved it.
Excellent movie. They may not be all so few over the years, but even so, scarce. Thanks!
Almost 60,000 watched and can’t spare a ‘like’? Shameful. Great job and thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you very much for the upload. Enjoyed it a lot :)
This was really good. Thanks. Lorraine Day and Richardo Montalban nice couple. Two of my favorites ❤
Wow! A movie with lots of stories and a moral to those stories. A story behind most of the main characters. This movie was put together quite well. Thanks for posting! 😷✌
I heartily concur !
Well worth watching, some ver good actors. Thank you!
I was hesitant to watch this movie, I am so glad I did! I thought it was going to be low budget with poor acting and directing. It wasn’t!
Great plot, actors and directing! In a day when people still had some morals! Thank you 🌷
I like that the hairdresser got a credit.🎥
I agree 100 per cent !
@@annapurna2389 Hairdressers always get a screen credit.
People today have neither less nor more morals than people back then. Community standards change and people follow them. Most people are sheep and think that by conforming to such arbitrary standards that they are "free".
@@nedludd7622 Well they have less in the sense that they are conforming to the modern standard, which is to exhibit and follow less moral like behavior.
Enjoyed. Thanks for the upload
So much diferent of what most of us were fed by hollywood the last 70 years. Well, there was a time film makers knew how to tell people´s tale in a bigger scenario as in old dusty out of fashion books. Thanks, Porch.
A good observation, thank you.
This was a really good movie! Thanks for uploading! Love from wine country, California.
" Because the Balance is right." Beautiful bit of psychologically focused writing. So simply explained, the art of corruption. Sections of beautiful acting.

Really enjoyed this movie and liked seeing Montalban, Tomey, and Carlson together....good acting, great story.
Even though Richard Carlson & Regis Toomey were cast outta type, they both did an excellent job here!!
*_Definitely_* a well conceived, well scripted, and well portrayed "little drama" about fundamental *JURY TAMPERING......* 👌
Predictably, buying juries is unfortunately something that occurs far more often than one dares to admit!!!
Really Good cast, with an unusually devious role for Richard Carlson.... 😎
*THX* Porch Goose = Enjoyable.
Jury rigging does not happen “far more often than one dares to admit.” As someone who has worked in the courts for nearly 20 years, I can assure you that such efforts take place very rarely. The penalties are severe.
Thank you for uploading this gem for us to enjoy ! I had never heard of this movie before now. Though it was a low budget picture, I thought the script & the cast were VERY good ! Strange credits, though. The opening credit say its an Allied Artists production. But the closing credit says its "A Universal Picture". Now, there's a mystery for you ! 🙂
Probably an Allied Artists film but released through Universal. I've seen it before, but don't understand how it works.
It looks like it's physically spliced in from another movie. The film gets splicy at that point; even the last line of dialogue jumped.
With several fine, fine stars it's practically an "A" movie. Nov. 13, 2021 (New for me.)
Wow did this movie help me to examine myself. Integrity must come back
Excellent movie,,,
I have a notion to second that emotion !
Smart movie, well acted with an interesting story line.
The movie theater 'witness' (Gordon Peters) was played by Scotty Beckett in his last credited role (he had three uncredited parts over the next couple of years), he started very young with Our Gang (1934) and made a great many films, his biography is a poignant story.
Richard Carlson always reminds me of Phil Hartman.
People hurrying to where they aren't or getting away from where they are. That about sums it up.
Okay, Laraine Day is in this, Ricardo Montalban, too. Herb Vigram was also playing a jury member, I think.
I am still shocked at the cleaning woman on her hands and knees wiping the floor under the table.
What a good worker! 😲
They had mops then but didn’t make handles yet.
A very nice counterbalance to "12 Angry Men." Sometimes the straightforward approach to justice is the ethical approach.
That's the era of The Code of Ethics: the guilty ARE guilty, no one breaks the law and gets away with it under the Hollywood Production Code of Ethics which began in 1933 until 1962 when the founder, a catholic priest, passed away. The extreme moral decline in society has been running pell mell into perdition ever since.
Consider the pedophile evils more worse that its from priest's and cardinals from a so called mother church founded by the 1st Pope.
@@frederickanderson1860 👍
@@frederickanderson1860: Bien parlé mon ami. Priests an' cardinals shalt use Geezus Kraist's words : "Let the little children come to me ...." tae the letter tae find a poor excuse. Or they wilt say'st the magic words as : "That was God's will". In France, we are a-campaignin' tae eradicate Catholicism from French soil an' transform churches into "Cours des Miracles". So in the meantime, keep an eye on thy dear lil' blonde heads an' absolutely refuse the proposals o' the priests tae give free sex education lessons tae thy children. I hadn't seen this film before. It's good; very good. similarities to TAM are obvious....but it does succeed on it's own. A good watch.
One thing I wish is that the boy had been found. So since this is only a story, I can write my own ending. Sooo, the boy is found, the little girl got her new shoes, and the actress becomes famous. 😅😅😅👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌👌👌

I loved this movie. Do you think it was a precursor for the tv series, "Bull" with Michael Weatherly?
Great movie. Too bad it's a fantasy. In real life, rich criminals never get convicted, and witness and jury tampering lawyers never get punished either.
Nonsense.
@@AFaceintheCrowd01: Thou just art a face in the crowd. Too bad....
Très bien parlé ! I'm alrite wi' thee. Thou hath a wisdom eye.
Leona Helmsley was/is rich; she was convicted. She was worth millions.
Your a prince among men.
Do you want everybody to that I can’t support my own family? When I was pregnant, my sister bought me a beautiful, new maternity dress. My husband was furious. Does she think that I can’t support my own wife? Does he even see that it was because that my sister loves me and just wants to give me a gift? His foolish pride gets in the way and perhaps he’s a little bit jealous. Maybe he feels that my love for my sister might come between us. Men, go figure. 🙄🙄🙄
Your husband is a narcissist.
@@sophieseeker6620 Insecure, jealous. Feels unlovable.
Women don't understand how much selfless love a man feels for his family. He will work his butt off for his family and feel pride. What is he if he can't do that? Women can't understand that a good man feels utterly worthless if he is not able to do that.
@@nancyhowell4505 Yes, that insecurity is at the heart of men. We are on the outside. We have to work to earn our worth. Women don't have to do that. Their security is in their womb.
So wot ?
Great story, film and acting by nearly all of the cast. My only beef was the yelling juror. I had to keep turning my volume down. Overacting and one dimensional. He could have made his points and demonstrated his passion and anger with a more nuanced performance.
It's all in the plot.
He beat her, hurt her, threatened to kill her. She struck in self-defense. A false sense of morality. Self-defense is a legitimate defense. Propaganda.

I was born in 1945 and was sentient eleven years later. Believe me, except for Don Larsen of the Yankees pitching a perfect game versus the Dodgers in the World Serious, it was pretty ordinary.
