I love that! I really hope to do very vintage Christmases in the future. I feel like I haven't collected enough specialty ornaments to pull it off just yet. It takes so much time. But little by little I'll get there.
I love this video so much! The small red bows in the Christmas trees look so cute that I may even try them myself this year to see if I like them! As a Scandinavian, I also find it fascinating (but frustrating) when people talk about the "Nordic style Christmas" and refer to beige and white stuff or plane wood "sculptures." In reality, the Christmas decor I've seen from most people is more of a traditional/vintage Christmas that you've shown here. We have stairs in our windows, lit candles, Christmas gnomes, and red stuff everywhere during the holidays, and we are much more traditional than people think.
Browns, dark berry red, and some dark green for me 👌🏽 velvet & knit ornaments as well as chiffon and velvet bows in the same color palette. Also incorporating vintage looking brass bells to tie onto various bows I have added thru out my home. This is my first year going for a theme 🥲 it’s still going to be fairly minimal, and I can’t wait!
I’ve never been into bright in your face colors. Not in what I wear nor my home. Last year I used burgundy and a warm dark green and contrasted it with warm browns and a crisp white. You hit that one in your discussion!
My Christmas tree last year was the prettiest and most fun I've ever done. A real tree hung with warm white lights and vintage notions Ive collected over the years: a tiny old celluloid doll dressed in tartan, tiny old glass medicine bottles, candy canes wrapped in strips of torn fabric, 50-year-old glass ornaments with the red paint wearing off, a child's vintage classroom scissors hanging from red and white striped bakers twine, garlands I made from old buttons from my mom's sewing box and everything was red, green, white or neutral colours. The tree skirt was an old patchwork blanket that had a lot of red in it. It was like great-grandma cleared everything out of her closet and threw it at the tree. I'm not over it yet so I'm going to build on it this year.
A colleague of mine (couple years ago) had decorated their new home mustard and teal in a lot of rooms and she was telling us how she wasnt sure the green and red xmas tree look would work, we told her to literally go for teal and gold ornaments to tie in - it looked soooo good still looked christmas but also tied in so well with her home. I think traditional colours, if you dont have anything in your usual home (so the only red is xmas decor) can look really off. Tying your ddcor in with the colours you have looks so much more sophisticated.
YES! I live in a tiny place, dominated by my blue and yellow furniture and decor, so I have gone all deep green for Christmas. No red, not even any red berries.
My 2024 color palette is brown fur, taupe plaid and black velvet ribbon. I used metallics of copper, and black iron. The dining table is covered in a black tablecloth with and ivory and gold runner. I used black plates and wexford cut glass goblets and serve ware (thrifted). I hung thrifted chandelier crystals on the light over the dining table. I'm calling my theme Rustic Luxe. I used a lot of natural elements (greenery, pinecones) but much more glass than in years past. The black velvet is elegant yet still cozy.
That sounds beautiful 😍 i would love to see it in person! I wish we could all get on a group chat and share our looks. I want so badly to see what everyone comes up with!
I truly enjoy your channel. You are so informative, and the examples you provide are very helpful. Plus, you seem like a sweet and kind person. God bless you and your channel! 😊
Usually I have my mind made up by now for decor, I’ve done brown and maroon and I was thinking I’d do red and green this year but I’m still undecided! The crystal tree seems so beautiful and I have not done that thus far! 😍
That's funny because last year was maroon and brown for me too. This year, I decided on emerald and deep red, but I switched up at the last minute. Choosing is so hard for me because there are so many beautiful options 😩
Love your ideas, I am going with burgundy this year also. No bright reds. My theme is Victorian. I used for ornaments, rocking horse, nutcrackers, silhouette portraits of Victorian age, pocket watches, some playing cards ( queen of hearts ). Oh also some old paper dolls. I purchased battery clip on candles. I found an old doll at garage sale. She looks so perfect in doll stroller .
I wanted an elegant romantic classic Christmas this year so I did all clear glass, crystals and burgundy ribbon bows and a bit of burgundy balls.
Spoiler alert: you and I picked the exact same Christmas look 😂 twins 🫶🏼
I’d love to do the same ! Where did y’all find your crystal ornaments?
@@annlatham Amazon. I got a few different kinds of clear icicles just for variety. I went for plastic because of my cat 😂
40 + years ago, as a young couple with no money, we tied red plaid bows all over the tree, to fill in for the ornaments we could not afford!!
Aww I love that! You were ahead of the trend 😂
I am very traditional/vintagy person when it comes to Christmas, but I must say the glass and crystal tree looks very classy.

That sounds beautiful! Will you be doing the same this year?
I love the vintage Christmas look. I also saw a lot of vintage Halloween this year so that’s definitely in line with
Me too! And yes- love that thrifting and vintage have really taken off in the last few years!

@@susanvelez6534 twins! My tree is mostly glass ones this year with some burgundy ribbon. That’s all. Puerto Ricans think alike 😜

Ten thousand!!!! Congratulations!!!!
YES! Thanks to you all!! So happy 🥰🤍
I'm so done with the bows 😅
My kids and I just got back from getting ornaments. Our tree is not gonna be manicured at all! 😂😂
Hahaha! I cannot wait for Christmases like this 😂🤍
💚🎄🎅♥️
❤
I don't like all of them, so I will stick to my decoration as always
