Don't know when this was recorded, or when you reviewed it. Doc died of diabetes a few years back. He was totally blind from birth. He never had lessons for guitar or voice. He played a right handed guitar upside upside down, as he was left handed. He could only write songs about things he could touch, smell or hear. He is referred to now as Doc, because it is very impolite to refer to a deceased indigenous person by their 'living' name. He,was awarded a Doctorate of Music by the University of Wisconsin during a tour of the USA. His untimely death was a national tragedy.Thank you for offering this song on your channel.
Keep in mind that 50% of aboriginal Aussies have some form of hearing damage. Otitis media is part of life for some communities. So when you listen to Australian languages you'll hear a lot of low frequencies, the higher frequencies are just a supplement. The languages from this man's area will be quite easy to sing, with very few F S H sounds.
i got to meet Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu at my mates farm we sat around the fire and played music with him it was the best night and one that will live with me for ever his voice is so peaceful it put tears to my eyes an had to stop playin the drums
God bless the great man, 🙏RIP🙏 This performance brings the beauty of music, song, and diverse cultures together as one. Just as was intended by the universe. Peace love and perfection, on display here. Gurrumul overcame great adversity to bring us his gift from the heart. Born blind, he taught himself to play a handful of instruments, to become a wonderful artist, as seen on display here. As for Delta... it's cold shower time again 😂
I was looking for a Delta Goodrem reaction video from you and can’t find one. She is worth checking out. She has an amazing voice, writes fantastic songs and plays the piano brilliantly too. Truly talented!
She has learned so much, MUCH better, she was always good, and you can hear the potential all the way back on her first album. But I think she's learned control - and also a bit of 'life' - she's had some real challenges to overcome, and that can give a vocalist something that can't be taught. Sucha beautiful rendition by both artists. Thanks e
Gurrumel was a treasure. His voice is so soulful. As for Delta, she was great too. If you enjoyed this performance, her voice has gotten so much better over the years! I recommend her Global Citizen cover of The Show Must Go On (or her own song Born To Try)!
Gurrumul is blind and his father found an old guitar and brought it home for him. Being blind he didnt know which way to hold it so he in fact plays the guitar upside down. He is a true inspiration who has sadly passed away.
Delta doesn’t sing the songs I like but I can appreciate what an amazing artist she is and her voice is amazing. She is so underrated because of her style of music but omg what a voice and what a beautiful woman.
You probably know @thatsingerreactions - Delta is one of his favourite female singers of all time - she has a phenomenal voice but also a phenomenal story, having battled cancer in her early years and more recently having lost her voice/speech after throat surgery - she had to relearn how to talk and sing.
Delta always had amazing voice even in her younger year's I think back then she used to sing like this more in higher range As for him he has such a unique voice and tones even though don't understand what he singing The way he uses his voice keeps your attention
Beth, I loved your expert analysis and take you did on Gurumul a few years ago. I was going to ask you to analyse this duet as it’s amazing. Delta and Gurumul together is magical and I really enjoy your perspective and professional analysis for laypersons to better understand the technical nuances. Keep it up. Superb. This song remains a highly emotional piece and gets me every time I listen to it, even though the language changes midway.
I respectfully disagree. Professional singer here of 26 years. Delta is stunning but Gurrumul is powerful. She compliments him, she doesn't surpass him.
Did you notice that Gurrumul plays left handed with a right hand guitar upside down. That is apparently how he taught himself to play and has stuck with it.
@@Rick_In_Melb Hendrix guitars were restrung to the usual E A D G B E. Gurrumul's guitar was simply turned upside down (E B G D A E). No restringing. Not so common.
@@Rick_In_Melbthats not common. Hendrix is not common, either. Not hating, I get your point (he's not the first nor only one). But I would add that he is blind and self taught.
Hi Beth, thank you for your reaction video. Even though I don't place some comments sometimes I'm still watching you and being inspired: there are three more songs I've just composed of which you have been the inspiration source. God want you to reach out for your blessing. I'm waiting for you. Be blessed sister.
Yep, incredible, the Believe Again vid is sensational, I can't think of any that are better, it complemented the song beautifully. A very composed and controlled performance. Also Delta, Wings, the Voice, that's a banger. Would also love to see Beth react to Claudia Harrison, the Voice Australia, blonde surfer girl, no singing training at all, 18 years old, wanders in barefoot, sings O Mio Babbino Caro, it's sensational AND funny. And it's TWO songs to critique, for Beth to get her teeth into, the judges demanded another!
very well presented and i love your voice i would like to recommend a band called the Waifs hailing from my area at Cosy Corner here in West Oz, all the best to you and yours from the Aussie Boomer
Why have most of the screen about you, Beth Roars and your mic and surroundings, which is such a waste of space, when most should be on the performance and just a little on your face with your reactions? Your priorities are disappointingly wrong.
It's OK, not everyone "gets" music. Some people struggle to see colour, a few are dyslexic, 10% are left handed and some just don't get music. 50% of people are below average intelligence, that's how averages work. I'm sure you will have your own strengths.

The second half of this song brought me to tears. I have no idea why. It just did

This song is full of beauty…brings tears to my eyes. 🙏💖
He is singing about the love of the land and Delta is just incredible.
Yeah, she’s always been this good. Maybe not when she first started, but she’s been THIS good for a long long time.
So always, or a long time??
Go back 25 years to when she sang on neighbours.
Shes always been good, but like all things, she has really matured and honed her skills with time. She was good before, she's phenomenal now.
God bless the great man, 🙏RIP🙏

Such an angelic and amazing duet. Bravo Delta and Gurrumul!🥰❤🎤 Thank you Beth!
She is singing with Gurrumul in yolngu matha and I miss my cousin's voice RIP 💛🖤
I love this and revisit this performance regularly, it gives me goosebumps every time. It sounds almost religious, just beautiful. Thankyou

I would love to see you react to more of Delta! Her cover of John Farnham’s the You’re the Voice is amazing
Such a great heartfelt song. Deltas voice is flawless

Delta really held back the power in her voice here. To respect Gurrumul.
Proved even more how good a person and a pure heart she has.!
I respectfully disagree. Professional singer here of 26 years. Delta is stunning but Gurrumul is powerful. She compliments him, she doesn't surpass him.
I love the way Delta only uses her vibrato when they are hamonising so she matches his.
She’s been this good for a Lo g time. Magical performance by both ❤
So beautiful voices.

The first album I ever got was “Tribal Voice” by Yothu Yindi. He’s got such a broad repertoire he was on keyboard with them.
Delta's Believe is worthy of reaction.

For Australian singers you should try Diana Rouvas, who was also on the Voice in season 1 then she won S8
Gurrumul is everything.
Love how she deferred to Gurrumul and built her singing around him, using the breathy voice to compliment his gorgeous dusky tone.
Lovely voices
Gurrumul was legally blind and taught himself to play guitar left handed on a right hand guitar (if you look it’s upside down!) RIP ❤
Beth Heavy is another beautiful song by Delta ❤
U have a beautiful voice too by the way 🙏💜
Thank you Heather!
Impresionante cantante wow bien Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
Since you mentioned Delta.., please do the Delta Rae song "The Bottom Of The River". An amazing vocal performance.
Delta is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. Godess.
Its always been her.
the Chinese Voice is fascinating to listen to as well.
Don't understand the words, just FEEL!
two Australian Treasures
very well presented and i love your voice i would like to recommend a band called the Waifs hailing from my area at Cosy Corner here in West Oz, all the best to you and yours from the Aussie Boomer
OH, Lady Beth is looking ultra cute today 🫶
Have you heard "GURRUMUL & BLUE KING BROWN Gathu Mawula Revisited", beautiful!
What you may not be aware of is the Geoffrey is blind and self taught himself to play his guitar upside down!!!
If you haven't you should do Martina McBride - Concrete Angel
Listen to Heavy.
He taught himself to play guitar thats why its upside down and back to front.
RIP Dr G to honour Aboriginal culture to not say the deceased name unless family give permission ❤
Delta's ok. The first duet of this song was done with the sublime Sarah Blasko. IMHO, way better.
Delta is far more than just ‘ok’ in fact she has a beautiful voice as does Sarah Blasko, but Delta has far more range vocally.
To be honest Beth, I've heard many, many better singers on these shows, many better. point
Of course, Delta is a great singer, great voice
She had to learn his language audibly as no aboriginal language, and there are 300 plus of them, is written down.
What's that saying,? Oh. If you can you do, if you can't you teach😁
Why have most of the screen about you, Beth Roars and your mic and surroundings, which is such a waste of space, when most should be on the performance and just a little on your face with your reactions? Your priorities are disappointingly wrong.
Delta has a nauseating voice
I hope that’s just your weird way of making a compliment.

Honestly she has a nauseating personality, but it's absurd to act like she has a bad voice.
@@Hardcastle83 one of the nicest, most genuine and friendly people you could hope to meet. Perhaps it's you.
@@Quinctili No it's definitely lots and lots of people.
This is beautiful, but I preferred his original version with Sarah Blasko. I find that more haunting.
Um yeah she's always been that good lol! Great Pianist too!
