The lyrics truly hit the core of the question about unnecessary human suffering, which is that evil is not just a trait of the enemy; it is deeply embedded within all of us. Thus to even begin dealing with the issue properly, we ought to honestly recognize our own capacity for evil before we start battling the evil in others.
I knew I recognized those particular vocals when I heard this song today, and that nagging question of who was featured is what brought me to this comments section after a few failed websearches! Yup, nope, you're totally right. I miss the old Being sound...
this band are music not only for the ears, but for the soul. The feature spot of Joel Quartuccio definitely adds to this. Silent Planet alongside Being As An Ocean have allowed me to do a lot of self healing and I can only hope others who have felt like I have manage to find release through this band.
Oh My God! So intense, so real, so profound... I do vocals on my band from Brazil, and we're trying to innovate in the metalcore scenery around here... The first band that touched me like this was Underoath in its early years, before Aaron left... but this thing is wonderful. Congratulations for this song and featuring Joel from Being as an Ocean was simply awesome. Excellent work :D God Bless You
Whenever I listen to this song, all I imagine is seeing someone being drawn to repentance, and it stirs that same feeling in me, how I felt when I was drawn to repentance of my sins and convicted in my heart. This was the very first song that I ever heard by you guys and it completely shook my world of music and made me fall in love with this band. God bless you guys.
I kinda thought this band would be just a crappy new band that would be exactly the same as everyone else, but this video sold me! This stuff's pretty awesome!
"And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, "Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost." Luke 23:46. Never in this verse is "mother" mentioned. What mother is Silent Planet talking about when they say, "mother receive me"? Please tell me these guys didnt go Catholic all of a sudden...
Bruce Wayne he said in an interview he says mother because he wanted to show the gentle nature of God or something like that how he cared for his mother mary so much that he made sure someone would take care of her when he died on the cross
Bruce Wayne idk all i know is Garrett said he uses the word Mother to describe christ he said he doesnt believe God is male or a female but he views him as a comforter like the qualities a mother
kirby TFTV. Actually, underoath was misinterpreted as a christian band. The band members were christian, and they may have had some christian ideals written into their songs, but the lead singer said in an interview that "We are all christians in a band. Not a christian band."
***** this may be true in the later years but from 1997-2003 with Dallas they were a christian band. They even had a lyric that said "jesus christ, I love you"
***** I think what he was trying to say that he didn't want to alienate certain fans of the band by being labeled as a "Christian" band. They would limit their potential fan base and ministry opportunities if they did.
I've been trying to get into this band for a while, always hear people talking about how good they are. I just can't do it though, not sure why people praise these guys so much, nothing that hasn't been done 100 times already.
They have a different kind of emotion, and they portray their message in a more poetic, spiritual way. That's what draws me to them. Go see them live, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Their passion on stage for music is phenomenal. And they're some of the nicest people i've ever met
What's up guys! We are The Death In Me. A Metal/Hardcore band based out of Raleigh NC. If you enjoy Silent Planet, you may enjoy us! If you are looking for some new jams to listen to - we have all our songs from our debut EP Dead Bones up on our page! If you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes of your time to check it out, that would mean the world to us. You may find some new music to listen to ;) Let us know what you think! We would love to talk to you guys! Much love - The Death In Me
They have always switched instruments in the beginning, Thomas played guitar and keys live at first. There was also Ryan who played guitar and another Garret that played bass, then when Mitch and Igor joined Silent Planet they filled in their touring positions as bassist and guitarist as Ryan and Garret were no longer active in Silent Planet and Spencer (ginger) doesn't like touring so he stays home writing the music. Thomas and Mitch ended up switching instruments and that's the way it's been for the past two years. And Igor left too.
this is a crazy talented band, I don't understand why the singer screams the whole way thru the song. I would scream out parts in my band to get a point across, for dramatic affect. .like korn does of systems of a down did.
Absolutely phenomenal musicians with a drive only matched by their peers, God bless these musicians and may their music touch those in need of healing
Yes.
The lyrics truly hit the core of the question about unnecessary human suffering, which is that evil is not just a trait of the enemy; it is deeply embedded within all of us. Best song they have ever done ,still years later!
Solid state is so lucky they got silent planet.
Yeah glad Rise didn't get their hands on em!
I don't think they would have gone to rise. They probably would have ended up with Tooth & Nail
What about Tooth & Nail?
Or Facedown?
or God forbid Victory Records
I never knew this song had Joel from Being as an Ocean in it until I seen the video. Holy crap.
I knew I recognized those particular vocals when I heard this song today, and that nagging question of who was featured is what brought me to this comments section after a few failed websearches! Yup, nope, you're totally right. I miss the old Being sound...
No matter how many times I return to this song, I always end up getting the chills

Kebabugn haha that's exactly how I found these guys. then they turned out to be my favourite band of all time probably
I watched Silent Planet live last week, they were amzing! I encourage everyone to see them live if you have the chance.
This band is even more incredible live. So much true passion in the music.
Lyrics that punch you right in chest. Amazing!

Silent Planet alongside Being As An Ocean have allowed me to do a lot of self healing and I can only hope others who have felt like I have manage to find release through this band.
I always thought there was an underoath reference, and it makes me really happy to see its confirmed in the lyrics.
Oh My God!
So intense, so real, so profound... I do vocals on my band from Brazil, and we're trying to innovate in the metalcore scenery around here...

Excellent work :D

October 27th with a really good lineup! See you in the pit ;)
It's just so raw..
I love this.
Whenever I listen to this song, all I imagine is seeing someone being drawn to repentance, and it stirs that same feeling in me, how I felt when I was drawn to repentance of my sins and convicted in my heart. This band is going to be fucking HUGE!

Same lol
Epic song!!! One of the best albums of the year!!
So beautiful! Joel sounded sick too
I love how this band uses scripture.
So glad I discovered these guys. They truly have their own unique sound amongst all the other metal/core bands I listen to.
This is amazing! It's cool to see Joel in the music video too!
Holy shit. Garrett and Joel together is crazy!
phenomenal
Was unaware that my two favourite three favourite vocalists were featured in the same song. This is fucking gold
5 years later and I still love this song like it just came out
Your band page liked one of my pics of Instagram so I came to see what you sounded like. You guys are amazing! I'm glad I came to check it out!
Goose bumps every time I hit that replay button.
Man-bun-core. \m/
and Joel...
PERFECT *-*
The best song I've heard all year!
i love the lyrics.
This song is so good.
Forget about this masterpiece
listening in 2020, good song, greetings from Peru
am i the only one who gets sad from listening to this song?
No.
no u are not ... This is very emotional for me
Given the lyrical content and its meaning, I think it's meant to evoke sadness :(
One of the few songs that makes me tear up.
Wow absolutely everything i could want it too be
OHMYGOSH, ITS JOEL!
Sooo good.
I kinda thought this band would be just a crappy new band that would be exactly the same as everyone else, but this video sold me! This stuff's pretty awesome!
AWESOME song.
Follow the literary trail, these men are good teachers. Thank you.
Saw this band last night. They were fucking amazing!
This band is going to go so far mark my fucking words.
Nice stuff! Wish Joel could sound this sick on his own band LOL
i love it
... beautiful. Thats all i can say. Beautiful
Solid State Records better hold on tight to this band. Just saying.
Bruce Wayne this song is taken from jesus's perspective and how he views mary his mother
J- Rich but why is he saying mother recieve me then?
Bruce Wayne he said in an interview he says mother because he wanted to show the gentle nature of God or something like that how he cared for his mother mary so much that he made sure someone would take care of her when he died on the cross
J- Rich could it be like how in the book The Shack, God is represented by a woman?
Bruce Wayne idk all i know is Garrett said he uses the word Mother to describe christ he said he doesnt believe God is male or a female but he views him as a comforter like the qualities a mother
Time to bring it back
Its Zlatan singing!!
So good! \m/
I never realized underoath was mentioned in this song, that is awesome.
could they be the next "underoath" of christian music
Underoath was christian though
They even had a lyric that said "jesus christ, I love you"
Chad DeBeau The interview I saw was from 2012.
***** I think what he was trying to say that he didn't want to alienate certain fans of the band by being labeled as a "Christian" band. They would limit their potential fan base and ministry opportunities if they did.
🔥🔥🔥beautiful 🔥🔥🔥
Pablito de silent planet jajaja
hi dude, the guys of fundacion emmanuel (mexicali ophanage) miss you
Finally some who reminds me of some old school Norma Jean! YES!!!!
This song is beyond beautiful. I cannot stop listening to this. Is there an instrumental version of this?
1st comment!! Love you dudes!! see you tonight in Jacksonville!

Go check out "Depths II"

I still can't believe their on Solid State wow
For me this is way better then underoath
this was 7 years ago holy fuck
before i forget video
Why Thomas plays guitar on the Music Videos, if he plays bass the the record and live?
They have always switched instruments in the beginning, Thomas played guitar and keys live at first. There was also Ryan who played guitar and another Garret that played bass, then when Mitch and Igor joined Silent Planet they filled in their touring positions as bassist and guitarist as Ryan and Garret were no longer active in Silent Planet and Spencer (ginger) doesn't like touring so he stays home writing the music. Thomas and Mitch ended up switching instruments and that's the way it's been for the past two years. And Igor left too.
Thanks ma bro
Oh God
What the heck why they got Mitch playing bass??? Glad he switched to guitar on the new tracks cuz he's killer
i am asking myself the same thing because in my opinion he was always playing guitar..really confusing..didn't noticed this before until today *lol*
What band is that guy from??? The dude that did guest vocals?
Joel from Being As An Ocean
***** They aren't a Christian band. They just have Christian lyrics in some of the songs.
***** And, you left out Silent Planet.
Karv W they're christian dudes in a band together.
Joseph Clarke Some of them are not Christians. In fact, currently I think two are Christians, two aren't, and the other I don't know.
What kind of guitar is Thomas playing?
Krys Lopez some sort of schecter pt i would guess
They've got Geddy Lee on clean vocals.
edited Joel's voice. oh well.
Who is featured?
Joel Quartuccio from Being As An Ocean. Wonderful wonderful dude.
not bad
IMO all their music is brilliant but this their best record....that breakdown @1:26
It seems like Architects
I love Architects but I think Silent Plantet is just a bit better. Both great bands.
is that macklemore on guitar?
What's he yelling about?
Only song by them that I don't like, every other song is amazing.
this is a crazy talented band, I don't understand why the singer screams the whole way thru the song. I would scream out parts in my band to get a point across, for dramatic affect. .like korn does of systems of a down did.
Because this is Prog Metalcore... Vocals are screamed, like ERRA, Volumes, Periphery. I don't see why there is a problem with unclean vocals.
songs like poems need a place to sing /scream and even whisper..
I love to understand the words to the songs as well.
Reality-Eaters bless you pizza guy
Great band, great music, kind of a boing music video (I didn't see clear symbolism like all their other videos)
Nevermind on the boring part, this video captures the band's stage presence really well!
Nighlife filter
I love silent planet but can’t stand this one song.
Omg no. I dont like this at all.
What don't you like? The music video or song?
Video
I like it. It's different.
I liked it when bands had music videos that were more concept based than live jam-outs.
***** then watch native blood or wasteland=)
not everybody is the concept based guy :/ but i see the point ;)
So glad I discovered these guys. They truly have their own unique sound amongst all the other metal/core bands I listen to.
