      To each his own. They both have a place. We have quest 3, Quest Pros, Pimax Crystal even apple vision pro....
      VR is in no shape or form NEARLY as crisp or as clean as a 4k screen. Its not even close.

      We will be doing vidos in the near future with all of these.

      Few things - If you actually look up subwoofer placement - They are best placed at ear level. Most people THINK its the floor but this is only because of ease and most people not willing to mount to the wall. If you look at theatres and more, they are all wall mounted at higher levels.

      VR is still too wonky for a casual non-computer guy. Too many variables that can go wrong and result in a bad experience. I'm saying that as a primarily VR simracer. I'm OK to put up with that because of the immersion and better car control it gives me, but for an average Joe (no pun intended, lol) VR is probably too much hassle

    I dont care how many TV's you have, VR is just miles better in every aspect except resolution. VR puts in you IN the car in full 3D. Doesnt feel like a game, but actually driving a car. Flat screen Sims you still see the outside world and are not nearly as immersive... Other than that this looks insane

    • @podium1racing
      @podium1racing  3 місяці тому

      We have and use both and reasons why people choose one over the other….
      The worst part is you haven’t tried this so wouldn’t know. In ways, it’s way better than VR, in others VR is better
      For a sim in a place with many people using it, screens are much better.
      For people who aren’t constantly glued to screens, motion sickness is much easier to manage for people with screens.
      In any case, very easy to plug in a meta quest 3 and use it.
      Also don’t forget you can do more than just race on these. Games like COD / hell divers etc don’t support VR but can do triples no problem.

    I'm sort of confused. What was the reason for mounting the subwoofer behind the monitors and the speakers below the monitors. The best immersion would come from the speakers being mounted above the monitors angled down towards the user and the subwoofer being situated depending on the specific rooms acoustics (whatever placement results in the strongest bass resonance). Also, the rear L/R speakers should be mounted to the rig just behind the head at ear level. With this setup, the only reason to have speakers at 180 degrees is with 7.1 surround and even then they should still be above the monitors angled towards the user.
