When I read the Bible now, all I see is the scene in the chosen. You did an amazing job. My favourite scenes are with James not being cured and the Roman soldier having his son cured when he said just say the word and he will be cured. Every episode there seems to be a scene that brings tears to my eyes. I believe this is the Holy Spirit being moved inside me. Well done and thank you.
One thing The Chosen did for me, was that it helped me understand the Pharisees more. I used to think of them as accusers and fanatics, who was an adversary to Christ, but The Chosen helped me understand the dilemma each individual pharisee had found themselves in, confronted with Christ and how hard that must have been, in context of the world they lived in.
Jonathan Roumie is hands down one of the best actors of our time. He was clearly hand picked by God for such an epic TV series as The Chosen that is changing lives around the globe.

36:00 this is spot on the image of Jesus I was taught. I struggled all my life bc I *believed* in Jesus, but I never felt like I was enough or deserving of his love and mercy. At 31 years old I started reading through the New Testament (for the first time ever) while also watching The Chosen. The way that Jonathan not only humanized Jesus, but portrayed Jesus as the kind and loving being that He is brought me to a *relationship* with Jesus that was always missing from my life. My children and I will be coming into the catholic church Easter 2025 ❤ praying daily that my husband will join us.
Two of the people who have helped change my life most! I found the Chosen when I was exiting New Age and starting to read my Bible again - each episode leaves me in thankful tears and brings Scripture to life so vibrantly. And I have learned so much about Catholicism through your podcast that I’ve started RCIA this past week! I mentioned the impact of Pints with Aquinas at the first meeting and nearly everyone shared the sentiment - people from 18 to 80 years old! Thank you both for your faithfulness in your callings, it has blessed my life through & through - and I am sure many from around the world will say the same when all is fully known in heaven one day. God bless 🤍🤍🤍
I’m so grateful for your story of how your life was changed so radically. I am going through the worst time of my life and I’m trying to survive it through prayer. I converted very recently and had been a little confused by the Marian stuff, but I took up the rosary a month or two before we lost our home and I have never felt more divinely supported. I’m finding profound inspiration for a pet project I now want to turn into a business venture and I am staying out of the psych ward after 8 suicide attempts throughout my life for situations far less trying than this one. You are singing my song!

@@mR-dc4oq a lot of people with depression symptoms don’t recognize the low hanging fruit like movement, nutrition, etc, but I also think that this reality has created an equally problematic situation in which many healthy folks believe that ALL depression is a motivation issue. I have noticed a greater number of people who will suggest lifestyle changes and a therapist, and if I bother to continue the conversation with what I have actually already been doing, I become a liar, a victim, a loser, etc. I’m not saying that’s what you meant! I just like to underscore the importance (for the sake of plastering this soapbox in the public domain) of not necessarily assuming that depression is mandatorily a result of laziness/poor motivation/ lack of mental health resources. I was a competitive runner and swimmer, for example, and I had been in therapy from elementary on. Nothing has ever helped. And I would say it still kinda sucks like that, it didn’t get better or anything. But it’s like after developing a real relationship with Christ and dedicating myself to continuing progress, He’s met me in the mud and even though the pain still exists, I am able to keep afloat because I have a reason for hope, even if my entire life ends up being garbage. I am also really big on thank you prayers! 😊

Literally, ONE MINUTE before I got the email for the premier of this video on UA-cam, I had asked my husband about it and if it was out. And now his message of Surrender... Wow... What I LOVE about The Chosen is that when I read the gospels now they’re not black words on a white page. They’re in COLOR, with scenes added!! AND reading the Beatitudes is a whole new experience!! I’m not an imaginative person. But my Bible is alive now thanks to this series!! I don’t want it to end. I am not looking forward to the crucifixion. It has hurt me terribly watching it before, but after 5 full seasons it’s going to hurt a lot more. I am hoping that they continue into the book of Acts, after Dallas sleeps for a year. I don’t think he’ll be gone that long. Thank you, Jonathan!! You are the best Jesus of my life. Thanks Matt for having him on. GREAT SHOW gentlemen!! 🙏🏼🌈❤️🕊🐾
Agreed. Also Roumie’s Sarcastic Jesus has completely changed how I read the Gospels. “What? Did you think I’d come back and say, “Keep doing what you’ve been doing for 2000 years; it’s been great!” ?” 😂
I pray for Jonathan, Dallas, and the entire cast and crew and their families, several times a day...to be led, strengthened, blessed and protected. I have loved Jesus since I was a baby, but the Chosen and Jonathan have transformed deeply my relationship with Jesus. Life changing. Thank you, Jonathan, for your hard and prayerful work. I love Hallow, too, because i pray all the time in the car now, for instance! Praise You, Jesus!!
I found it interesting that he actually believes/fears that when the show is over, he won't be walking with his best friend and expects he will be depressed. There is no doubt Our Lord has a plan for another major project--whether it be personal or professional--where he can continue to lean on Him every step of the way. I think it's just called "Life"!
There is no one more committed and humble than this man. I don't think he is "afraid" - he will just not be playing Jesus after the show wraps. How do you follow THAT acting job?? But no matter what, his love and gratitude to God will not waver. That is evident in every interview he gives. The documentary he talks about, "Jonathan and Jesus" on Amazon Prime is so beautiful. So worth the watch. May God continue to bless him.
I think this is the best interview with Jonathan Roumie of "The Chosen" I've seen. I've Sen many interviews of his. Matt seems to ask more insightful questions & his observations are more indepth. I will continue to pray for Mr. Roumie as he begins the intense filming for Season 6. May God Bless everyone involved with this project. May God inspire Dallas Jenkins to continue this project beyond Season 7!
I wonder how many people have been brought to/back to the church because of The Chosen and Jonathan's portrayal. I have to imagine this work of holiness would change someone, maybe forever.
Surrender, surrender, my last time personally, was when I was staring to drink a beer a day , marriage was not doing good, and then 2 beers a day, my family have an alcohol problem, so I started to think about this addiction in my family and how I have addicted tendencies , so I wanted to stop, but I could not, I would say, it is just one. Then I had that prayer- God I can not on my own, only You can, help me, give me strength!- so three days later I found out I was pregnant, that was my strength, my baby was not alive at 8 weeks, but he or she did the work of God. His/her life was the strength that God sent to me to say no to alcohol.
“I wish there was a way of knowing you were in the good old days before you left them” - Great quote from The Office. Love The Chosen ❤ Hope they film a spinoff to The Chosen after they complete all the series! Beautiful interview with Jonathan Roumie ✨
Jonathan Roumie is a very interesting guy and I was inspired by his dedication to his craft, the seriousness with which he approaches playing the role of Jesus and his strong Catholic faith
We just love the chosen and what surprised me the most even my husband who is pretty gnostic-dualistic-rational-problemsover-type can’t stop watching it. Praise the Lord!
@@mrmcface713 yes, that sounds right to me. 😅 I use the word bc gnostics believe that the mind, thoughts and feelings are more powerful then our body. This is just one aspect of gnosticism that puts the mind and knowledge above everything else.

Is that a miraculous medal around Jonathan’s neck?! I wear a cross and miraculous medal everyday! My miraculous medals been around my neck for over 20 years and my devotion to the blessed mother has definitely brought me closer to Jesus and deepened my faith and understanding of the Catholic faith. It’s truly an awesome gift.
I was praying a Rosary in the Cathedral one afternoon and a woman came up to me and gave me a Miraculous Medal... I was a recent revert to Catholicism and unfamiliar with many things. I began learning about the Miraculous Medal and have worn it alongside the Crucifix ever since ❤
Whitney Houston went to Catholic schools as a child. While not a convert, I saw a photo of her once at Disney World wearing the Miraculous Medal. Please join me in praying for her soul.
I am a Protestant who believes in the rapture of the church prior to the final tribulation. (I know not everyone believes this but just in case, bear with me.) I keep thinking this show will still be available for those not raptured & I can't help but wonder if it will be a part of bringing tribulation saints to belief, even under threat of death. There's a reason God brought all these people and their varieties of faith together when He did. Each actor and crew member has their own unique story about joining this project and this particular cast & crew did not come together by accident. I firmly believe that. JMO. 😊
I had to pause and appreciate your "affection for Christ" comment. I feel that sums up a large part of The Chosen experience for me. Experiencing his humanity in scenes with his mom, the conversation with Lazarus before he went to Jerusalem and so many moments gives opportunity for so many emotions of loving Jesus to surface. That one little comment was so impactful. Thank you.
Haven't seen the last supper scene, of course, but knew that would be the scene he would want to last. There could be no other. I saw him at the Eucharistic Congress. His passion for Christ still coming through. After all, this is our source and summit of our faith. This, the Eucharist, is our breath of life. And Jonathan knows this.
I am also working on my words!! When the devil irritates me or when I’m tired & all these little obstacles get in my way, the words just fly out of my mouth 🤦🏻♀️ Constantly asking God to forgive my foul mouth 🙏🏻
It totally sense what Jonathan explained in the beginning about how his memory is not the greatest because many people who have been experiencing trauma and sufferings have been sharing their stories with him. When you are receiving this kind of information in mass, it is overwhelming. I worked as a teacher in an inner city school for three years, where most of the children were suffering daily because of poverty, community violence, etc. I was so exhausted and drained every day and needed lots of solitude to recoup afterwards. The most I could do was offer love and support to these children, but it takes a toll! I understand you Jonathan, and remember your teachers, healthcare workers, and all those who work in the care industry. It is hard work!
Its hard for us to put on Christ that we follow its even harder for those who are to show us of him across the nation and the world. He said we are to put on Christ everyday. So jonathan you are putting on Christ to show us what Jesus was asking of us. Your human like us all but we thank you for your hard work in putting on Jesus. The garb goes on but when it comes off you are his child in your complete humaness like us all. You have stretched the door of your heart wide to let him in for us to hear. He is there for you to. God bless you in this very hard endeavor that blesses you and I. Amen
Wow. This was such a wonderful interview. An absolute joy to watch! Thank you Matt for being such a great host, for asking so many insightful questions, and thank you Jonathan for being such a kind, honest soul. May God bless you and your family Matt, and may God bless you, Jonathan, and the entire cast and crew of The Chosen. Hope you’re all getting some well deserved rest before S6.
I started watching the show a few weeks back. I’m slow to watch shows and movies so I’m glad this is free to watch forever and ever. I started season 2 and I’m thankful to have another medium to get to know Jesus. I’ve also been reading Chronicles of Narnia and it’s been another beautiful way for me to get to know Jesus.

You have entered the hearts of people dear Jonathan, a beautiful person like you could not be otherwise. Thank you, MAY THE LORD ALWAYS ACCOMPANI YOU.❤😊
The one thing about practicing holiness, it's just as much disciplining yourself through your faults rather than receiving forgiveness. When it's time for change, we have to be humble enough to admit it, then change.
Peter is my favorite bible character and I truly believe Jesus chose Peter because Peter was such a trainwreck, he was so very human and sinful, that he is the one so many of us can truly relate to. Peter is the perfect example to show us the amazing depth of Gods mercy and Grace and shows us that if Peter could be transformed, we can absolutely believe that we can be too. Watching peters transformation in Christ is nothing short of beautiful and so full of hope for all of us that know we are not worthy.
I have been a huge fan of the Chosen since season 1 came out. Therefore, I have watched many Jonathan Roumie interviews. This was the best interview I’ve watched so far! It’s beautiful to see Jonathan’s faith journey. I am inspired to surrender my life completely and totally to God as he is demonstrating.
I'm glad he touched on the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It's mindblowing how Prots do not believe it, when it is multiple times underlined in Scripture itself, the Church Fathers wrote on it, and nobody questioned it until Luther came along in the middle ages. Come on, man! We have Eucharistic miracles and I had my own personal experiences with the power of the Eucharist. It is so incredibly important! That's the whole reason for Mass! The Bible says so: "They met on the first day of the week (Sunday) and broke bread". Paul writes whoever eats it unworthily, eats condemnation upon himself. It's clear as day. What a blessing and grace to be able to become one with the Lord.
@@libertasinveritas3198 Remember what TV Jesus said to Rabbi Akiva, “It doesn’t matter what is put in front of you, you will reject it.” Protestant’s have been given every chance to see, accept, and believe in the Real Presence. They and others CHOOSE to reject it. Pray for them.
As a "prots" (never heard that term before lol). Thanks for sharing! I think it's just ignorance. I have no idea where to start to learn more about this. Any recommendations? Growing up, I felt that our little grape juice and cracker were not doing enough justice to the moment!

Many Protestants do believe in the real presence. Catholics always complain that prots misinterpret their views and then Catholics turn around and do the same thing.

Thank you so much for your prayers! It most certainly will be!! Praise be to God 🙌🏻

Give me what I need, so people can see who You are. This is a profound prayer
Thank you Holy Spirit for giving every actor what they needed when they needed it.
As Orthodox man, I have to say that "his" Jesus is best ever on screen. Congrats.
Take care and may God be with you.

🙏🏼🌈❤️🕊🐾
@pattichapman7296 I completely agree with you...such a beautiful gift to be blessed with...I feel more connected to Jesus and the apostles 🥰
No. It's a fake version of the gospel from Mormons and sodomites, and chock full of blasphemy and bad theology. Just read the book and get the truth.
Absolutely! Same for me! ❤
Agreed. Also Roumie’s Sarcastic Jesus has completely changed how I read the Gospels.
“What? Did you think I’d come back and say, “Keep doing what you’ve been doing for 2000 years; it’s been great!” ?” 😂
For real. The style it's written in makes it sound so flat to me but The Chosen brought it to life.
42:35 "Give me what i need, so people can see who You are" - What a great prayer ❤
Amen, cover them in prayer 🙏 praise God. God will bless you for doing this. 🙏 😊
I love this man for his authenticity. He helps me love Jesus more.
I wonder how many people have been brought to/back to the church because of The Chosen and Jonathan's portrayal. I have to imagine this work of holiness would change someone, maybe forever.
best Playing Jesus ever, I fell in Love with the Love of Jesus all over again!
The scene that made me cry was the one you call Mary the Magdalena by name. I melt every time.

Huge fan of the Chosen. Mr. Roumie is the reason I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet every Friday (and the Rosary and Angelus everyday). Awesome episode.

Thank you.
Thank you both for your beautiful words! God bless.
This is a wonderful interview! Well done, both of you!

Thank you for having a wonderful conversation with Jonathan. So enjoyable to hear such a love filled humble human in this day and age.

The chosen has touched so much hearts.❤
