- In today's video you will see how I fix the garage opener light issue that I had!
Sometimes we think things are damaged and needs replacement. In initial part of my video, you'll see how fast my issue was solved.
After I solved it, I went ahead and used some left over hardware that I had from the Barina lights that I already had installed in my garage.

Neither of the lights in my garage door opener were working. New bulbs didn’t help. I checked the owner’s manual and no help there.
Then I turned to UA-cam and found your tip about bending out the contact tabs. I unplugged, bent out the tabs and BINGO!!! It worked! You saved me a call to an electrician. Thanks! Much appreciated!! 👏🏼👍🏼👊🏼💪🏼

Hey, thanks for this info! I had one side of my opener out as well and was looking up how to replace the socket when I found your video! I carefully pryed out the little metal piece (after unplugging, of course! lol!) and rubbed it with some sandpaper. After that I put in a new bulb and plugged it back in… viola!!! Appreciate the advice!!

I really appreciate it! I slightly bent the contact up with a flathead like you showed and cleaned it with a little hydrogen peroxide. I had to use a halogen bulb as I we cannot get the old incandescent bulbs anymore. It works perfectly now. Thanks!💡

I have the same unit, had the same issue. This was the exact fix. IN my case the contact was not corroded or oxidized, but it was bent back in the socket and no longer making good contact with the back of the bulb. I pried it forward and voila, light goes on. Thank you!!

What you're saying made me think of the idea of using a motion sensor instead of a standard switch for the ceiling lights. I have fluorescent ceiling lights and now whenever the garage door opens, the ceiling lights will go on. BTW, your fix of cleaning the contacts worked! Thanks!!

Yup...fixed my light...ceiling water leak had shorted the bulb and left black stuff on the contact...scraped off easily et voila...works now! Considering your enhanced lighting...looks pretty easy too...any suggestions for insulating space above dry wall and house?

My problem is I have a myQ video keypad, and when my led lights are plugged in, it will not work but when I unplug the lights it works great I like my leds when my garage door is opening and idea's on how to fix this problem

I accidentally knocked into my light bulb with a huge empty box. It broke the bulb + the housing is hanging off. I put new bulb in, reset circuit breaker and it's not working. Even the light on the wall went out ...im afraid it's not repairable

Led should not be used in garage door opener . They emit a different frequency.
