    OOiiiii...stop giving away and telling people how good SA is. Summer we spend in Eyre peninsular and there is bugger all people there. Let everyone go to humid/wet QLD.Best weather is in SA during the summer. Anyway, have a great Xmas break with your family, see you in the new year I'm off to SA for 3 weeks(shhh its a secret!)

    I think those she shells are actually brought up there by birds. I think they drop them from from the air to break them. I was at a similar cliff full of seashells in coffin bay, but there were a few fresh ones, with the slug still inside. That's the best explanation I have for how seashells get up a cliff.

      hm that would be an option, there are certainly many thousands of them...

    Wow, what a great adventure. Beautiful scenery and perfect places to camp. Top notch filming too, makes me realise that I should get my drone out of moth balls and use it a bit more.

    Hahah, those shells on to on the cliff were dropped there by the birds who who pick them up off the reefs at low tide mate 😂
    The birds would pick it up then fly up high, then drop them, breaking the shell and eating what’s inside.

    Love Fowlers Bay. Spent a lot of time there over the years and it never fails to impress. Can't say the same about the BFG MT3's - was so happy to get rid of mine. Rolled off the bead at 14psi way too much especially in sand. They dont like low pressures due to sidewall thickness. Keep up the good work.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  3 роки тому

      strange would say also depends on rims, have a look how much Desert and Sand I have done on my KM3 cross country, super low pressure and have yet to loose a bead.

    Stockton used to be excellent when you could drive the huge dunes that are off limits now. These days it's not worth going anymore, all the dunes south of Lavis are tiny in comparison. They've ruined Blacksmiths by stopping dune access as well. Now it looks like I have to drive 2 days solid to get to some decent dunes down in Fowlers Bay, thanks for the heads up. Beachport to Robe is a good run with dunes out the back as well.

    great vid, great spot, love it there, ive just replaced my maxiss razr's with kumho AT52s, at 235/85, much narrower and higher, but fantastic on sand with 18psi, much harder to bog than wide profile ,much longer footprint,and better ground clearance. i live in the high country,so they see mountains,beach and everything between, best value for money, your thoughts ??,cheers

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  10 місяців тому

      Sounds great!, will be just hard to get a replacement for the size. I find width does not make make much difference overall diameter counts a little wider or narrow does not matter much.

    just a bit jealous , great series , i would say that shell pile could be an ancient aboriginal gathering shell midden , they would eat the shellfish and put them in one pile , like a dump or tip

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  3 роки тому +1

      yes I'm quite familiar with middens, very exposed site though and all over the headland, definitely possible though.

    • @philg2468
      @philg2468 3 роки тому

      I'm no expert but I'd also guess they are from first nations people - they have been feeding on shellfish there for tens of thousands of years and that particular area is very prone to erosion. Worth reading the SA Govt Management plans for the area - they usually have detail on the aboriginal history, culture and plans for the future. www.environment.sa.gov.au/files/sharedassets/public/park_management/yellabinna-warna-manda-parks-management-plan-2019.pdf

    Moinsen Stefan, very well done again!!!! Gives very good vibes for the coming days !!!
    Well known that you spend countless hours to shoot and prep such fantastic good looking videos!
    But I got now a very serious question for you: In nearly every video you come up with this ready mix dry food. Did the sponsor gave you a 1000 bag pallet box of it? And you hardly can’t finish it off before expiry date with your mates??? Hahaha....
    you will work your jetboil to dead with it ! Well know that you are not a cooking channel and not a can-food lover like others ( horrible for Australia) but would like To see you prepping a decent big meal !
    How about roasting or slow cooking a whole Lamm? No need equipment for it! Just do it cave men style or Mongolian style ? Have a feast on it and for at least 3 days meat supply, even as cold cut for breakfast ok.
    Cheers and Frohe Weihnachten und Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr..

      @AlloffroadAu  3 роки тому

      Lol you won’t believe it after I got a got amount for the Canning I asked for another lot for this trip. Dave tested a few when we where on the Canning and bought it exclusively for this trip. I still had some prepared frozen meals with me but given we had a few pub meals i think I only cooked two of them. I doubt you will ever see me cooking a leg of lamb 🐑 (don’t get me wrong I love it) but to much work and preparation and at a time where I most busy filming.

      Yes mate beside Fowlers bay non of the upcoming stuff will be named and no maps shown so people would need to do fair bit of research to get there. Mind you the upcoming pin striping will keep most modern car owners away.

    Another awesome video mate, i also have used mainly bfg mud tyres, but i just changed to maxxis razr only because I couldn’t get the bfg tyres until next year. Also a lot of tyre shops i went to , nobody recommends bfg any more 🤷‍♂️. Anyway i am going to see how these go , but I know i can trust bfg, my last set i put them through heaps and they performed excellent.

    Regarding maps, the SA Dept of Environmment encourage you to download the pdf maps of their Parks using an app called Avenza maps - simple download to your phone and it will have the tracks they recommend and your location is given by a blue dot - similar to other mapping software.

      Telstra + celfi-go = full 4g vs no reception, pays to have an optus modem as well, as some places like on the oodnadatta track only have optus reception.

    02:15 Third party providers, like Aldi, don't provide coverage in Telstra's "small cell areas". That said, while travelling the East Pilbarra and Kimberley last year, my Cel-Fi Go boosted Telstra SIM would be, sometimes to often mute, in remote areas but the wife's first-party Vodaphone SIM would go "bing" in the most remote places!

    • @mauricebaldi2655
      @mauricebaldi2655 3 роки тому

      Fantastic Dunes Stefan and great images Scott......Vodaphone has buggar all coverage in remote area's especially NT and WA and the least coverage in Australia Telstra wins hands down . Boost Mobile a Telstra company has the exact same coverage as Telstra minus 5G at a fraction of the cost . Obviously any remote traveller should not rely on a mobile phone . Of the three brands of satphones i own my choice is the Thuraya XT lite, connected 365 for $180

    The shells - got there due to flying fish that fed on crustaceans and beached themselves? Should be able to find their teeth and bones with the shells...😛
