Oh I am so glad you didn’t give in to Miss Perfect! You are my favorite knitting podcast to watch! I lived in Germany in the 1980’s and was always in awe of how beautifully English rolled from my neighbor’s mouths. Like you, they were always apologetic because of their “poor” English. Meanwhile I was struggling to put a sentence together in German just to ask the price of an item at the bakery…I would love to speak Dutch (or any language) as well as you speak English. Keep following your heart, and tell Miss Perfect to go away!

Congratulations! I am not a knitter, I do crochet but I found your channel somehow and I enjoyed your caravan podcast so much that I subscribed just yesterday and I'm just going to pretend that I am the one that put you at 10,000!!! Your raw honesty in speaking about Miss Perfect is a great teaching moment. Sometimes we want to do something but others tell us we can't do that and we take it as a challenge and still try. But when it's your own Miss Perfect telling you, it's much harder and you didn't listen to her and look at you...10,000 subscribers! You have something, something special, a gift, a love, a passion for your channel, for teaching, for knitting, for stepping outside of the box and trying, no matter how scary it may be. Good for you! I look forward to your continued success and I will be going back and watching past videos.

Hello Sarah, I am a regular follower of your podcasts, and I want to thank you for all your time, and devotion to creating these lovely and inspirational knitting and crochet videos. I watch your new ones as soon as they appear. I live in Canada, with my family, we are three daughters, and husband, one daughter still at home. I am retired and mostly knitting and some crochet and sewing are my favorite pastime. all the best to you and I love seeing all your amazing and beautiful creations.

I love that you podcast in English too! For me it is not just the beautiful knitting. My grandparents and many of their siblings immigrated from Holland to the US after WWII. Your accent and the way you talk is just how they would talk. Listening to you brings back many warm childhood feelings for me.

Sarah as we say in Afrikaans, “welgedaan dat jy vasgebyt het!”.
Well done with sticking it out with the English podcast. We have about 4 Afrikaans ladies from SA who also makes podcasts in English and to see them just sparkle after 2 years of just not giving up, is so wonderful to see. I watch yours in NL as well as I understand 95% of what you say, so I get a double dose of Sarah! And most of the words are Afrikaans as well, so yes your podcasts ‘is heel aangenaam’!
Happy knitting and good luck with the hot weather!

Sarah, I am so glad you talked about Miss perfect that sits next to you. I’ve had that same issue for many years. I finally started a little podcast last winter and while it’s growing very slow your talk today was just what I needed. It’s so easy to look at one’s self and say I am not good enough. I am an ER nurse that ended up with long-haul Covid and I started a podcast to try and get my head back in the game. I have knitted for probably about 50 years and I truly think that is one of the main things, along with my wonderful husband that got me through. I’m so glad we both decided to ignore Miss perfect. I still look forward to your episodes every week. You’re doing a fabulous job knitting friend! Kind regards, Karyol.

Yay, you kicked Miss Perfect to the curb 👍. Your worry over 'the cleavage' got a good laugh from me, especially your comment about asking your husband's opinion 😆. Colour choices for the cardigan look so, so good. Please keep on being 'you' as your podcasts have such a natural warmth, humour and charm.

Sarah I'm from Northern Ireland and I'm just watching this episode when you've revealed your 10,000 you tube subscribers, that's fantastic, enjoy it! I'm just new to your channel over the last few weeks and absolutely love hearing your news and catching up on your numerous projects, you are an inspiration to me! I just love your creativity! Your English is great! Thank you for such an amazing channel, especially that shows your love for crochet and knitting, I love both too but I'm nowhere near as good or as capable as as you are but I'm learning from you, picking up little hints and tips as I go through your past episodes. Your style is so gentle and relaxed, very natural. I love too that you show us your 'mistakes' which you turn around with beautiful embroidery! I'm so happy that there are many more inspiring episodes to watch, thank you x

Oh, Sarah! I am SO glad that you started making episodes in English and SO SO glad that you didn’t quit! Those early episodes are where I fell in love with you. You are my absolute favorite knitting UA-camr. I don’t often comment - for the same reason that you don’t often answer comments - but I watch every single one of your episodes and have since the beginning. When you struggle to find the right word, it is so endearing and I am so impressed that you are able to create such inspiring content in a language that is not your native tongue. I speak Spanish in addition to English, but could not make a podcast in Spanish - I don’t even do one in English! Learning from you has changed the way that I approach my knitting. I am much more ready to redo part of an item if I am unhappy with it and modify the pattern to suit me. As a result, I am using all of my knits much more now. Thank you, Sarah, for being willing to let go of your Little Miss Perfect to delight us with your crafty adventures in English. You bring me a lot of joy!

Today was closer to 40c in my part of Texas, USA. And tomorrow is World Wide Knit in Public day. I can promise we won't be outside for very long. Perhaps I will take my knitting to a coffee shop and sit in the air conditioning there. I would-be lost with the AC. I love to hear your Dutchy English and the encouragement to do the things that bring you joy.

I just found your podcast, and enjoy it so very much! I was a teacher, too. I taught kindergarten, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade throughout my 36 years, and loved it very much. I started to crochet when I was 13 years old and started to knit when I was in my early twenties, but stopped because I didn’t have time. When I retired from teaching, I started again. I knit socks. But I am learning to have the confidence to make a sweater. Soon I will start. I watched my first podcast of yours when you were in your caravan….In English we call it a camper. I thought your hair was so gorgeous, I kept staring at it. Then I loved the decor of your camper, and your granny squares, and the way you spoke. Your English is amazingly good. I taught English to two boys from China. They tried to teach me how to speak their language. I could not learn one word. English is not an easy language to learn and I’m impressed with your achievement. A ventilator in English is a fan. And we just put the word not in front of confident to mean the opposite. ( not confident) I hope maybe that helped you a little. Your knitting and crocheting is wonderful! I try to knit continental and struggle, as you do knitting English. I try, but it makes me unhappy, I get tensed up, and then I start to ache. So I figure, just knit like you always do. What is the problem? I am going to go back and watch some of your earlier podcasts. Don’t worry about your English in them. You can just see how much you have improved! Thank you for doing these, and congratulations on your 10,000! ❤

Sarah I have been meaning to comment or DM you for weeks now as I have been LOVING your podcasts and today was a must!!! I grew up in Curaçao which you may know is a Dutch island in the Caribbean. I am American but my best friends on the island were Two Dutch sister Petra and Monique and Sabine originally from the island. Petra and Monique sound exactly like you and were always a bit shy to use their English. We always joked and said we spoke Dinglish!!!! I always reassured them just like I want to reassure you that you should be CONFIDENT using your English because rest assured you speak better English than most of us ever could Dutch!!!
You can’t imagine how much joy you bring to me with each podcast taking me back to those wonderful days!! And I too was a crocheter first then a knitter so we seem to have so much in common, which just warms my heart!! Keep the podcasts coming and please never stop!! We are out here listening and loving every moment!! If you ever need anything just ask!! ❤

You bring so much joy into my life with your podcast! I look forward to the end of my work week when I can sit down and watch your episodes from that week and just relax with my knitting and listen to your lovely voice! I appreciate your humble spirit. I think most people feel incompetent in areas of their lives. I know I struggle daily with feelings of not being good enough, and that can be paralyzing. But then I try to pull up my boot straps and tell myself that it doesn’t matter what other people think! I’m going to start where I am and keep moving forward, even if the progress is slow. For me, I mostly struggle with my weight and body image, but I’m working on it. Doing something is better than nothing! So I appreciate your honesty and sharing your thoughts about working on your English, which is really very good! ❤️ Thank you for sharing with all of us!

It is done that I have progressed a bit my own way of creating my knitting podcast❤ I absorbed everything you shared about the process of getting started with creating an English language. We ladies are so good at talking ourselves down and filling our heads with negative thoughts about our own performance. I now practice every day not to let Mrs.Perfect take over my life anymore, and after I discovered your podcast a month agi, you have been a real door opner ,as we say in Norway, when we suddenly understand what I have to deal with. Thank you for the episodes in English, Sarah! You are such an inspiration, and a fun, charming and wise one, too. I think many of us would benefit from demanding our Miss Perfects to go cleaning or do something else 😄. Kind regards from a Norwegian knitter ❤️

Congratulations on 10 thousand subscribers. Such a cute episode. I also dislike the hot summer temperatures. Thankfully I live in the U.S. where our usual summer Temps are in the low 70s. I'm currently knitting a Flores tee for the summer.

I`m very glad you didn´t stop making these videos. ❤ I found your UA-cam channel just recently and I really enjoy watching it. I come from Finland, and I love to see what people are knitting in other countries. It gives me so much inspiration to my own knitting.

I was freezing in spring in Amsterdam coming from US but I loved it anyway. I agree no air conditioning at that temp is miserable. I too get grumpy! You don’t look too exposed but I understand. I enjoy your projects and getting to know you! Your English is amazing. I was so impressed with the Dutch ability to use English. My Dutch is very limited but they were gracious when I tried a few words. Keep going! Jonelle from Colorado.

I am SO happy you pushed through that negative self-talk (in English or Dutch) neither is true. I am so enjoying binge watching your episodes and look forward to many years to come. Also I hope that the heart-jumping moments continue in all areas of your life. ♥️👏♥️
