I enjoy flying my 1989 B36TC now for 2 years. Great for the 3 hour trip from DFW to AXX and handles the mountain altitude just fine on takeoff. I appreciate the gear over the 210 and my wife likes the convenience of getting in through the cargo doors. Great upgrade from my Tiger.
My flight instructor was a friend of the family and let me sit left seat in his A36 Bonanza one day. Takeoffs and landings from three different airports. After doing all my time in C172 & C182, best 1.5 hours of flying time I've ever had. I still love that I have that line in my pilot logbook.
The early Bonanzas were not subject to the AD. Only a one-time skin thickness test. Mine has been flying 75 trouble-free years. An amazing design and hard to fly without a smile on your face.
I owned a v-tail. The plane could build up speed quickly for those not proficient. Doctors loved the plane, and because of their busy schedule and confidence in themselves, weren’t always that current. I knew some that lost their lives flying them. A navy pilot told me how to reduce elevation without it speeding up. Trim for flying level and then reduce power. The plane would descend without picking up speed. Perfect for IFR approaches
The early V tail 35’s Bonanzas had a 35 pound slug of lead I it’s nose to help out its “Balance issues.” It seems a better alternative should have been a small fundamental design change. I love how it flies and earned my Commercial License in a K-35. As a purist you have to wonder how it could have been improved, sans 35 pound dead weight in the nose.
The Cessna 195 looks like it is right out of 1936. But the Bonanza coming out right after the end the war must have seemed like it was a plane delivered by aliens from outer space. It was far more modern than any non-fighter created during the war. As a reference of how much of a leap this was for Beechcraft. Keep in mind that their single engine plane before the Bonanza was the Staggerwing.
The C195 on some had the cross wind landing gear and I’ve flown the V-35 and loved it and now the ruddervators on alert for spots of corrosion and this is a problem but unfortunately there are companies that can take care of this and the cost is very expensive
As a licensed aircraft mechanic, I've worked on many general aviation aircraft. Different brands all have their pros and cons. To me, Beech parts were always way overpriced. Having that non-removable lower engine cowling was a pain in the a$$ too. Of course, all retractable gear planes have their maintenance issues.
Could have bought any six place aircraft I wanted and the Cessna 210 Centurion is better. Center of gravity limits Bonanzas, dislike climbing on wing to enter, etc, etc, Could make a whole list of ways Centurion beats Bonanza performance. Bonanzas do have much nicer interior, Cessna could do so much better …
I had a 1978 A36. Best airplane I had. But there is no such thing as a best family small airplane. Instead take your family on a scheduled airline. It is much safer and more likely to not kill your family.
are they out of their fucking minds????????? $800,000 for a single engine piston plane? you can buy a lot of airline tickets just for the selling price. never mind the yearly costs
Beech planes were always more expensive. They have been basically the ‘Mercedes-Benz’ of of aircraft. Also what is making them so expensive and Cessna’s too is that they are owned by the same company, Textron. It very much is a monopoly at work here.
I agree, I'd get an older good one used. We need a modern version of this aircraft under 50k that runs on propane with foldable wings. I guarantee that will sell
Does everybody who just wants to believe, have their heads in the sand. See a dreamy picture and it’s all heaven. Better go to Katherynreport get your head out of your butt and look at how many Continental engine failures have occurred in this plane and the Cirrus just lately, with the same garbage power plant. Recently N67CH, N1HH, N5093C, N654HR, only to name a few. There’s more but those are just dumb pilots flying Bonanza’s that shouldn’t be pilots.
A "dog" by what standards? Compared to an F16...sure. Compared to other aircraft in the same category/class...classifying it as a "dog" is more than a little disingenuous. Does it meet any/all mission profiles....NO. No such airplane exists.
75 years later and the Bonanza is still an amazing design. Beechcraft got it Right the First Time.

What did the insurance company require for the upgrade as far as dual and solo time?
Thanks

Just an all around great aircraft, my favorite next to the 182, another textron product..
I think all Bonanza design engineers should be driving cars with no driver side door.
Gotm
Yeah, it’s ridiculous how it STILL doesn’t have a pilot door.

Thank you.
Impecable video about Bonanza!!! Thanks for being a reliable source of info to make wise decisions when buying a plane!!
OMG THAT BROWN AND WHITE BONANZA IS OURS lol where did you find that video hahaha N404v
Well as my family calls it cream and beige color
If I had the opportunity to getting into a G36 to fly on a Cross country flight with my family members it would be great

No. My 1947 (D-766) doesn't have a weight in the nose.
@@n3307v correct...the ballast in the nose was to help compensate for aft CG issues in later models when the baggage area was extended.
A bigger engine..
At 4:23 you mention the G1000 display, but show a 530/430 combo. At 4:53 you begin showing the G1000
A lot of A-36 buyers are going turbo alley now so I remember seeing the B36TC model that had more gills for engine cooling
Enjoyed the video! Thank you. Please do one for the Mooney M20J!

I’ll stick to my Piper as I can afford it and parts.
I can confirm that post 1984 A36 Bonanza’s are the best! ;-))
I love my A36
This video helped me decide the bonanza is not for me. Thanks for the info
Me too 👍
Why? Interested to know
1 would prefer the Cessna 195, the radial sound, sounds Great. What more better view below due to high wing.
Can you help me find some building plans for a 1949 twin bonanza? The one Jacques Brel was flying(French-Flemish singer-songwriter)
I see a listing online for around 50k, would that be a good deal?

I owned a v-tail. One better be proficient flying one, as it can get away from those not trained and current
Any airplane can "get away from those *not trained and current."*
I’m surprised it doesn’t come standard with landing lights in the wingtips. Or have the option for a composite prop.
The wingtips have optional tanks which might be why. A carbon prop can always be fitted aftermarket
8:55 range 716 or 920 nm?

I want one
Navion video?
Ok so does the straight tail (Debonair ) fly better than the same equipment v tail ?Strictly the 2 smaller planes not the big a-36.
Beechcraft after this video aired: *STONKS*
I would transport any where
Baron 58 has similar parts but with 2 engines
Beautiful airplane. Useful load of 1,076 lbs…for 6 passengers. More like 4 if Americans.
SR22 is the "Doctor killer". Not the Bonanza,
can the banoza G36 come with Pressure cabins ??
Expensive but you get quality

Ok I need 2 y’all yell when you send the first one I’ll need to get a license
I don't know, you would have to Ask Buddy Holly
Another YT lemming repeating something he saw/heard.
That is one highly irritating voice!
The beech is the pitty of single engine pistons. Everything else is just basic transportation.
Fun video, but the narrator sounds like like a joke.
The Beech is a fine airplane, the Cadillac of planes, but if you stall in one it is almost impossible to recover unless you have over 5 k altitude.
Are you serious???
Nonsense.

Yeah but airline tickets don't have v-tails
It's not for everyone...

This design should be decommissioned and grounded by the FAA as having too many accidents.

The only good troll...
but passed all their exams, so they cannot be that dumb
Bonanza is a dog. It’s not really an excellent plane.

@@erichboese7209 compared to any other plane in its class. 6 seat. I have thousands of hours on these planes. Bonanza too heavy.
@@jonhinman2471 fella I speak from vast experience. Some people really like beech that’s ok. I wish all beech people well
