RIP Tim Conway. You will forever be regarded as one of the funniest and best comedians ever. Today's comedians should watch your routines and learn what real comedy is.
Exactly my sediments, sir. One of the BEST, hands down. In EVERYTHING he did. Today's comedy stars are funny, maybe if you're 20, and a Facebook cowboy🤠🙄⁉️
My dad was a Motor Machinist's Mate/20mm Gunner on an LST in the Pacific during the war and McHale's Navy was the only show or movie about WWII he would watch. He especially appreciated the show's portrayal of officers.
It's sad how they couldn't watch any of the movies...the MASH film was apparently a real shocker with the hemoraging combat patients....it apparently sent a few to the bathrooms and street....sadly we are now so de-sensitized to it all.
I have a friend who served in Vietnam who still won’t watch any type of military program since he came home in ‘72. M*A*S*H being at the top of the list. #MuchLoveForTheVets. 💖💯
A Vietnam Veteran that I used to work on and off for over 30 years finally went to the VA and talked to a couple of other veterans and a counselor. He would never say more then a sentence or two about the war before that, and one day while I was at lunch on my shift and he had just finished his shift, came in and talked to me for over an hour about the war. He really opened up and became himself again. He got a partial disability too and a minor settlement that has really helped in his current retirement. God bless him and all the veterans, may you find peace!

+Mick Sydney That's for sure, they were the good old days of T.V., days that we enjoyed a comedy show, not like we have shit comedy rubbish today, all swearing so people can lough, good comedians are gone now. all of McHale crew are all dead only Mr. Tim Conway (Parker) is left and is 82 years old, i wish i can meet him and shake hands with him.
+Mick Sydney Love this show Mick, but did you know the ratings where not as high as they should have been back then? from what I hear. Couple of reasons, one of which, bad timing. Also, competition. some other reasons too. But I loved this show. The US Navy liked it because at the time, it promoted enlistments. Believe it or not, young men where signing on for the navy because they thought this was how the navy behaved, so they thought it would be kinda fun. Now, these where young kids keep in mind and they where just a little naive, & ignorant. You know how kids in their mid teens are. I think I heard all of this from one of the Ernest Borgnine interviews I saw. In my opinion, I don't think this show would have been as good with out Joe Flyn. I don't see anybody standing in his sted. Borgnine said it himself when they asked him to do another McHale's Navy move. He said "perhaps, but where are you gonna get another Joe Flyn?" and he's right, as good as an actor Borgnine is, he can't carry the whole comedy load himself. I mean really, Flyn was damn good at playing that part. The Best. Even to this day I don't see anybody playing the part of Capt. Binghamton. NOBODY. RIP Joe and Ernest. Yes sir Mick, they were the good days.

Tim Conway is so funny. On the Carol Burnett he was great also. He played a Dentist on the C. B. Show and kept sticking the Xylocaine in his on arm leg. It was probably one of the funniest thing I've ever seen.
. *When I was in the Navy, we had a Lt. Commander just like McHale! Play on the beach but pure business when on the line! We had a Capt. Leadbottom too!* .
Look up the works, if you can find them of Admiral Daniel V Gallery, such as Cap'n Fatso. His fiction relies heavily on McHale types and practical jokers. BTW, in WW II, he was commander of a hunter-killer group based on the escort carrier USS Guadalcanal. He actually planned, practiced for, and ultimately carried out the succesful capture of a German sub on the high seas, the first US Navy capture of an enemy warship by boarding since the War of 1812.. I actually met a guy who was on the third or fourth boat to board. Very much like his fiction, there was a twist. The sub had an Enigma coding machine. We had already broken the German naval code, and if they heard we had captured the sub intact, they would change their codes. They had to tow the sub back to the US through the Bahamas, where the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, considered Nazi sympthizers, were liiving. All of the sailors were sworn to secrecy, the Germans had to be held in a separate camp and, under an exception to the Geneva Convention, the Red Cross was not told of their survival After the war, Gallery got the sub sent to a museum in Chicag where it is still on exhibit.
I watched the show in the afternoon with my mom when I was a little one. Hogan’s Hero’s and the Wild Wild West. My mom was a Wave and dad a Sea Bee in W2.

Tuesday nights primetime on ABC: Combat!, Mchale's Navy and F-Troop. I remember that when I was a kid growing up in the 60's. Even during war time there is some comic relief. I remembered visiting Universal Studios back as a child and watching a few of the characters running a radio show from the lot near a tank with the PT109 in miniature in it...
I remember this specific episode and how Ensign Parker (Conway) joined McHales crew. One thing people miss about Conway is to look at him you'd never think he was a great athlete. Did you see the way he fell from the boat at 9:18 and the way he ran at 12:38? In later years his skits included gymnastic feats that were very athletic. RIP Mr. Conway you were a good and funny man.
This show inspired me to join the US Navy. I was on the USS America V4 division 76 to 80. Shout out to Lt. Smith if you`re out there and hats off to Captain Fuller!
This is like a naval comedy version of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, with the title role played by Ernest Borgnine! LOL I remember those happy days of peace and prosperity. The party ended on Nov. 22, 1963.
The guys really looked out for Parker sometimes despite his being naive! They often stuck their necks out for him but they used him to outsmart Binghamton!
Tim has always been my favorite in the show, i liked the way he had to explain himself, i always wanted to give him a cuddle when things went wrong. RIP TIM💗⚓
Im glad that they put this on you tube now that everybody see the comedian genius is Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway and I really love this show as a kid so now you know the new generation can watch this is funny my favorite show thank you
ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME - THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.
Ernest Borgnine as he got older looked identical to my father. We used to watch McHales Navy together all the time in the afternoon we both loved Ernest and the whole cast. Borgnine was a lovely kind human being.
+Stephanie Campbell --he had been fired from the joey bishop show for stealing too many lines......,,joey bishop ,,one of the dullest dead pan no-talent actors ever..wouldnt be surprised if he thru his mob connections killed off joe flynn..thru sinatras contacts;...... once in a while a show comes along..joe flynn was perfect,,showed off his range as an comedy actor....those of us still remember when he passed away in 74...
+Dan NZ -one can learn about tv script writing just by watching the show..mind you these days they have very flimsy scripts..with no talent characterizations..
Hi I heard about this show with Ernest Borgnine but it never made it onto our TV channels here in the UK so this is the first time Iv'e seen it so THANK YOU, Comparable to Bilko. Thanks again.
I just seen his story about the Siamese elephants today, boy was it funny. I love how Vicki Lawrence ask if the a....hole was really done, how Tim and Dick Van Dyke both fall off the ends of the couch and started rolling around on the floor on laughter. A must look up on UA-cam it was great
@@toniwilson1579 A part two is when he and Carol Burnett are on a bench in the park. Shes a crazy street person he's a convalescing business man. She does this bit to him, the look on his face is too rich.
RIP Tim Conway. Hope you're fighting EVILLLLLLLLLLL with Ernie up there! Make Mermaidman and Harvey Korman laugh like they never did in life! Have a peaceful rest Tim...
I spent many days/weeks/months of last year searching for this ONE Fugitive episode (S4E11) missing from my old TV show "bank"! Thank you so very much for providing it and thank you for your time spent uploading as many as you have. We past 40's THANK YOU (and I'm thinking some young folks that never saw great actors is thanking you too)!
What a great premise! An overbearing captain who only goes by the book sends a bumbling ensign to fail in a rag-tag band of outlaws only to have those outlaws welcome him as their own. This only spites the captain but endears the ensign to the group. When it comes down to brass tacks the outlaws get the job done.
It makes me so sad that Tim Conway suffers from dementia and is in a nursinghome, the man is a comedy genius, glad we have these shows to watch, check out the elephant story clip from carol brunette show, without a doubt the funniest comedy clip in the history of television, if you don't. Laugh at this clip ,you must be dead!!!😀
Carl Ballantine was a well known magician when he wasn't acting Gavin MacLeod would soon be a co-star on The Mary Tyler TV show and latter command a cruise ship! Tim Conway of course would soon become known as one of the funniest comedic actors on TV. I remember when this TV show first appeared that some critics were doubtful that Earnest Borgnine, an Oscar winning dramatic actor could do comedy. It turned out he was very good at it and he is now more remembered for this TV show then any of the movies he appeared in !
50's 60's some 70's TV best time of tube entertainment. Rabbit ears and all. Jackie Boy, thanks for the vids. I have not watched or have had a TV for 5 years now. just don't want one or need it.
First time I've watched these since the 60s.....McHale's Navy started my senior year of high school....A year after this episode, I was in Boot camp in San Diego....After radio school, was stationed at a ComSta on the beach in the Philippines, so lived out my own "McHale's Navy" for 19 months.....No PT boat duty, tho…..Ended up on a couple of subs.....arrrrrr Gonna havta spend rainy days watching all the episodes, eventually.....
JOE FLYN DROWNED IN HIS OWN SWNING POOL AND TIM CONWAY DIED IN 2000 AND 19 AND ERNIST BORGNINE DIED FROM CANCER AT THE AGE OF 93 YEARS AGO AND HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR IN MC HALES NAVY 😔
If you watch the whole series you'll see Tim Conway grow from an aspiring comic to comic genius. On another note I had served and my time in service was more McHale's Navy than M*A*S*H*. God bless all vets.
I just watch a Tonight Show with Johnny Carson that Tim was on. He explained he was in the army in the special services ( I guess the part that entertain the troops). He also mentioned one time he accidentally shook up a beer, spray it on his commanding officer. He thought it was a friend trying to scare him. He said he had 2 weeks in the post jail to make sure it never happened again. As he said he went in as a private and came out a private. So the goof ball here kinda what he was in the real service. Going to miss him but so glad he can live in our memories on UA-cam.
Best TV SHOW ever made ! I Always Made Me Laugh , When I watched Mc Hale's Navy ! yes The Good Old Days Of TV , So Much Better Then And fun To watch Then Great Actor , And Bob Hastings who was on As well RIP With the Angels And God TOO ! Julie
+Julie Hastings --he worked very closely along side joe flynn..woudve liked to have asked him(bob) about joe..i wanted to ask bob, what happened to joes wife and the children since he passed away in 1974 under dubious circumstances..and if bob knew anything about joes life...yes it is a great show..if one wants to learn about script writing for television..this is the show to watch.
+Julie Hastings Amen to that, I couldn't agree more. As I have said elsewhere, watching makes me laugh out loud because the shows are so well done and that's rare in this day and age. P.S. A good and wholesome laugh is good for the soul, or so I believe.
I have no idea what branch of the service you were in, But in my careeer, in the Corps, we always managed to do both!! We have always excelled in Combat and numerous covert ops. And we always trained hard, prepared continuously in order to complete our missions. SuperSniperSal USMC Disabled Vet
I found that few 'inspection ready' naval units actually had their acts together enough to be top performers when GQ sounded for real, but the units that could be depended upon when the shells and missiles were flying had been too busy preparing for combat to be flawless in inspection. I had the honor to served in one of the latter, USS Caron (DD 970.)
Anyone else notice the mistake on the sign to Leadbottom's office? "Capt. R.F. Binghamton, U.S.N.R." But his name was later told to be Wallace Burton Binghamton.
Ernest Borgnine is a Honorary Chief Petty Officer who served as a Gunnersmate in WWII, he gave a speach at Great Lakes Ill, and I got to shake his hand after! What a great guy!!
McHale's Navy and Hogan's Heroes were my favourites. Excellent script writing. Extremely clever.

That's how I first knew of him; as the doorman on the 90s sitcom The Single Guy
He beat the living daylights out of Frank Sinatra in From Here to Eternity, just 9 years before.
he was also a free mason and shriner. and Scottish rite

This show inspired me to join the US Navy. I was on the USS America V4 division 76 to 80. Shout out to Lt. Smith if you`re out there and hats off to Captain Fuller!
The man was a fucking badass
brad hunt - Ernest Borgnine was granted an honorary promotion to Chief Gunner's Mate in 2004.
@@robertf3479 Well deserved
Ernest Borgnine was a Gunner's Mate in WWII.
This is like a naval comedy version of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, with the title role played by Ernest Borgnine! LOL I remember those happy days of peace and prosperity. The party ended on Nov. 22, 1963.
Jim, you don't know how correct you are!!! Everything went into the toilet!!! And it is never ever coming back!! Sorry to say!
Winning the war with one laugh at a time.
The guys really looked out for Parker sometimes despite his being naive! They often stuck their necks out for him but they used him to outsmart Binghamton!
Tim has always been my favorite in the show, i liked the way he had to explain himself, i always wanted to give him a cuddle when things went wrong. RIP TIM💗⚓
Loved this show as a kid, love it even more now. What a cast!
Im glad that they put this on you tube now that everybody see the comedian genius is Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway and I really love this show as a kid so now you know the new generation can watch this is funny my favorite show thank you
ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.
I actually loved everyone of these shows and actors. They should have been tv longer.
The good old days of tv .
My grandfather would've LOVED to be stationed on Taratupa!
So would I .
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Ernest Borgnine as he got older looked identical to my father. We used to watch McHales Navy together all the time in the afternoon we both loved Ernest and the whole cast. Borgnine was a lovely kind human being.
Joe Flynn was so underrated, This show was one of the best military shows made.
+Stephanie Campbell
Well regardless of what anyone says I think this show is really very clever and funny, I enjoy watching it :-)
+Dan NZ -one can learn about tv script writing just by watching the show..mind you these days they have very flimsy scripts..with no talent characterizations..
+Simonoves simon
I totally agree with you. I did however get to like that show, "Two Broke Girls" after watching it for a few times.
IMO, 'Leadbottom' Joe made the show.
Gruber is a con to his heart! He is so conniving that he is actually very funny! No matter what they pull they will always look out for Parker!
Awesome comedic military series.
WOW! I been watching this and after I went to Fox News and Tim Conway had dies at 85...…. RIP Tim Conway December 15, 1933 - May 14, 2019
Yep. RIP, Tim.
May 14, was my Pop's date also..😢😢
Last year we lost Fuji the last of the crew. Long live McHales Navy !
Sadly Tim Conway is not in good health today. We are watching over ya little guy, you're the best.
It's no Hogan's Heroes, but there's something so relaxing and classy about these old shows
Daniel Gould
Did they have shows produced in Italy. I believe they did but not sure how to find them.
no lenses for no reflections of cameras and lights
@James Stalcup They're both hilarious, but nothing will top this, no matter HOW much funnier it is :)
Hi I heard about this show with Ernest Borgnine but it never made it onto our TV channels here in the UK so this is the first time Iv'e seen it so THANK YOU, Comparable to Bilko. Thanks again.
It's got a fair number of writers and a few actors from Bilko, actually.
While most people think of Tim Conway as part of the Carol Burnett Show, I will always remember him as Ensign Parker on McHale's Navy. Great comedian.
4:24 "Nasty but firm down there where it counts." I'm surprised that line made it past the censors.
R.I.P. CAPT MCHALE!
R.I.P. Tim Conway.......the siamese elephant is always yours.
@@wcresponder .. will have to look that on up too. Thanks

Cheers.
Thnork!
The Fugitive was hiding out on McHale's island? Wow, he was a slick one alright
+bah humbug lol Whoops...
Thank you. Have fun !
All the years I watched this show with my Dad, I never saw the first episode. Good backstory details.
I loved this.show use to watch in the evening when I got home from school and still watch it on antenna TV keep it coming
(Ernest Borgnine) heck of a great actor and a Vietnam Veteran. I salute you !!
He was not a Vietnam veteran. He was a WW2 veteran. He was much too old to serve in Vietnam.
Great show great writing! Thank you so much!
50's 60's some 70's TV best time of tube entertainment. Rabbit ears and all. Jackie Boy, thanks for the vids. I have not watched or have had a TV for 5 years now. just don't want one or need it.
Thank you. Have a good time!
First time I've watched these since the 60s.....McHale's Navy started my senior year of high school....A year after this episode, I was in Boot camp in San Diego....After radio school, was stationed at a ComSta on the beach in the Philippines, so lived out my own "McHale's Navy" for 19 months.....No PT boat duty, tho…..Ended up on a couple of subs.....arrrrrr
Gonna havta spend rainy days watching all the episodes, eventually.....
JOE FLYN DROWNED IN HIS OWN SWNING POOL AND TIM CONWAY DIED IN 2000 AND 19 AND ERNIST BORGNINE DIED FROM CANCER AT THE AGE OF 93 YEARS AGO AND HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR IN MC HALES NAVY 😔
Tim Conway is a comedic genius!!
If you watch the whole series you'll see Tim Conway grow from an aspiring comic to comic genius. On another note I had served and my time in service was more McHale's Navy than M*A*S*H*. God bless all vets.
I’m glade I found All these old tv shows!
I Love McHale's Navy SOOOOO MUCH! Just wish I had a cat & McHale's Navy Lovin Man to snuggle up & binge watch it with!
I watched the original McHale's broadcasts as a child. My father, a Seabee from the Korean War era, thought it was hilarious.
One of McHale's sailors grew up to captain The Love Boat...
And a copywriter at WJM.
Interesting to note that at 3:57 sign on porch shows the name, "R.F. Binghamton", but Joe Flynn's character name was Wallace "Wally" Burton Binghamton
+Julie Hastings
Amen to that, I couldn't agree more.
As I have said elsewhere, watching makes me laugh out loud because the shows are so well done and that's rare in this day and age.
P.S. A good and wholesome laugh is good for the soul, or so I believe.
I met Bob Hastings at Universal in 1966. Any relation, Julie?
One of the funniest shows ever thanks
Earnest Borgnine was a good chap
McHALE YEAH!!! He's back and on YT for your little seamen!!! (Oops)
Murphy's law, no inspection ready unit made it in combat and no combt ready unit every passed an inspection.
I have no idea what branch of the service you were in, But in my careeer, in the Corps, we always managed to do both!! We have always excelled in Combat and numerous covert ops. And we always trained hard, prepared continuously in order to complete our missions.

Murphy's Law is whatever can go wrong will go wrong.
One of my favorite shows of all time RIP Gavin McLeod Tim Conway Ernest Borgnine and all the rest John Wright and YoshioYoda are still with us
Which actor is John Wright?
Willy the radioman
Great show with a great cast. Bob Hastings was the voice of Archie Andrews on radio.
Anyone else notice the mistake on the sign to Leadbottom's office?
"Capt. R.F. Binghamton, U.S.N.R."
But his name was later told to be Wallace Burton Binghamton.
Yes, saw that at 3:57
R.F. was his dad
One of my all time favorite programs!
Great show
