Binghamton accuses Parker of cowardice after Parker loses his cool during the pursuit of a Japanese patrol boat. But Parker redeems himself, when -- after a little pep talk from McHale -- he orchestrates the destruction of a German U-Boat, which was on a mission to rendezvous with a Japanese patrol.
We'll never see another pair as funny as Conway & Flynn.
Rest in Peace
Watching the remainder of this show I was in tears laughing so hard. This is outstanding writing, outstanding acting and directing.
This was a very funny show! And Joe Flynn as Captain Binghamton was a great foil and setup Conway and Borgnine extremely well! This is one of my favorite episodes.
Tim Conway is 83 and has Alzheimer.
‘S
You
Yes most of these guys have passed now. Rest in Peace you guys. You gave funny to a lot of folks. I do have my picks, but I do miss you all.
Gavin MacLeod is still alive(for some reason he was cut after season 2), and I believe John wright (Radio man Willy Moss) is also still with us, but I think that's about it.
My Dad would laugh so hard when he watched this program, I do so now since I had my turn in the Navy. Tim Conway was the best
This episode is nowadays so VERY POLITICALLY INCORRECT and I enjoy watching it as much as I did in the 60's. Mind you, I was 18 (from Germany) when I immigrated to the US . But comedy is comedy and we need to be able to laugh at ourselves or there is little sense in living.
I love old PIC stuff. And you're right, laughing at our selves... "Only way to fly" !
The physical comedy with flynn and conway is always on the mark.
Gruber says: "Yeah, if it wasn't for mr parker you wouldn't be here now. remember, we had a firm offer from the Japanese". LOL!! Of all the MN episodes, this one is my all time favorite. I bet i've watched it 20 times.
Matt Mattelig I agree totally, but I also liked the very first episode with Parker’s arrival.
@@kenclark9888 Same! And yeah, this is one of my favorites too, for some reason. I haven't figured it out! Dear Diary is my all time favorite. I bet if I tried I could quote it word for word
It's true that German U boats were meeting with Japanese during WW2. This operation didn't last long.
I've discovered the show recently through these YT videos and this is by far my favourite so far. The German singing is the best. Nice to see McHale leading the boys in some fun at the end. Funniest part is when the Japanese officer says achtung and Parker replies with gesundheit hahaha
Best episode ever
"Quit talking to me like I was an ice cream cone!!!!" I love it! Old Captain Leadbottom!
teachers
That got me too
teacherj Joe was a fantastic actor. I could watch these videos over and over.
Sorry, I know I always get a little sentimental when celebrities pass but damn he made me laugh when I was a kid. Thanks for the laughs Tim.
R.I.P. Ensign PARKER.😂😂😂
@Lincoln Wells STFU
Bob Hastings as Carpenter showed me what a yes man is when I was a lad! Great instructor on what not to do! Very underrated on the cast.
Im. 64. And. Seen all these back in 60s till now.....and still watch when I can....BEST SHOW EVER. Alot of truth in the schemes swag. During. War
I too am saddened by the passing of Tim Conway. His style of humor and comedy will be sorely missed.
Milton Smith How right you are. As it is with Foster Brooks and Rodney Dangerfield, he was one of a kind. There will never be another comic would could slay us with comedy like these three gentlemen.
He was one of the best storytellers. Even just do stand-up routines and bits he told stories and they were funny as all heck
He was very versatile. He adapted well to his disguise roles.
Amen
Milton Smith, But the funniest on the show was Joe Flynn as Captain Binghamton.
A great episode of a great series. Tim Conway--what a talent, and what a gift he was, God rest his soul. Funny, nice man.
Tim was one of those actors that made it look so easy. It is actually very difficult to play a fool and be convincing. R.I.P Tim.
Known fact. The Germans and Japanese had an alliance in WW2. German U boats did sail to bases and met with Japanese Navy personel, but this proved too risky and costly to continue, and stopped over time.
Yes but a complete flop on the Carol Burnett show
60 years on and this series still makes good viewing - putting the comedies of today, to shame.
Got to love Parker and Binghamton boy Parker drove that Capt. Crazy.
love this show, it's to bad nobody can seem to make em like this anymore,,? I'll never stop watching and laughing.
The Same Here About Tim Conway🐺 🦊😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂🙂🙃😉😊🥰😍🤩😘😗☺️😚😙🥲😋😛😜🤪😝🤑🤗🤗🤭😏🤠🥳🥸😎🤓🧐😕😟🙁☹️😮😯😲😳🥺😦😺😸😹😻😼😽😿😾🐱🙈🙉🙊💋💌💘💝😾💗💓💞💕💟💘💔💯%!
the japanese officer was about bust out laughing watching tim conway
Watching Mikal‘s navy all the time when I was a kid growing up. Sorry to hear Tim passed away may he rest in peace he gave us a lot of smiles and laughs.🕶
Tim was a riot on the carol Burnett show when he did some skits with Harvey korman
ThankGod for these uploads. Tv was so good then. Now tv sucks. Love watching these old shows
There were restraints on perversion ...
There were many things to believe in that worth self sacrifice ! We lost that county:(
Thanks for the memories Jackie Boy. Looked forward to every episode as a kid. JFK's Naval war experience got us interested in PT boats and their crews.
#ProCivilRights #Eisenhower was three million times the war hero over Anti-Civil Rights #Racist #KKK supporter and rich Elitist playboy JFK ..
I used to watch this show when I was kid with my dad I remember laughing so hard 🤣 I still do brings back happy memories for me
Love this as a Boy Still Love it 50 Years Later.
They don't make shows like this anymore. What a bummer.
I recall watching these episodes with hilarity back as a kid on network TV. Now as an adult, I just marvel at how much physical humor Joe Flynn subjected himself to in the McHale's Navy episodes. It makes me wonder how bruised his body was after a day's filming.
This was a great show back in the day laugh my butt off thank you for posting this
Tim Conway one of the best comedians ever! RIP TIm Conway
This is one of my favorite episodes.
This show is absolutely hilarious, omg. Right down to "U-boat -- with an umlaut."
First time I saw this episode, I was laughing so hard, I was in tears.
Tim Conway was brilliant! 😂
I've seen Joe Flynn in many roles but he will always be remembered as Captain Bingington.
"Ist das nicht der Bottomlead?"
"Ja, das ist der Bottomlead."
Loved when old leadbottom was getting slapped in the face.
@@billfarel7775 surely you mean bottomlead.
Love how Tinker is replying in English the whole time.
Ist das nickt der Capitan
I love these old tv shows great cast and good humor 👍😁
13:00 In have never laughed so hard......lost it again at 20:45.....and 24:00....lol..
This episode’s hilarious! 😂 My favorite in the entire series.
😆😅🤣😂. This and The Beverly Hillbillies are keeping me laughing.
Great show remember watching this when I was 12 years old and now watching again or Minds me of those good old days
This is one of the best episodes ever all around😂
Ok! Alright. That was pretty dang funny!! I'm gonna watch it again! Lol. 😁😂🤣😃😄😅😆
its great the way Borgnine and Conway worked together again as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
still holds up well after 60 years
Muzzle awareness, boys, and git that booger hook off the bang switch.I love PT boats. When this show was on I was with a Sea Scout troop with a 63' Air-Rescue boat (AVR) refitted for scouting with twenty berths. Heckuva boat, and we all imagined it was a PT, bombing around the Delta and out in to the Pacific from SF Bay. My very best memories of high school revolve around that boat.
Captain Binghamton is getting a dose of his own medicine!
I didn't just LOL, I actually laughed out loud!!! A huge belly laugh at the superb comedic writing in this episode.
I watch a couple every day. It is like a prescription!
Not a hbl!
One of the best series ever!
This is one of the best episodes.
Too bad the series wasn't able to hang on for a few more years, would have been nice to have had at least one season in colour, though I still enjoy the B&W episodes.
@cameraman655 . . . I realize this response is coming in wwwaaaayyyy late! But, many classic TV shows in the mid-1960s were phased out due to the switchover of network TV to color. I recall Jerry Mathers of "Leave It To Beaver" fame said in an interview that one of several reasons his TV show was canceled was due to the expense it would have taken to convert the Leave It To Beaver set for color filming.
@@bloqk16 I enjoy black and white TV for some shows and it gave this show more of a WWII feel. Seeing The Munsters even in color photos kind of ruins it if you grew up on the black and white episodes.
@scdevon . . . I think one aspect that has me appreciating the black & white TV shows (reruns) in the 21st Century: My family didn't get color TV until 1970; so all those color shows from those years up to 1970 were only seen by my young eyes in B&W.
So, imagine that, I saw all the Batman ABC-TV first-run episodes in B&W, same for many of the Rowan & Martin Laugh-in episodes; and same for the many variety entertainment TV shows that populated the airwaves up to 1970 . . . I was fine with B&W TV viewing.
After my parents got a color TV, the B&W set was still operating fine, and that went into my bedroom that was shared with my brother . . . so I had a few more years of B&W TV viewing in the color TV era.
There are two full color theatrical movies of McHale's Navy made in 1964 and 1965 and with the original cast -- and both are available on the internet.
@@bloqk16
I realised it was time to 'upgrade' when the evening news on my Princess Portable set showed the new colours adopted by the Water Police Service in 197X.
As a kid in middle school, I could not leave the house during summer break until both episodes of Hogans heros and McHales navy. Then it was off to the woods on a 100cc dirt bike, more kids today should be as lucky.
Don't make cry, bro
This has to be one of the funniest! 😂
When Gruber comes in and says "we gotta gestallen the ipnes" I nearly fell of my chair I was laughing so hard...but if you want a good laugh, try turning on the closed captioning while all that Japanees and German is going on lol.
They won't be here for ein, zwei, drei weeks so shoven zee off
This program deserved to be in color. That show helped ABC gain popularity.
This is my favorite episode. I speak German & it totally cracks how they destroy the language. & Carl Ballantine's portrayal of a German sea captain is priceless!
Do you know the song they are hilariously copying?
Excellent episode! "Ist das nicht ein bottom lead?"
Ist das nicht ein wienerschnitzel?
Historical note, the Germans and Japanese did meet occasionally on some Japanese held islands during WW2. But it didn't last long. This is one of my favorite episodes.
Thanks for the great shows Jackie, keep them coming, loved watching Mchales navy when I was a kid : )
I sure miss these days of good shows and good actors and writers.
Fantastic episode !
Thank you for posting
I really appreciate it ❤️
Great show 👌
No one could have done Binghamton as well as this guy. See the new version of this show in a movie SUCKED to the high heaven!
class a classic when tv had good tv shows
Get out, oUt, oUT, OUT.......priceless.
Loved this show Rest In Peace Crew of P/T 73
I could just scream!!
Aw heck my neighbor says good morning like that he's always blowing up something. When the ATF came to arrest him he blew em sky high too. Not the guy to go messin around with.. He sells me firecrackers on the 4rth of July and I always accept extras...
I truly enjoyed this. I had forgotten have funny mcnell Navy was.
I love this silly show they do a good job making us laugh
This was a great show, lotsa' fun and laughs.
CAPITAIN!! BOTTOM LEAD! GREAT BIG SHNOOK!!! LAUGHING MY BIG BEHIND OFF!!!!!
Is that what they said? I thought it was Great big Shtoop (like calling him stupid in a German accent)
I started watching McHale Navy a few years ago and I am totally hooked
And people said Gilligan's Island was silly.
10.50 "I'm sick and tired of you lucking in on all the glory."
Johann Sebastian Bach?!! Wiener schnitzel?!! Sauerbraten?!! LOLOL
Ol Chuck was struggling to remember anything he ever saw on a German menu I think
@@mikeejay63 Like in Battle of McHale's Island, he was shouting in "Japanese" and he threw in "chow mein"!
AT the 20:50 Mark was soooo funny, I was also cry laughing, Captain bottom lead, Just the captain's express on his face like OMG Gruber,,, now i am in for it. this is the bottom lead (lead bottom) POOR captin....the way Parker enjoyed slapping Captain...the special effect of the slap was in itself funny. I need a good laugh today and this episode and particulary from the 20:50 mark...Thanks for this...
yes, he did have fun doing that!
My sides are splitting. I'm laughing so hard. I always liked Gruber. This crew worked together so well.
Hilarious sript writing. ..
love ,love ,love those slap happy sound effects
Definitely perfect slapstick skit..
Those who gave thumbs down have lost their mind. Funny stuff.
Always enjoyed Tim Conway and Joe Flynn go at it.
lol, the Navy flags at the beginning almost spell Chuck McHale but abbreviated.
C, (H or K), (H or K), U is what I see. without the colors it's tough.
It’s like walking home from 4th grade again. This one is my second most favorite episode!
Sea 'n Sky: Well, this begs the question: what was your first most favorite episode? I was never able to pick a particular one.
@@Loincourt Me? Dear Diary
ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.
I watched this episode a couple of times had to hold onto my weenierschnitzle a few times to keep it from floopin around while I keep on laughing...
A young Mako as the Japanese officer.
He was in an earlier episode as well. Season 1, the plantation episode.
Love it when Parker speaks to German
Love the show McHale's Navy
This is top 10 funniest episode to me.
Such a beautiful boat in the opening.
Ive seen that same submarine blow up on this show about 8 times....
Nips! I love it. Hope it comes back in style to use the word Nip again.
ah MAKO it is good to see you!
I Loved Them All.
Very funny episode. Great series.
for comedy shows McHale's Navy and Hogans Heroes sure killed a lot of sailors and solders off camera
Was the Japanese officer supposed to be laughing, or were Tim Conway and Joe Flynn cracking him up?
FLYNN AND CONWAY WERE CRACKING HIM UP.
I think he was cracking up, but that almost never happened on here!
It is true for a while German U boats did some missions to meet with Japanese Navy sailors on secret missons. It didn't last long however.
@@johnbockelie3899 U Boats were also present in the Indian Ocean. They operated out of Penang, Malaysia, doing the usual anti shipping missions, only in smaller numbers.
"His people are up to their little sun tanned navel'a in shreded cocanuts"
HA! Funny. Good old Leadbottom!!
Great scripting in this one!!!
at 14.00 probably my biggest laugh''Lieutenant Schweinhund!!!!
Ah that's where captain mainwaring from Dad's Army got the idea for his hat and glasses joke.
Bravo!
14:30😅😂😂😂
Great show 😊
You've got to have fine performers and writers to make baggypants comedy to work for any length of time. Eg. Gilligan's Island or McHale's Navy.
Right on Jackie boi, thanks and long wave McHale's navy flag , and the pt73, probly my first I remember fav, tv show still in BLK n why cool .
Loved Tim Conway. He was great
Tim Conway what a nut he n that crazy captain the funniest one was where Mr Parker got amnesia
Has there really been captains like this !?
