I don't think it was created by the Mandalorians, if I'm not mistaken it was a relic from the jedis and the mandalorians stole it from a raided Jedi temple.

I'd estimate Tarre Vizsla became a Jedi and built the Darksaber a few years after Revan's fight against them, but it was definitely built ages before Shae Vizla sacked the temple during Darth Malgus's raid. I bet she stole it considering the Vizsla lineage that the sword has held onto.
I am currently watching all Star Wars from start to finish. I have seen the films before but not the TV shows. I am now on Series 6 of The Clone Wars. Should I watch Series 7 before moving on to Episode 3 of the films, or does it take place in another time period? I ask because obviously the 2020 Clone Wars series was made years after the first ones were completed and series 7 seems to be lining Ahsoka up for appearing in the Mandalorian Season 2.

Though you have to distinguish between the attack on Mando's (Din Djarin's) home planet and the attack on the Mandalorians. Mando's planet was attacked by Battle Droids of the *CIS,* so presumably still during the Clone Wars. The Mandalorians as a whole were attacked and largely wiped out by the *Empire,* so a few years up to a over a decade *after* the Clone Wars. This imperial attack (or more like genocide) was the "Great Purge" the Mandalorians and Moff Gideon talked about. So Moff Gideon is responsible (or was in charge at least) of the Mandalorian's almost-extinction, but he was not involved in the attack on Mando's village and the deaths of his parents.
That Darksaber that Moff Gideon wields is basically the Excalibur of Mandalore. Whomsoever wields the sword should be seen as ruler of Mandalore, so there's definitely some serious setup for Gideon vs Din in Season 2.

The smith is what I would call a Strong female character, which has a story, background (the little we knew) and a bad-ass character. Clearly this proves that Jon Favrou and Dave Filoni are much better in creating strong female characters that are likeable than what Kathleen Kennedy can do in five lifetimes!

Two points of trivia for you: First off, the Armorer's talk about Mandalore the Great's conflicts against the Jedi is a reference to the Knights of the Old Republic video game (ie the best Star Wars game ever made), and how Revan and Malak defied the Jedi Council to fight back against the Mandalorians' attempted conquest of the galaxy. Second, a lot of the stormtrooper extras in the show are actually members of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan/cosplay group.
I don't think it's a direct Kotor reference. Most of what happened there is not and will not be canon, there is just some overlap with the canon stuff, I guess.

But then again they also basically implied recently they have no idea what to do with the backstory so maybe they'll undo that lol. More to the original point though the actual Mandalorian war and such took place before the actual KOTOR game (it was backstory created for that game).

Though, unless there's some material I'm unaware of (highly likely), that conflicts details are only from reference, as the Clone Wars once were before the prequels. Overall, I like the way Disney has adopted some of the old lore and canon into the new canon, even if I will be forever bitter they didn't hew closer to the old B-Wing/Shantipole lore. I flew those missions so many times, dammit! #selfcenteredbitterness

I had to wait to watch these videos. I finally got hold of The Mandalorian, watched the entire season today, watched your episode 1 video when I was on episode 3. Watched the episode 2 video at about episode 4, then watched the rest of yours after I finished the season. Kept me far enough ahead that you couldn’t spoil the show for me, but I could see so many of your “oh, I hope” and “what if’s” and appreciate them with one who has seen them. Being something of a Star Wars fan since its original theatrical release and seeing everything shown, I saw things like the flip the torso around coming half a mile away. I do call BS on their choosing to have the Moff give until nightfall and such, but overall a very good season. But you actually prompted me to see this series. I try not to watch a series unless it’s had a couple seasons and a renewal for a third at minimum. Shows I take a liking to early on tend to find the cutting axe right after I discover I like them. So I tend to be behind on shows.
The Darksaber is a lightsaber that belonged to the first and only Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Visla, after his death the Darksaber was kept in the Jedi temple of Coruscant until Some Mandalorians stole it in the time of the old Republic, from that moment the Darksaber became a symbol of power in Mandalore, in the series of Clone Wars and rebels the history of this saber is deepened

I watched the movie The Binge last night on Hulu and was pleasantly surprised to see Natalie pop on screen. Very cool! I saw on IMDB that she has done other stuff so that's great to see she is getting some screen time!
Those were “Death Troopers,” as seen in Rogue One. The saber is called the “Darksaber” and is a type of lightsaber created by a mandalorian Jedi. Moff is a title. In the original Star Wars, Episode IV, Tarkin was a Grand-Moff.
I only started watching the series because the last episode was directed by Taika (I think, he is a living classic), but the series as a whole turned out to be realy good for the most part. So glad of your reaction!

Yeah, that R2 unit did NOT skip leg or arm days. Also: being made of plastoid steel, stormtrooper armor is intentionally shit. It's cheap but good enough to take the hit and keep the wearer alive but out of the fight. The Empire operates on a shock and awe principle and will just dump 10x the number of troops needed into a fight so they overwhelm the enemy.

Quick fake history lesson: the darker saber is a lightsaber formed by Mandalore the Great, whom was the first mando Jedi. Whoever welds it is considered a leader to them. (Back when there were actual mandalorians, not just foundlings or wtvr) To get it someone had to challenge the welder and whoever survived took it. People that have had it are a bunch of Vislas, Darth Maul, Sabine Wren and Bo Katan. God I know way to much about nothing

It made perfect sense that Din's parents didn't hide with him. Enemy droids were closing in on them, so they sacrificed themselves as decoys in an attempt to draw them away from Din's hiding place and improve his chances of survival. A droid did find him anyway (so if they had hidden with him, all three of them would have been found and killed together), but the crucial seconds the droid spent killing Din's parents bought just enough time for that Mandalorian to arrive and save Din's life, so his parents didn't die for nothing.
First of all, I just want to say that you are insanely cute, and a joy to watch. I love how your reactions are full of volume and emotion, and not just idiotic questions with zero emotional investment, like some of the reaction videos I've seen. Your sense of humor also shows through in your reactions, and that makes you one of my favorite reaction channels on YT. Secondly, I know you're in the middle of many runs of movies (MCU, other Star Wars stuff, etc.), but one I think you'd love is Changing Lanes with Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson. It's a story about 2 people wrapped up in their own problems who collide one day, and retaliate against each other in a variety of ways. It poses the question, "What if 2 human beings decided NOT to act civil, but instead, do what they could to tear down each others' lives?" Not for your reaction channel, but just one to watch. It's a powerful movie, one that didn't necessarily get the praise it deserved.
That's a Dark Saber, Natalie. I honestly recommend watching Clone Wars & Rebels whenever possible for more on that but also because those shows are really fun, have awesome characters and a lot of heart.

Great video!...Lookup the Dark Saber for some background on Moff Gideon's weapon...it has a history of it's own. This is the first time it was shown in live action.
When she said that it wouldn't obey his commands, she didn't mean he couldn't use it, she meant he couldn't use it effectively until he was fully trained and warning him that he should master it before using it in combat. If you pay close attention, all he really does is a couple short, straight forward bursts, which is likely all that his limited training as a boy covered. But if you want to see how a fully trained Mandalorian uses their jetpack, watch The Clone Wars. It's a thing of beauty, it truly becomes a part of them, just as much as their arms or legs. They don't even have to think about it. They'll use it to dodge attacks, add more "umph" to their punches and kicks or just launch their attacks from a hovering position. If a single, untrained Mandalorian can take down a TIE fighter by himself, just imagine what he'll be capable of once he's mastered that skill.
"Moff" is an imperial rank. Giancarlo Esposito's character's name is Gideon. Kinda like a general of sorts. Just how in the movies, there was the character Grand Moff Tarkin played by the late Peter Cushing. I love your channel :) (Edit: Looks like someone mentioned this already. Oh well)

And my guess is that he knows about the Force, and wants whatever it is that lets the baby use the Force so strongly, thus the doctor in the third episode talking about extracting material from it.

The smith is what I would call a Strong female character, which has a story, background (the little we knew) and a bad-ass character. Clearly this proves that Jon Favrou and Dave Filoni are much better in creating strong female characters that are likeable than what Kathleen Kennedy can do in five lifetimes!

Two points of trivia for you:
First off, the Armorer's talk about Mandalore the Great's conflicts against the Jedi is a reference to the Knights of the Old Republic video game (ie the best Star Wars game ever made), and how Revan and Malak defied the Jedi Council to fight back against the Mandalorians' attempted conquest of the galaxy.
Second, a lot of the stormtrooper extras in the show are actually members of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan/cosplay group.
I don't think it's a direct Kotor reference. Most of what happened there is not and will not be canon, there is just some overlap with the canon stuff, I guess.

But then again they also basically implied recently they have no idea what to do with the backstory so maybe they'll undo that lol. More to the original point though the actual Mandalorian war and such took place before the actual KOTOR game (it was backstory created for that game).

@@denisa_the_jedi Yes, the Jedi vs Mandalorian conflict is part of the new canon, as well. Though, unless there's some material I'm unaware of (highly likely), that conflicts details are only from reference, as the Clone Wars once were before the prequels.
Overall, I like the way Disney has adopted some of the old lore and canon into the new canon, even if I will be forever bitter they didn't hew closer to the old B-Wing/Shantipole lore.
I flew those missions so many times, dammit!

I had to wait to watch these videos. I finally got hold of The Mandalorian, watched the entire season today, watched your episode 1 video when I was on episode 3. Watched the episode 2 video at about episode 4, then watched the rest of yours after I finished the season.
Kept me far enough ahead that you couldn’t spoil the show for me, but I could see so many of your “oh, I hope” and “what if’s” and appreciate them with one who has seen them. Being something of a Star Wars fan since its original theatrical release and seeing everything shown, I saw things like the flip the torso around coming half a mile away. I do call BS on their choosing to have the Moff give until nightfall and such, but overall a very good season.
But you actually prompted me to see this series. I try not to watch a series unless it’s had a couple seasons and a renewal for a third at minimum. Shows I take a liking to early on tend to find the cutting axe right after I discover I like them. So I tend to be behind on shows.
The Darksaber is a lightsaber that belonged to the first and only Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Visla, after his death the Darksaber was kept in the Jedi temple of Coruscant until Some Mandalorians stole it in the time of the old Republic, from that moment the Darksaber became a symbol of power in Mandalore, in the series of Clone Wars and rebels the history of this saber is deepened
So the legend says. A legend that misread could have been.

Those were “Death Troopers,” as seen in Rogue One. The saber is called the “Darksaber” and is a type of lightsaber created by a mandalorian Jedi. Moff is a title. In the original Star Wars, Episode IV, Tarkin was a Grand-Moff.
I only started watching the series because the last episode was directed by Taika (I think, he is a living classic), but the series as a whole turned out to be realy good for the most part. So glad of your reaction!

Yeah, that R2 unit did NOT skip leg or arm days. Also: being made of plastoid steel, stormtrooper armor is intentionally shit. It's cheap but good enough to take the hit and keep the wearer alive but out of the fight. The Empire operates on a shock and awe principle and will just dump 10x the number of troops needed into a fight so they overwhelm the enemy.
I love watching you watching everything I've already seen. It's like getting to watch them for the first time again.

Quick fake history lesson: the darker saber is a lightsaber formed by Mandalore the Great, whom was the first mando Jedi. Whoever welds it is considered a leader to them. (Back when there were actual mandalorians, not just foundlings or wtvr) To get it someone had to challenge the welder and whoever survived took it. People that have had it are a bunch of Vislas, Darth Maul, Sabine Wren and Bo Katan. God I know way to much about nothing

It made perfect sense that Din's parents didn't hide with him. Enemy droids were closing in on them, so they sacrificed themselves as decoys in an attempt to draw them away from Din's hiding place and improve his chances of survival. A droid did find him anyway (so if they had hidden with him, all three of them would have been found and killed together), but the crucial seconds the droid spent killing Din's parents bought just enough time for that Mandalorian to arrive and save Din's life, so his parents didn't die for nothing.

First of all, I just want to say that you are insanely cute, and a joy to watch. I love how your reactions are full of volume and emotion, and not just idiotic questions with zero emotional investment, like some of the reaction videos I've seen. Your sense of humor also shows through in your reactions, and that makes you one of my favorite reaction channels on YT.
Secondly, I know you're in the middle of many runs of movies (MCU, other Star Wars stuff, etc.), but one I think you'd love is Changing Lanes with Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson. It's a story about 2 people wrapped up in their own problems who collide one day, and retaliate against each other in a variety of ways. It poses the question, "What if 2 human beings decided NOT to act civil, but instead, do what they could to tear down each others' lives?" Not for your reaction channel, but just one to watch. It's a powerful movie, one that didn't necessarily get the praise it deserved.

I honestly recommend watching Clone Wars & Rebels whenever possible for more on that but also because those shows are really fun, have awesome characters and a lot of heart.

When she said that it wouldn't obey his commands, she didn't mean he couldn't use it, she meant he couldn't use it effectively until he was fully trained and warning him that he should master it before using it in combat. If you pay close attention, all he really does is a couple short, straight forward bursts, which is likely all that his limited training as a boy covered. But if you want to see how a fully trained Mandalorian uses their jetpack, watch The Clone Wars. It's a thing of beauty, it truly becomes a part of them, just as much as their arms or legs. They don't even have to think about it. They'll use it to dodge attacks, add more "umph" to their punches and kicks or just launch their attacks from a hovering position. If a single, untrained Mandalorian can take down a TIE fighter by himself, just imagine what he'll be capable of once he's mastered that skill.
While watching the Hulu movie the binge I realized that was you in it! Go you! 😂
"Moff" is an imperial rank. Giancarlo Esposito's character's name is Gideon. Kinda like a general of sorts. Just how in the movies, there was the character Grand Moff Tarkin played by the late Peter Cushing. I love your channel :) (Edit: Looks like someone mentioned this already. Oh well)

And my guess is that he knows about the Force, and wants whatever it is that lets the baby use the Force so strongly, thus the doctor in the third episode talking about extracting material from it.
