@@henrybelman7424 Elephants in disguise
@@yotuel9064 I totally sang that to the 80s Transformers theme.
Also Bantha meat is the star wars equivalent to beef. It's eaten by sentients from all over the galaxy.
Totally with you there.
It's a pearl, not an egg. Like most creatures that ingest large quantities of silicon-based compounds, they often mix those with certain proteins to avoid being damaged by the microscopic shards of glass, basically.

A Krayt Dragon pearl is one of the most valuable "gems" in the Star Wars universe.

This was straight out of KOTOR loved that
@@CaptainAmercia As soon as the sand moved I looked at my roommate and said, "bro what if its a Krayt Dragon." and he said "Next you'll be wanting HK droids canonized"
@@riolkin Meanwhile Thrawn somehow got his hands on HK87 droids lol i believe they were HK87 something like that. Dave looks the Kotor era you can see a Mandalorian helmet from Kotor 1 and 2 in the clone wars.
@@CaptainAmercia True! He even originally put Revan in the Altar of Mortis episodes as the driving personality pushing The Son to do the things he does in that arc. they ended up canning that bit of info, but I feel like Dave is just waiting to finally canonize him
Fun bit of trivia about this episode: in one scene the Tuskens are watching the krayt dragon's cave-mouth, and one of them has a pair of binoculars. They're the same pair that Mando's young bounty hunting "partner" in season 1 traded to them in return for safe passage through their lands.
I completely missed that somehow. Have to watch it again I guess. 😁
I love attention to prop-details like that! :D

@@epimetheaus1214 I mean, in context, it was pretty clear who you were talking about by name.
"How do they know that?"
They live here. They lived here for thousands of years.
And it's easy to miss, but that Krayt Dragon ate the Sarlacc that lived in that pit. It ATE a Sarlacc.
The implication is it was *the* sarlaac.
@@KEVMAN7987 nope, the sarlacc in Return of the Jedi was in a horizontal pit in the middle of the desert, not in a vertical pit in the side of a cliff. There is more than one sarlacc.
Mando set off Cobb’s armor just like Han set it off against Boba in Return of the Jedi.
yeah, and it has the patch as a repair. love the attention to detail

Hey, by all means, drop your favorite Obi quotes in here, it's all good! xD I just meant that we actually got to see the Sand people riding single file for an extended period, I know it's kinda shown in ANH when they ride out, but not in the epic scale we got here.

Fun fact: that R5 unit you see early on in the episode is the same one the Jawas tried to sell Luke in A New Hope.
Nice catch
Hope she at least replaced the motivator.
@@gawainethefirst it didn't look very motivated.
The moment I heard R5, I was glad it made it all this time.
Least, it didn't blow up or malfunctioned! That is how R2-D2 become with Luke
Blue milk comes from Bantha’s. The large hairy and horned creatures the Sand People ride. Spotchka is an alcoholic drink made from prawns (season 1, episode 4 blue shrimp the farmers were harvesting).
Shrimp prawns yeah that's weird how they make them into a pretty blue vodka
The round object the Tusken raiders were holding high was a krayt dragon pearl. Krayt dragons like oysters can produce pearls because of the sand they continually have going through their stomach. And the pearls can become quite large. The cores of krayt pearls have even been used in lightsabers.
Also the Astro droid towards the beginning of the episode or R5 is most likely the same droid that the Jawa tried to give Luke in A New Hope
It IS R5-D4, has been confirmed and his blown motivator cover can be seen on his dome as well.
Specifically, Krayt Dragon Pearls grow around a core of kyber (hence why they can be used as saber crystals).
@@Ryan-jc3ip that makes sense but how does the kyber get there? i thought it only formed in ice caves in ilum
Technically Kyber Crystals can form anywhere that the conditions are right it's just that Ilum has conditions just right to grow them.
Weren’t the Jawas and transport destroyed in the original movie?
“Sandpeople always ride single file to hide their numbers.” - Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Not really much point against a dragon. That was more about raiding and not giving away too much info to the target. This was just a hunting trip.
@@davidkelly4210 You don't break good habits.
It is so beautiful what John and Dave are doing with this show, R5 is the droid that blew up so that R2 could go with Luke instead. Heads up huge easter eggs in this season if you miss them it's not that big of a deal but it is one of the reasons to love John and Dave.
that thing the tuskens dug out of the Krayt Dragon's carcass is a pearl, not an egg.
used to make the strongest lightsabers.
Got to cut Natalie a break, she's a new fan and that would be an easy miss on the armor and Bobafett at the end(this is why she needs our help....THIS IS THE WAY). I knew she wasn't gonna spot R5-D4 in the start of the episode. I'm just glad she started season 2.
Geez, nobody who's trying to avoid spoilers look at the recommendations panel. Other reactors/reviewers putting the big finale reveal right in the frakkin' thumbnails.
Yeah, youtube is so bad for that sort of thing now that I've downloaded a browser plugin that hides videos with certain keywords in their titles. Not foolproof, but far better than nothing.
well the thing is that if you are watching the show as it is coming out, then you have to watch the latest episode before looking for a reaction. But if the complete season or series has already finished airing and you haven't finished watching it and yet you are looking at reactions, then it's you who is responsible for not getting spoiled, the reactors (the good ones) did their job by not putting images or uploading their reactions days after the episode they reacted to aired, from that point on it's not their fault.
Or in the title of the vid!
its so bad, that I had a Doom Patrol episode ruined it for me, by the thumbnail of some video talking about the final. I was a watching a videogame video, but since I was interested in DP earlier, youtube must have thought it was doing me a favor. Cobb’s speeder bike looks a lot like Anakin’s podracer engine.
I'm 100% sure it's either his or one of the same model.

Timothy Oliphant, who is the Marshal, played Marshal Raylan Givens in Justified as series about modern US Marshals. His most iconic role.
I actually think Deadwood was more iconic.
This isn’t really a spoiler, that armor that the Marshall was wearing belonged to Boba Fett, from the Original Trilogy.....
Last time we ever saw him he fell into that Sarlacc Pit in Ep 6.....

Thank you for the content. As a lifelong Star Wars fan it's super fun watching someone watching them for the first time.
Fun fact: Timothy Olyphant is probably most well known for playing Sheriff Seth Bullock on HBO’s Deadwood. However, there is another Deadwood actor in this episode, the Weequay bartender was played by W. Earl Brown who played Al Swearengen’s right-hand man, Dan.
That man born to play the Spirit of the West!
@@bencebotye3904 it was nice to see him act in something where an F-Bomb wasn’t dropped every 2.3 seconds!
Oh, I didn't realize that was Dan, nice call out!
Also, he played a US Marshal in the criminally underwatched JUSTIFIED. The typecasting really worked, here.
I'm so glad we're finally getting your reactions to this season!!!
YES! Hyped to see your Mando S2 reactions, be careful with spoilers!
1. It burrows underground, mountain of dirt = ground
2. When a long serpent of any kind swallows something it doesn't go straight to the belly, it can take a while to go down the esophagus.
3. Bile/stomach acid would come from the stomach, and isn't going to come up unless the creature vomits it.
I just thought the dragon had an ability to spray acid like some snakes can spit venom. It probably uses that acid to break down tough material in its food like scales or horns, or to aid its burrowing by breaking down rock and dirt into a more manageable mineral slurry.
I think the nearest settlement to the Lars family moisture farm (where Luke grew up) was called Anchorhead, though Toschii Station may have been closer, and a common gathering place. Mos Eisley was where Han & Chewbacca got hired, and Mos Espa was where Watto had his shop, with Anakin & his mom.
I’m sure I mentioned it before but just in case.
The helmet rule wasn’t universal with mandalorians before this show. This show introduced it. Clone wars and rebels has loads of mandalorians who remove their helmets with no issue or mention of any rule whatsoever.
We were all curious how and why this rule came to be.
Ah, Nat! Seeing you is such a treat. Happy new year, to you and all your loved ones, and anyone reading this, too!

I love that you got the gremlins reference!
I loved this episode. Reminded me so much of Star Wars Galaxies and hunting down a Krayt Dragon which took at least 20 players. Also great how they added the pearl at the end which was very valuable in SWG.
When I watched this episode my only take was ''Damn, Timothy Olyphant is a handsome dude''

Aww I wanted to see your reaction to the ending with Temuera Morrison and how that links to the armor (whose armor it was). Since you mentioned the Sarlaac I was waiting for your "oh wait, whose armor is that?" lol :)
The "egg" was a super valuable pearl that the dragon makes similar to how clams make pearls.

Yeeeessss!! I was waiting for this :D

I'm so excited to watch you watch through this season of the mandalorian! I really hope no one spoils anything for you. This season has really given me a New Hope for Star wars 😊
Mando: The beast's hide is too thick to be pierced from the outside. I must cut through it from the inside.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Drax moment.
I was more thinking "Hey, Jarvis, y'ever hear the tale of Jonah?" Y'know, flying guy in metal armour who fires lasers and missiles, then spends a lot of time keeping his surrogate son safe?
Oh man I wish we could have seen your reaction to the screen at the end. It was min blowing for me when I first saw the episode lol
This was produced by Jon Favreau, so we'll see MCU levels of script discipline. Favreau has all sorts of callbacks; he just doesn't beat you over the head with it.
The best kind of callbacks are the ones that reward the fans who understand them, without sacrificing the story to audience members that do not understand them. Mando does those so well.
Natalie. I am retired and with Covid spend a lot of time in the house. As a result, I watch a LOT of reaction videos. Your videos are by far the most professional. I very much look forward to them. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into them.
If you look closely the red R5 droid is the same one from A New Hope.
Uncle Owen, this R5 unit has a bad motivator!
Fun reaction as usual, the range of your voice and the sounds it makes are amazing!
Anyone else binging her videos after just finding her? She is an awesome reaction video creator, and it is a crowded field!
Yes. Though there is considerably more to binge now than 2 years ago.
The Universe revolves around Tatooine. I would love the to see the waiting list of known actors wanting to be part of the SW universe. The throwback Eater Eggs in this episode are many. Yes, the Boba reveal brought out my 9 year old self; hard.
Cobb Vanth’s armour is Boba Fett’s!

@@mikewizz1895 Boba fett was barely in the ot, so I doubt she would remember him. Unless she does when she sees jango fett.

Timothy Olyphant kicking ass, so good. Natalie, if there’s a show you wanna checkout after firefly, super recommend “Justified”, The Marshal in this, Is the Marshal in that and it’s good.
Hellz yes but his character might be too much anti- PC for Natalie.... Remember her reaction to Lethal weapon??
But deadwood she may like, mandalorian is a western in star wars after all....

STORY TIME PLZ
All the folks who were in the sandbox in Iraq laugh hollowly. "That's not a sandstorm; THIS is a sandstorm!!"
BTW, all those folks "standing around?" Straight copy of the classic western shot of the hero riding into town while the locals gawp.
Mando has now become a legend to the Tusken people. The outsider who got eaten by a dragon... and escaped from the maw of death. A worthy story to tell during every story time.
YEEEEEESSSSSSSSS I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD REACT TO MANDO S2
Glad you finished Firefly first. Sticking around for the Mandalorian and other nerd stuff haha.
You missed quite a few clues in this one, Nat!
That armor once belonged to a very specific bounty hunter, for example.
And there was a cameo at the end of this episode as well.
And these yaks are called Banthas ;)
Yeah, a "yak" isn't a very accurate description for these creatures, Banthas are more like mammoths. You can even see the trunk from the real elephant underneath the costume in the original movie.
Your reactions are refreshing. Thanks.
@9:12 - "Oh no, it's going to eat the yak! It's going to eat the yak!" It's called a Bantha.
Not directed at you, BPrice1A, but at that quote of Nat's...
"Amazing, every word of what you just said was wrong."
Bantha is basically a yak. No need to be toxic, nitpicky, or a killjoy. Star Wars is supposed to be fun.
@@Twigpi Seemingly, the only person who took it any of those ways (toxic, nitpicky or a killjoy), was you, as it appeared to have been taken by everyone else, in the light-hearted tone, in which it was meant.
I am so glad to see you’ve started your reaction to the new season. You’re in foe a world of surprises that I hope you pick up on. I’m also very happy not a lot of people that have watched your reaction have attacked you over subtle details.
The lack of natalie's MCU reactions for 3 weeks straight hurts me physically
Yeah Star Wars! So happy, can't wait to see your reaction for the last episode.
Time to add Deadwood to the list of things Nat needs to watch, I guess.
One of my favorites, R5-D4!!! Also Bob's Fett's armor! 👻

omg yes! 🙌🔥🍻 love you, Nat 💐✨ you’re lucky to get it all in one shot lol. and for you to avoid spoilers is remarkable 👏🏻
Watch "Interstellar" if you haven't yet. Despite of the title it's a completely different thing to Star Wars.
Thanks for this one, Natalie. I've been waiting patiently. This is gonna be a ride.
the Sand people found a pearl inside the Krait dragon, it's a callback to some Star Wars game where apparently getting a Krait pearl is a quest :)
Not just "some Star Wars game." Arguably the best Star Wars game, Knights of the Old Republic.
The entire mission in this episode is nearly identical to that quest from KOTOR.
Spotchka isn’t blue milk. It’s brewed from blue krill. Blue milk comes from banthas, the yaks.
That krayt dragon isn’t the only one. There are smaller ones, still big but not as big the one in this episode. Killing krayts is a rite of passage for sand people.
Krayt dragons use their roars to vibrate the sand to make it like liquid so they can swim through it. Krayts that size have eight legs.
Not even questioning who the guy at the end was? It was Temuera Morrison, who’s been in star wars before. Specifically the prequels, also the OT but only his voice
You didn't show us your reaction to the boba Fett reveal 😢
Because it wasn't confirmed at that point. It could have been another clone.
She's not that big a Star Wars fan to make that connection I think.
@@firstenforemost nah it was obviously Boba Fett considering it's Tatooine, considering his armour is there and considering he has all the scarring from being in the sarlacc. Everyone who's seen and the prequels should have known who it was - just like everyone who's seen the originals should have recognized the armour. But then again she has only seen them all once and like a year ago so I'll give her a pass on that 😂
Welcome back, Sweetheart. ❤️
I'm looking forward to you seeing the rest of the season. This season turned out SOOOO much better than the first season! Especially the season finale (I won't spoil).
You're in for a hell of a ride through this season.
You haven't finished Firefly yet because there's still the Serenity movie.
That's gonna be a good one.
She knows that; she's mentioned it before. But she's referring to the series, which she is done with. Hopefully she drops Serenity soon though, I think many of us can't wait to see her reaction.
I have the feeling that she filmed it, but hasn't finished editing.
Fun Fact: The Marshal in this episode played a marshal in the tv series Justified. That is a show you might enjoy with the mixture of seriousness and humor. He was also in an HBO show called Deadwood and the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet.
Hopefully, you won't be underwhelmed by this season, cause a lot of the excitement is dependent upon a lot of knowledge from the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Hope you have fun regardless 😊
Finally!!! :D
Also I bet a ton of other people have already said this, but the egg from the Krayt Dragon is actually a pearl :3
Not all dragon’s breath fire, some breath acid.
Yeah I think a lot of the original dragon myths(western dragon myths I mean) the dragons breathed poison rather than fire. Pretty sure the dragon St. George slew was like that. Also Komodo dragons with their bites full of bacteria.
Tim's character, Cobb Vanth first appeared in the Novel Star Wars Aftermath. Fun easter egg, Did you notice the Sand people traveled single file to hide their numbers?
This season is better than the first season.... especially starting at episode five and onward.
Umm just watch the whole thing it feels more complete and the best part is that it gets better

Post credit - FYI, get in the habit to check for that this season.
There was no post-credit scene in this episode. I think there's only one in the entire series.
The fans got excited about the clever references, but it's interesting to watch the casual fans only enjoying the story as presented. Happy to see that it still engages without all the lore and history nods interfering.
Some really important person didn't get a reaction at the end🤔
I have a feeling she might have forgotten who boba Fett was entirely, because she's only watched the movies once and in quick succession.
