I’m excited for you, I love Europe and UK. I love how you can wander the streets in Rome and never seem lost, how people still dress classy in France, how I’m not out of place with wearing oxfords in the UK, the pure taste of food in Germany, art and exquisite architecture being everywhere , how easy it is to travel in various ways even to remote farm villages and so much history ( I could list forever ) I do notice a difference having lived in Bavaria verse being in Ramstien. If you haven’t travelled to Bratislava yet I highly recommend it. And if you’ve never been to the Schloss Guteneck Christmas market ( Medieval one in a smaller town in Germany) it still remains one of my top favorites. I love that I can relate to so many things you say (like PCS moves ) and I learn so much from you, you’re always so put together. I got a huge compliment the other day when my sister and I went to a wine tasting and we both dressed vintage, one lady there told my sister how fashionable I was, no one has ever called me that before and as I told you before watching you gave me the confidence to step out on my own vintage journey. I think I need to become a patreon. Congratulations to you and your husband.

Congratulations!! So happy for you! I would love to be able to move Vienna. I have recently found out that my family is Austrian so that explains why I have always wanted to live there.
Congratulations. We are Australian and lived in the UK many years ago for quite a time, and Europe was very different to here. As we lived there for some time, we got to travel a lot too. However my family are Australian Germans anyway, and I felt totally at home in Germany because their way of life and values I fitted with well, but its often at adds with American and Aussie way of life. Germans and Austrians are not snobby per se, or unfriendly, they just keep to themselves more, dont always embrace westerners living in their space as much, and not as ostentatious as Aussies and Americans. So long as you show a genuine interest in being a part of them and their cultural norms, they will like you enough. And yes, its very exciting getting the fob of your dreams and I wish you all the success you are anticipating.

I'm so happy for you! One thing I've noticed in watching travel videos/moving to a new country videos for the past 15 years is that it seems like the less friendly places are the safest. And many of the super friendly places have higher crime. Not that there aren't exceptions. But when I've researched the safest places, it seems the people are just less open and friendly, initially. It's harder to get to know people but once you get to know them they are lovely.
This is exciting! I first noticed you from my vintage groups when you lived in Germany!

Pleeease don't be afraid of Viennese people! I think it's just a cliché like Sacher Torte or Wiener Walzer that is cultivated as "cultural heritage" which then leads to unpolite people thinking they are just living their Viennese life. 😉 The vast majority is open and super nice!
We also have big swing dancing and vintage communities as well as vintage burlesque shows - you're gonna love it! 🤗
I’m really looking forward to getting acquainted with the vintage community there.
I'm from Germany (not far away from the Dutch border) and I think the reason why people mainly speak English as soon as they encounter a native English speaker is - they can finally practice 😉 at least that's me!

I envy you very much, I dream of living in Europe, but I haven't managed to move yet, it seems impossible to me, and Germany is one of the best countries in the world.

It seems that you are shooting this video in Washington DC, but you are answering questions, and you posted a post about questions after moving to Vienna, how is this possible? In your post about Vienna you are already there, how is it possible? 😅
Thank you for your kind words, and I'm sorry if I've confused you. I'm still currently in Washington D.C., we move to Vienna in November, but we took a trip there to look at some apartments and get a feel for the areas that want to live in.
The movers come in late October to pack up our stuff and then we'll be living in hotels for a few months until we find a place to live. I'll keep you all updated along the way.
