I had a look and its fantastic. I would be better looking on my laptop rather than here on the phone. I am not sure if it mails to the UK but I will find out because its a really, really great idea! You look fantastic in all of them. I dont know why this idea hasnt caught on with other clothing stores. Its such a wonderful idea!

I found eshakti through one of your previous videos and I love them. There are so many dresses that look vintage right out of the box. I have not tried to order with my measurements yet as that makes me nervous. But next time I do customize, I'm going to try the added puff sleeve. I can't thank you enough for putting the site out there. For me, being on the larger side of plus size, it's hard to find nice stuff out there. And they make it easy to get great things in the right size. And I know this video will help other people through the process.
The third one with the blue checked print is my absolute favorite how beautiful

Hello Christine...I just wanted to say...thank you so much...you explained everything so well...I have been buying from eshakti for about a year now because of you...but I wasn't really getting dresses that looked 30s or 40s inspired it was hit and miss for me and it was more 50s looking...so when I seen this video and how you filtered through it made me more aware of what I was looking for...I ordered 5 dresses right after watching your video and have never been happier with my selection...thank you thank you thank you. Vielen lieben Dank für den Tipp, ich kannte die Seite gar nicht. Hier in Deutschland gibts ja nicht viel Auswahl an Vintage-Shops. Und vor allem da man dort soviel anpassen kann, dann bekomm ich vielleicht sogar mal ein Maxikleid, das mir bei Schlumpfgröße passt :-D

Very helpful video! Your dresses are gorgeous and look so pretty on you. Do you add the request for Puffed Sleeves at checkout or before? 💕
There is a small drop down box on the checkout screen (on the right side) that says "If you have special instructions for us, be sure to mention them". I just add it there. But sometimes in my excitement I forget and then I just respond to the confirmation email with my request and that works too.

I have recently discovered your channel. Thank you so much for your time and knowledge on eshakti and vintage ideas. I have so many questions..lol Could you tell me what your measurements are and would you suggest total customization? My measurements are 54-51-53 and I am 5'6 and about 245lbs. I love all the dresses you chose,but afraid to order the wrong size. I am typically a 3x on top and maybe a 2x on bottom. I am also a 44dd bra size. Your videos are so inspiring and make me want to change my whole wardrobe. Thank you for these informative videos.I will be a faithful follower from now on :)

Loved this video. I've checked out eshaki before but it's overwhelming so this is very helpful. You mentioned that they're US-based. Do they charge in dollars or in local currency? How did you find ordering from them when in Germany (import fees, timings, etc). I'm in the UK and my usual credit card charges a lot for foreign transactions.
Yes, they are US based, and ship to many countries. According to their website all orders are processed in US dollars. It was a bit of a hassle to have to pay the additional VAT on my orders in Germany (we don't pay VAT in the US), but the arrival time was fairly quick and I don't recall excessive import fees.

At checkout there is a section that you can make special requests. You just need to ask for it there and tell them which item(s) you want puffed sleeves on. It’s that simple.

I do have a question: the mustard dress you can see in one of your pictures you show at the beginning: what style of dress is that? I think I remember you posted it on your blog as a sort of recreation or inspiration based on a film character.
Also, I can’t wait to learn how you do the fabric customisation!! 😃 im excited to learn more about that. I can kind of work the other tools but that one I haven’t figured out already.

The mustard dress is a peplum style dress. And yes you are correct, I did write a blog post about that dress. It was a recreation of a dress from the TV show “The Plot Against America”.
Looking forward to your video on fabric customization! It looks like they actively started promoting that option more recently. How did you know that they could accommodate the puff sleeves in the special request section? Have you used that section to add any other details?
Yes, I've noticed that they are starting to promote it again, so I'll make sure I do a video on that soon.
I actually called customer service about something else and I asked them if they were going to bring back the puff sleeve option soon. You see for a while they had it as a regular option you could just choose for most of their items, but then it was just gone one day.
So the lady explained that I could just ask for it in the special instructions section and they would almost always be able to accommodate it. I've asked for zippers to be removed. I don't always like the side zip and most of the time I just slip the dress over my head anyway. If you think of any type of customization that you want, I highly recommend that you ask them, they will contact you if they need more clarification, but I'm sure they can accommodate most customizations.
I attempted to order from them after watching her shirt dress video. They can be VERY delayed on their shipping with little to no feedback from customer service. Honestly been a nightmare and after reading reviews it’s a common issue. Just my word of warning- I still have yet to receive my order 2 weeks past delivery date and have been unable to get the issue resolved or even know if it’s been started yet.
