- The Redfish and Speckled Trout were thick off the beach in the Outer Banks. Surf fishing in the Outer Banks is very popular and so is pier fishing, and in this video I wanted to show the variety of the amazing fishing the Outer Banks has to offer.
Pier fishing can be one of the most effective ways to target fish off of the beach in the surf zone because if the waves are too big or conditions are not ideal for standing on the beach - getting out on a pier can be the answer. And on this day the pier was totally the call.

I got a bit of a chuckle with "Spot 10" having flashbacks to all those dead spots I've hit. Gotta hand it to you though, you are a trooper!!! Pretty sure I'd have packed it in partway through the morning. Nice fish off the pier!

Counting the days to our yearly trip to the OBX! 42 to be exact. Can't come soon enough! Love fishing Avalon Pier. Have always had pretty good luck there. We are bringing some family with us that have never been there before and haven't ever fished saltwater. I booked a fishing charter with Cutawhiskie Charters out of Manteo for a 6 hour near shore and off shore trip, should be a great time! Keep on putting out the great vids Jeff & Kristi ! P.S. would still like to go fishing with you guys one of these times we are on vaction!

You misheard and misinterpreted his comment. He said, “slumped to a new low” because they weren’t catching anything good and had been all over the place. They weren’t dogging on fishing the pier.

i just found your channel, its been great to binge watch,,i am driving up that way from arizona may 22 to visit my son who is stationed there. i do not have much if any useful saltwater gear/tackle and am going to buy a few things...any suggestions on first things i should buy.. and what i should have for rods/reels ie length action capacity etc since i only fish lakes here in az,,also,,is a charter experience worth the expense since ive never been on one and i dont have all the gear.. i dont have a lot of money for a high dollar charter but might be able to do a 4 hr deal maybe..thank you for any info you can give me

Grass was horrible at sandbridge Saturday beach fishing.
Nothing worst than being the guy not catching fish next to the guy catching all the fish.
You think Feb is a horrible time to fish? Waters in wilmington are around 55 but they were a bit colder before.

What’s the point in cleaning fish in the parking lot dirtying your truck having to find a way to despose of scraps when you could just do it on one of the tables on the pier your paying to use
