I agree with some of the best material is already out there. I absolutely love the L&L World's Greatest Magic Series which will have several versions of a trick, a primer on a gimmick, or several tricks to perform at a particular milieu e.g. close-up. Yeah, the videos are old, but with some creativity you can make it modern if needed.
Wow! I cant believe I bought the DVDs 14 years ago?! I just rewatched them a few months ago. So good. Didn't Vanishing inc. put out a remake with Richard a few years ago?
Thanks for the review David. Love your breakdown of products and honest opinions. As a mentalist, 13 steps is something that is a must read. You are correct, it has accessibility issues for new readers. I am glad you said what I think many new mentalists are thinking! Great job!
I got my copy a couple weeks ago. Went through the 12 hours of tutorials in two days. Loaded with great stuff and the props are great too. Includes things that are very hard to find. Worth the price, no question.
Great review, David! I am jazzed by your enthusiasm for this set. I've started the book numerous times but have not finished it. This set sounds like the perfect complement, and all of the props are included to perform the pieces. That's a bargain! Thank you for the informative, terrific review! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Great review as usual, but I already share my comments over in the member's section, on David's unboxing video of this set. Anyone here not a member? What are you waiting for? I highly recommend joining up!
Agree that the L&L videos are superb without question. However, I don't agree that the props provided are above criticism & having had my set for a few weeks Jeff Stones' review is far more accurate. Some of the props are of poor quality particularly the billet knife. Jeff Stone describes it as rubbish , I agree. I have a replacement on way so will have to wait & see if it performs any better. I think this was an excellent idea to use a superb L&L product after Murphy's acquired the rights that was rushed and poorly thought out. Why supply an 8x8 chess board that is oblong in shape and stickers that are difficult to remove. Jeff Stone has apologised for supplying a quote endorsing this without seeing the props supplied. I agree 100%
Hi David, yes you did but you also said there was no downside to this kit I can tell you there are& so does Jeff Stone who you suggested people check out, I just hope they do !!! It is no compensation that awful billet knives are readily available from Murphy's. @@magicorthodoxy
What you say about L and L is so true. The WGM series is amazing. I have the original DVDs, but what you say about getting the resources is also so on the money.
Hi David, totally excellent review 🎉!!! I've had the original book for years and also the original L&L DVD's. What a great set! Thank you for this fantastic review! Your friend, David
Richard Osterlind is still a great teacher in recordings or in person. He also has a number of props and effects that are very nice and are a very high quality.
I have the original Osterlind DVD’s and they’re great. But the Downloads of the videos PLUS a really cool Billet knife? I honestly want it just for that! 😂
Does the box include everything you need to perform all the tricks in the books or only the ones in the videos? Maybe a stupid question but I take it that there's not enough room to include all the tricks from the actual book in the videos?
The book is one of the few that I have genuinely read from cover to cover. You don't need anymore than it has to offer for mentalism.
so true

I’m doing the same thing with that Psychology of Magic book by Vanishing Inc.
@@magicorthodoxy Cheers 🎉
The endorsements seem to be more about the book, and prior to actually seeing the kit and props.
Thanks for reviewing David 👍👍
the endorsements on the add copy page?
@@magicorthodoxy yes .. from PTurner, Dee C, Jeff Stone and others on 🐧 site
This hurts sooooo bad. I own the DVDs. But I wanna buy the kit😭😭😭

Is this better than HOW TO READ MIMDS? I'm debating between the 2 right now
I think HOW TO READ MINDS is more practical
