I would never go to a coin shop to sell bullion. I use two different bullion dealers where I buy my bullion. I don’t sell bullion, because it’s not an investment, it’s a hedge. But if I ever did, I’d use a good bullion dealer.

Buying coins and slabbed items are a fool's game. Paying a premium over real market value is plain stupid. Unless you are in love with the "HOBBY" metals are not an investment. You will never get your premium back. The premium is the scam - adding synthetic layers of "value" to the purchase. Investments generate income - metals do not.

That's an opinion, But I do own a lot of Scottsdale gold and silver because you'll never get a counterfeit

My problem is every time I think i reach my goal i up it to a new level. I dont consentrate on one type of silver, 10 oz. bars are my biggest size but more in eagles some maple leafs, Britannica's, Buffalo's and even 1 oz bars. 5 ozs more and my goal is reached this time around and then pick up some more gold. Kind of addicted to it, but not sad to say it.

I bought 6 x 1/10 oz recently only because there was a special price on them which equalled within $10 the spot plus premium on a 1 oz , otherwise I wouldn’t touch them beacusr of the regular premium

I took all my slick mercs amd stacked 50 next to 50 64 rosies. Was 12 dimes short. So traded my slick mercs for rosies at my lcs. I told them why but they had ppl that only bought mervs

If the fecal matter hits the fan I can assure you that silver or gold in any form will be worth what it is.

Problem is....coin shops do not give you any premium for those fancier coins, they almost always will only pay the same that they pay for generic rounds! It is like stabbed coins...you pretty much will not get back what you paid for them at most coin shops!

Of course painted coins will be more expensive. You have to take time and effort (and paint) to make them, there is a cost to that. As for an LCS paying less for them, that is a ripoff. It's still a silver eagle, and contains the same amount of silver. If you really don't like it, a bath in a solvent like acetone or paint thinner will remove the paint completelly. When it comes to collectables, it's all a matter of price. If the premium is too high, just skip them. If you can get for only a small premium over an other type of coin, it can be interesting if you like collecting, of if you want to take a small gamble on them getting higher priced later on. Some coins likes the Marvels series and plenty of others sell for 2 or 3 times the price of silver. Obviously, if you want to do that, you need to sell privately, not to an LCS that will give you spot for everything!

Well maybe you should try a different coin shop, that doesn't mean the silver is unsellable, all silver is sellable. Maybe you Bought the wrong silver for your LCS. Hey, my 1 oz Gold Eagle is unsellable because my LCS doesn't have the money to cover it, that's about as arbitrary as what you're saying

that definitely makes senses. I figured early on those plated and painted coins were a gimmick. Why plate it? We're talking about buying real precious metals here, just put it in! Those are beautiful pieces State! I'm a PM Slut... I love AG, AU, PL, PD, some CU for my collection, and when I learned to pour, I made bars of AL, ZN, PD, NI, SS, FE, TI, SN, some other ones. I have bullion/numismatics, US/world, a 1.5 oz "fools gold" nugget as a paper weight on my desk, a 3 oz meteorite (that's how elements came to the planet), gems, crystals, stones, also all kinds of US/world new/old paper currency and US/World stamps. Alright blood! Update! Scored 14.5 oz of roseys dimes and quarters for free. Bought 8 tubes of 40 % Kennedy's for 35 a tube. SOLD those Kennedy's. Paid for the 90% and a little cash extra.

I have been a pawn shop owner for the past 4 years since my father passed away and left me his shop. Bullion buying and selling works the same way at pawn shops as it does coin shops, we all pay similar prices. Just like coin shops and pawn shops only pay a percentage for scrap jewelry.

Minimum amount of silver you should own..... it took you guys 11 minutes to tell us that. These videos are starting to get redundant. The questions are rarely answered in a timely manner. If i ever decided to buy silver again. Would definitely be bars or rounds. Government coins are not worth a premium to me. Its all the same, 1 oz of Silver. ASE feels like throwing away money.
