  • I Bought An Old Coin Collection - Trade Dollars, Capped Busts & MORE!
    In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins and other coins from the 2 bags I purchased from my Silver/Coin Dealer. I paid $1500 in total but he knows the things I like and said that a customer came in and just sold all of their coin collection to him. Since I usually purchase all the old silver and he knows I like copper too, he let me get it all!
    I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. I also will be assessing the value of the 2 bags to see if I did good in buying this coin collection.
    Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I know it's a bit long, but we had a lot to go through!
    As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!!

      Agreed. He should see the eagle looks different, and he had the zoom in where it clearly said TWENTY. Also, it is slightly smaller, but it is too close in size to the quarter, leading to the short life of this series.

    That coin at 17:30 is a twenty-cent piece, not a Seated Liberty quarter. It's a little smaller than a quarter and has a smooth rather than a reeded edge. The eagle on the reverse also looks like that on a Trade dollar. That's good news because the twenty-cent coin is worth considerably more than the common 1875-S quarter.

    • @Cardmaster12
      @Cardmaster12 5 місяців тому

      It’s funny cuz the 1875S 20 cent piece actually had a substantially higher mintage than the 1875S quarter, it’s just more desired and as such worth a lot more.

The best part of this vid was that large cent with the “alterations” - if you will - because I never heard the back story behind those, super interesting!! I wish you could have went into more detail, although I def understand that you were trying to keep it rated G as well haha….But when you were explaining the situation on that large cent about the “E” changed to a “U” - your chuckle as you were tip-toeing around it - was absolutely priceless!!! I love old US coins, and especially the oddball stuff. I recently got an 1875 20 cent piece, a couple 2 cent and three cent pieces, and a few half cents. My type set book is filling up nicely so far! I'll have to do a video when I've got a minute.

    I love these types of videos where you buy these awesome collections! People have already commented this so I won’t bother telling you that quarter was a twenty cent piece! Lol! Sweet find!

    Hey Rob that 1875S is a 20 cent piece... Probably about 90-100 dollars in value there. 1.1 million of those minted if I’m correct
