What a wonderful tour of some of Chicago's architectural, artistic and gastronomic delights. You were so fortunate to have Unity Temple all to yourselves. It appears that Unity Temple has had a marvellous restoration. Also, great to see some of J. D. Atchison's early work.

Thanks again. Gail, as you can tell, was in her element. She really enjoyed our private time in Unity Temple!

Perfect video ! Trains and architecture ! Thank you for the information on all the buildings and several architects I knew little about! My father was a student of Bruce Goff at the University of Oklahoma. I am ready for another Chicago trip !!!

Glad you enjoyed it! I can’t claim any direct connection to Bruce Goff but I did visit his Bavinger House near Norman Oklahoma. One of my favourite architects.

The Unity Temple building gives me a feeling that I'm inside a non-functioning electric heater.

Haha. At least it is a very famous electric heater!

I lived in Chicago for 20 years. My friends would come up to visit. Theyd say, "lets go to Navy Pier or Sears Tower ".. I'd poo poo them, and say "tourist stuff". Id show them where John Dillenger was gunned down (even showing them the bullet holes. You cant do that now as the house by the alley has new siding) or I'd show them where 600 people lost their lives in their lives in the Chicago River. I'd show them the nuts and bolts of Chicago's!!

Good work! I’m sure your guests enjoyed experiencing things off the tourist radar.
