Thanks for the cool tips Michael. I certainly like the first version better because of the smoother finish. On the other hand, the full mould method may, ultimately, work better, but you would need to smooth and polish the old windscreen. Maybe with multiple coats of paint, while sanding in between would create a better surface. Cheers
Thanks Timo. As mentioned in the video I got the best result with the one piece screen unit using liquid silicone rubber and silicone putty. This video was only a quick demonstration on how we could use UV Resin from a bottle cheers Michael
You can make silicone putty pretty cheap. Just go to your local Bunnings aisle mitre 10 and buy a tube of silicone (just a cheap stuff make sure it's 100% silicone) couldn't in a bowl and mix in cornstarch. You just keep adding cornstarch to it's, doesn't stick to your fingers anymore. You can colour it with food colouring. Thinking it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to go into like a rubber. I have a question about the car why you didn't do the back window for? Was it too hard for you to do kissing the curve? Cheers Graham
The cost of repro screens out there is crazy. I live live in the UK and able to source spares from Steve Flowers model supplies in Leicester UK. Cost is usually in the ranfe of £2:50 GBP. Dont know what postage cost would be to OZ
Hi Ian postage cost from Steve Flowers has always been around the £20 mark. I've bought from him a few times, and I appreciate what he's done for this hobby, but a lot of the dies, he uses for white metal parts are rather worn, and the amount of flashing that needs to be removed tells me that the items aren't checked all that well.

@@gravesendaustralia know what you mean about flashing. Have had to do a fair bit of fettling to make bi's fit properly
