his passing was so tragic, my favorite moment of Robin was his portrayal of Genie. he passed weeks before i went to rehab for alcoholism, and now i am coming up on 5 years sober.
Robin's role as the iconic Genie will forever be one of his greatest roles in movie history, and one of the most iconic Disney characters ever. Also, congratulations on being sober for 5 years. That is definitely a great goal, and no one should have to resort to drinking.
I didn’t know he had died, let alone of suicide, until I watched Dead Poets Society a few months ago (it is now my favorite movie) and was looking at his IMDB profile and it said his cause of death “suicide by hanging.” Made me immensely sad that I didn’t know it until 6 years later. Rest In Peace.

Let's also not forget: that Robin Williams was also a gamer---one of us---and much of his love for video games lives in his beautiful daughter Zelda Williams!
The clip where he says "thank you for the standing ovation". I watched that LIVE while I was recovering from Achilles Tendon surgery (my third thank you), I went and bought the DVD. I really needed cheering up with that one.

And there's nothing more dramatically ironic than a man who lived to make others smile, but not himself. It really brings to mind the classic song, "Smile": "Smile, though your heart is aching. Smile, even though it's breaking. You'll find your life is still worthwhile If you just...smile."
An inspiration. I was absolutely devastated when i found out about his suicide few years ago. He has definitely left a mark in history as one of the most talented men in show biz. Gone...but never ever forgotten.

I was just thinking about that movie the other day lol where dreams that may come was incredible! I know I keep saying this but bicentennial man was one of his movies that I was fond of.
I would have liked to thank Robin Williams for facing and fighting all the struggles he went through alone. But because he was so agile at protecting his personal life by telling no one, not even his wife and children, i was left with a only bafflement about his death. So instead, i'll be thanking you, Rebecca, for telling me everything that i didn't know. You changed my point of view, about Robin Williams, from 'very negative' to 'completely positive'. And you've done a respectful job of summarizing a tragic end while honoring everything good, and human, about someone who will forever be remembered.
When I was little I stayed up late at a weekend at my fathers. He had HBO, and at home we did not even have cable. I would watch Robins Stand Up special, and it was like I had a secret with him. At home I watched him as Mork in reruns. As an adult I loved seeing him on "Whose Line Is It Anyway" He gave us so much. So many memories, and sadly he could not keep his own.
Just finished watching Bicentennial Man. Cried the whole way through. Nobody could emote like the great Robin Williams. He was such a natural entertainer and he will be missed for generations to come. Thank you for helping us all feel, Mr. Williams... You won't be forgotten.❤
I remember my friend Joe had never gotten to see Robin’s stand up back when we were in High School together. Joe had difficulty learning and he was just such a kind person that he never heard dirty jokes like Robin Williams told. I told him some of them and then one day he came to my house unannounced and we watched Robin’s 2002 HBO Special and just laughed until we could barely breathe. Unfortunately, Joe has also since passed away. He was struck by a truck while riding his bike. I miss him immensely and now I always link him and Robin Williams together. But more importantly I remember us just laughing until we couldn’t take it. So thank you Robin Williams for all of the entertainment and for making me closer to a great friend. 😌
I Remember Watching Robin Williams on Laugh-In & Happy Days (When I was 7 years old) to Everything he did. Just like most people in my age group, I grew-up with Robin Williams. He was everywhere and loved. Even though he'd never know you, he would always be a "Family" member to you. Always there to make you Smile or Laugh, when you needed it the most. Robin will always be in our Hearts. RIP you Great great great person You.
"I just never realized John Wayne walked like that.." The Birdcage is one of the funniest performances! But really he had so many; from the Birdcage to Aladdin, to the "Intro from Hell" and the pink shawl bit from "Inside the Actors Studio", he brought us so many great moments. There will never be another great like Robin. Billy Crystal said it best, "Robin Williams...what a concept"
The Birdcage. It was the first Robin Williams film I saw with my dad. Being a straight son raised by gay people it's a movie that truly resonated with me, and Mr Williams performance was spectacular. I truly hope a sequel is made in this day and age with much of the previous cast to honor a person who may have had a tragic life but was in no way a tragic man.

"You ain't never had a friend like me"...
Please stop, you’re gonna make me cry 🥺
I have schizoaffective disorder and have attempted suicide years ago.
I made it past it and am much better now and am stable.
I can relate to Robins story so much and I feel for his family and for him.
He was such a wonderful talent and a great person in my opinion.
Thank you for posting this may Robin always be remembered now and years to come!!
I have Schizo affective disorder as well and I am being gangstalked and called a terrorist and a bitch. I am 44
@@Choices2aa weird the same thing is kinda happening to me.
Everyone seems to be reacting very weird with me and I am always being fallowed by and watched by white trucks and vans.
Plus everyone is judging me and putting words in my mouth.
But I have times when I misread things so I don’t let it bother me as much anymore, I use to get really frantic when things like this happened but I have come to understand it’s just my disorder and I will go through it every once and a while.
I have had my disorder for many years so I learned when I was distorting things and am able to not become overwhelmed and unstable mentally and emotionally like I use to.
I hope you are feeling better and I am sorry your facing such issues.
Just know you will be okay and that everything will get better.
Try to just let things be, I know it can be hard when people are mistreating you but just know your not alone and that things will hopefully get better.
Try to stay positive and stay safe and always remember “mind over matter no matter the mind”!!
As someone that has battled depression and anxiety for two decades I can relate to his pain. I will miss him and the laughter he brought to the world. RIP
Hello dear, how are you
Jumanji will always be my top Robin Williams film followed by Aladdin
I really love his film Mrs. Doubtfire
What about hook?
il Teschio Nah Bruh
I love his character in Dead Poets Society. It’s sad cause one of the characters in that movie kills them selfs.
For those who enjoyed all of his comedic/dramatic performances from Mork and Mindy to his serious roles of Good Will Hunting. And enjoyed everything in between, count yourself fortunate. Because he is one of the greatest human beings 🥺
My father had ALS and committed suicide 27 years ago. When Robin took his life I was inconsolable. It's hard for any of us to cope with that depth of sadness in someone that makes us laugh. Funny actually that I won those silly awards in school and up until now meet new people and get compliments on my humor but can say behind "closed doors" even the best days I think about not being here anymore. I suffer so nobody that loves me will at my loss to them in their own way especially my 3 year old granddaughter. My purpose. Be careful what you say to others not knowing how much they may suffer and dont judge others pain. It's not your judgement that holds his pain.
Sorry ,hope you are recovering 😔don't loose hope
you said it ..the firing suffering, the agony they will swallow by your loss I assure -as you of course know- will forever be engraved in their minds and souls, please
I'm sorry for the loss of your father. May he rest in peace.
I'm also sorry you are suffering. I hope things are getting better for you, though. Sending prayers, big hugs, and love to you 💕 Please stay strong
You have the heart of a warrior to tell us this may your father Rest In Peace and May you find your inner peace as well I hope you are doing well and hope you are doing better now
Thank you for writing this, Nicole.
his passing was so tragic, my favorite moment of Robin was his portrayal of Genie. he passed weeks before i went to rehab for alcoholism, and now i am coming up on 5 years sober.
It’s so sad, my favorite movie was Mrs. Doubtfire!
Congrats, I wish u a happy life. Really happy for you
Congratulations! Wishing you lots of blessings, good health, and happiness 💕
Robin's role as the iconic Genie will forever be one of his greatest roles in movie history, and one of the most iconic Disney characters ever. Also, congratulations on being sober for 5 years. That is definitely a great goal, and no one should have to resort to drinking.
@@JohnJApanovitch He will not be forgotten, and thanks
I didn’t know he had died, let alone of suicide, until I watched Dead Poets Society a few months ago (it is now my favorite movie) and was looking at his IMDB profile and it said his cause of death “suicide by hanging.” Made me immensely sad that I didn’t know it until 6 years later. Rest In Peace.
I just realised this. Am looking into much more n more
I watched dead poets society just yesterday. N am like damn this man killed emself. Omg
Robin Williams is now and always will be one of the greatest actors who ever lived, but his legacy and his film and tv characters will never die.
Poor Robin, it just goes to show that the happiest seeming people are really the ones who are the most troubled and depressed 😭 Farewell, O Captain, my Captain, and your legacy will forever live on! 💖😇
That's my fave RW movie...I still get goosebumps when the boys stand on their desks and it was the painfully shy Todd Anderson who did it first. RIP Mr. Williams, you will always be missed and never forgotten.
Dead poets is the best movie i love Robin Williams may he live on in legacy
There will never be another Robin Williams , he was a genius
"To Live would be an awfully big adventure" - Robin Williams as Peter-Pan
Then he bailed
While it's a nice quote, the line is an actual line from the book Peter Pan written by JM Barrie. It can't be considered as a quote by the amazing Robin Williams.
adlegacy56 no the quote that was in peter pan written by j.m barrie was “to die would be an awfully big adventure” and i think only Robin Williams spoke the quote op posted in the Peter Pan movie that was re-written so i think it can be considered as a quote by him
How could the ''happiest man in America'' suffer from depression that could not be fixed....and why would that even occur in THAT persons' life IN THE FIRST PLACE ??!!
I still cry like a baby with EVERY emotional scene he's acted in, but seriously Good Will Hunting and Patch Adams obliterated my frail heart!
What dreams may come is one of mine.
One Hour Photo gets me.
I'll never get over the emotional impact of "O Captain ! My Captain !" One of the most iconic scenes in film till date.

You are still in our hearts, Robin. You'll always be loved and remembered.
Wrong he was a symbol of spoiled privilege that offered a few laughs but then died from his own stupidity. Best thing about him was his voice but his ugly mug makes me want to vomit and I am glad people stayed distant with Robin he was one of the worst friends u could ever have
Imma treat this as my birthday gift. Robin Williams bursted with joy! Rip
Many celebrities becomes more loved after their death than when they lived. With Robin that was impossible. I will always owe him gratitude for some of the best smiles in my life.
Robin Williams will always be an amazing actor, and he'll always be remembered for the massive impact he left on his fans. Let's hope he's in a better place where he can be happy.
Mrs doubtfire was my favorite. I love him so much..

I can't watch this without tearing up I just miss Robin Williams so much I wish he was still there making us laugh again the world and Hollywood is a darker place without him
This video really reminded me of what an amazing man he was, and it really did bring me to tears. The amazing ones are always taken away too early. Rest in peace, you absolute legend.
@Deva Adithya Bobby; Though in this case the tragedy is, that he wasn´t TAKEN away too early, he chose to LEAVE too early....but definitely TOO EARLY!!

Reading these comments and seeing how much Robin meant to us all honestly brings a tear to my eye. "Why use a permanent solution to a temporary problem." My dad told me this quote from Robin Williams years ago. My dad also struggle with achohal.
Lewy body dementia isn't a temporary problem though.
@@stevenclark5173 Yeah people do not understand what dementia does to a brain. As sad as it is he likely saved himself 5 years of literal hell. People should all look into dementia and what it actually is and does.
Let's also not forget: that Robin Williams was also a gamer---one of us---and much of his love for video games lives in his beautiful daughter Zelda Williams!
Robin Williams is my hero ... I still cry whenever I think of him. ❤️
Loved this mans artistry and talents. I’m so sad he’s gone. Thank you for the share Rebecca!
The clip where he says "thank you for the standing ovation". I watched that LIVE while I was recovering from Achilles Tendon surgery (my third thank you), I went and bought the DVD. I really needed cheering up with that one.
I was so devastated when I heard of his death, I can't imagine how his friends and family must feel.
I always somehow felt connected to him when I watched his movies and stand-ups; it really hit me hard when he died.
He'll never be forgotten 🖤
God is his Father, that is why
Sad that Robin Williams committed suicide and I guess his comedy routine was just an act. He is an actor after all and seeing One Hour Photo was a glimpse into Robin Williams soul and this man had the world laughing and he made everyone smile and laugh then he killed himself. Sad. I feel sorry for his kids. Everyone knew Robin Williams was funny and made people laugh and he just wasn't happy.
@@paulfrank4551 Not father, creator! Big difference!

2. Goodwill Hunting made me cry, because it was/is so relevant, to my life

Thank you Robin Williams! You are one of the coolest and most influential people. Awesome video, I learned a lot about this great man!

Gaster l think roger from American dad! said that...ironically it was hilarious lol
And there's nothing more dramatically ironic than a man who lived to make others smile, but not himself. It really brings to mind the classic song, "Smile":

He’s funny, lovable, nice, talented, inspirational. The only time I cried from the loss of a celebrity.
Just finished watching Bicentennial Man. Cried the whole way through. Nobody could emote like the great Robin Williams. He was such a natural entertainer and he will be missed for generations to come. Thank you for helping us all feel, Mr. Williams... You won't be forgotten.❤
Rest in peace Mr. Williams. Your influence, legacy, and laughs will be remembered forever.
I was deeply hurt at the passing of this man. What a loss.
Almost six years now and I still can’t believe he’s gone. 😢
6 years?! God has it been that long 💔

He didn't "feel the need," look up what Lewy Body dementia is. It's horrible.
I Remember Watching Robin Williams on Laugh-In & Happy Days (When I was 7 years old) to Everything he did. Just like most people in my age group, I grew-up with Robin Williams.
