This is so much fun to watch! I noticed that you have a really hard time parting with items. My strategy for that is that when I'm not sure if I'm ready to part with an item, I put it away in a box for a few months. Then when it's time to clean out my wardrobe again, I start with that box. Without looking at it, I try to remember what's inside it. Pieces I forgot about will definitely leave my closet, no doubt about it. Most pieces I remembered but never once felt the desire to wear during the time they were in that box will probably have to go as well. Only pieces I really missed can stay. This way, before throwing something out for good, I can get used to those items not being in my closet and see how that feels. This way I've been able to part with items I LOVED but for some reason never wore, which is such a relief because now I don't feel guilty about not wearing them anymore!

Idea for the "accident waiting to happen" dress: find some matching beige fabric/stretchy lace and bring it to a tailor (or try your hand at sewing!) and have them add some sleeves--you'll relieve a lot of problems and make it a more wearable. If it was me, I'd get enough fabric to make a sweetheart neckline.

Stacy Enzmann Or just adjust some straps and wear (sew) a slightly longer tulle skirt in the same or a similar colour underneath to make it longer!

This is such a breath of fresh air! I get tired of always hearing that keeping an item of clothing past a year old is crazy. 3-10 years is much more reasonable to me :)

That cream colores dress is SO beautiful. Then again, I'm the girl that would wear on a regular day to justify keeping it.

You are such a fantastic person, Lucy! Once upon a time, I commented on one of your videos talking about fast fashion.. I deleted it because I'm too anxious of a person to feel like I've been confrontational but the fact that you touched on that topic and your entire demeanor towards picking meaningful clothes that you intend to wear and keep is so inspiring and refreshing. Just like you said, a lot of "trend" pieces fade and become dated quicker than most.. but your beauty and simplicity in style is TIMELESS. I love content like this!

I loved this vid it really encouraged me to get started on sorting my winter ❄️ clothes to put up or give away/sell. I was blesssed with a lot of new summer things this past year so well guess I will have to see about that. I lost weight so there is one H&M dress that I love but now is big however since it is tank style I can actually alter it so I am definitely keeping it as it is so plain but lovely. I enjoy clothes you can either 👗 dress 👗 up or 👗 dress 👗 down! Great vid! ♥️💗

Lucy, maybe add straps to that dress. Its so beautiful. You could find a nice cardigan to go with it.

I love watching your process for these wardrobe switch outs. I can't imagine all the thought that goes into deciding what to keep and what to sell, and the thinking ahead needed to figure out what outfits will go together. At the risk of sounding like a very stereotypical American, I have no such thing as "different wardrobes" and don't put much thought into my everyday outfits! Where I live we have hot humid summers and very cold winters, so clothes for me have always been about utility and convenience! Appreciate you sharing this with us, perhaps one day I will be as fashion conscious as you! :)

I LOVE THIS VIDEO! 😍🤩🤗... I have a tip that can probably help you..what I did to make more space in my small closet was to switch all my hangers to velvet hangers, you can get a big pack for cheap, they are slimer than the plastic ones and the clothes dont slide off Great video by the way!! 💟🌺🌹🌻🌼

As always your beautiful and I loved seeing this video. I did a closet clear out as well back in March and it was amazing the amount I got rid of as well as how hard it was to let some items go. I understand wanting to dress more youthful as I am the same way. Hi from Texas! 👋🏻❤️☺️

I love it when you post these videos!!! I relate to you so much, our styles have followed very similar evolutions. As a teenager I was very into gothic/victorian styles and mini tulle skirts too haha (and I followed you almost 10 years ago when you were wearing them!). Now at 28 I feel things are too young for me also. I only kept one of those skirts for nostalgic reasons but I wonder if I really should. Funnily, I don't have a problem wearing maxi tulle and flowy skirts haha. I think for me, it's the length that's the problem.
Btw I would put on a casual or denim jacket over that special occasion summer dress! That would help dress it down and allow you to hide clip on straps under it. Then just wear it to dinner or something! It's adorable!!

You're definitely making me want to go through my clothing. I need to because I've ultimately run out of room in my dresser. Perhaps I should do that this week haha.

I know, your not growing out your bangs but you've done it before so can you make a video on tips and trick for it. I'm trying to find a good way to put my bangs in a ponytail, currently I'm just putting a bunch of hairspray on it with a headband but that's not the best thing so I could use some help, thx💙💙

Hey Lucy, I am a silent viewer. Been watching your videos since a long time now and I feel the same too about the clothes. It's so nice to hear something like this from a person like you, it really shows how humble and realistic you are. Highly appreciate that! ❤️
Also on a side note, I am from India and I have one thing to say for you. I always feel like you resemble a famous Indian actress, Deepika Padukone. There are so many similarities between the two of you! She has also made a debut in Hollywood in the recent past. Any fellow Indians out here who feel the same? 😄😋

Great video as always. I love your thought process in terms of what to keep and what to get rid of. It's very common to donate clothes that you don't wear any more but can't sell (at least here in Canada). Is it common to donate old clothes in the Netherlands?

    • @Loepsie

Yes! You can either take the old clothes to a charity shop or drop them in one of those recycling/charity bins

Hi Loepsie! I have a little bit different type of question. Do you have any tips for bangs that were cut a bit too thick? I have recently cut my bangs, because yours are gorgeous and i wanted something exactly like this, but mine are way to heavy. I would really appreciate if you could answer my question. Wish you all the best :)

It's a bit of a lengthy process, but the next time you trim your bangs you could try to only trim the part you want to keep (a smaller triangle in the front) and slowly grow out the excess in the back. Or just grow it all out to chin length first and then try again :)

How about "saying goodbye" to that special occasion dress with wearing it one last time? Maybe you could film a beauty beacon or style revival video for it. It would be an evening look but I feel like it's a nice sorta gesture towards the dress haha :D

It's actually refreshing to hear a young woman express some level of desire to dress tastefully... What is your opinion, Lucy, concerning fashions that encourage the "let it all hang out" mentality? Also, do you ever shop at thrift stores? Do you ever donate your seasonal stuff to a thrift store?

    • @Loepsie
      @Loepsie  6 років тому +1

I strongly believe in everyone's right to wear whatever they want/feel good in. That being said, I can't deny I silently disagree with some fashion trends, very revealing ones included.
As for thrift stores, I believe I shopped at one twice in my life and have never sold anything. I don't currently frequent them, in any case!
