- We're fully in spring and it's about time I switched out those knitted sweaters for light, flowy dresses. In this video I'm going to go through my wardrobe, put away all my winter clothes and bring my spring and summer items back out. I'm also going to do a bit of a declutter and see if there's anything I'd like to sell or donate. Enjoy watching!

My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

For the clothes you find unflattering but like for other reasons... the prudent thing to do would be to get rid of them and replace them with a better version.. like the black sweater.. you said it was unflattering but easy to grab and put on and you like it for that reason... so.. buy or make a more flattering version of it, rather than suffering through the bits of it you don't like :)

It's so hard to find skirts, dresses, and shorts that are not too short as soon as you have the audacity to move around a little bit. I'm convinced more people would wear slightly longer clothing if it was more easily available.
It feels really good when I hear UA-camr or other people who need so many clothes and costumes to have clothes they love and wear from years back. That's less waste and practical.
But I'll never understand the fast fashion trends where people don't wear an item after just wearing it 2-3times.
That poncho would make the perfect cover-up for the beach!!! :D
When I went through my closet and tried on my skirts, I asked myself the exact same thing.
Hoooow did I war such short skirts???

I would love to see a video on how you use an item of clothing as a pattern! I have several pieces that I’ve wanted to do that with, but don’t know how to get started!
When you try on your clothes that you wore when you were younger, you really realize how much your taste has changed and how much older you are now. I have lost almost 100 pounds so needless to say i got rid of ALLOT of clothes but have replaced some of them with smaller and more colorful items. :) As creative as you are some of those items you are thinking about getting rid of you could re-purpose them. Like that silk poncho you could cut it and make into a skirt possibly I love the fringe on it. Just a thought.
Hello! You can sew a piece of fabric along the bottom of the dress to make it a little longer. For example, use lace of the same black color.
I just came to comment the same thing!! I've also been known to toss a ruffly petticoat or thin float skirt on under a short dress in transition seasons.

Yeah! My idea was a underskirt as well because she could wear it underneath all of those skaterskirts. And if it's a nice skirt she could wear it on it's own as well :)
I hope she does this and also making the floral jumpsuit into a top as a new DIY/mending video.

I have a similar silk poncho as the one you have from Zara. I don't wear it often but when I do I wear it all the time. I wear it on those hottest summer months (living in Finland that means max two month period). I use it to cover up on day time as I burn easy but also love to be outside on summer and have few dresses with shoulders showing. But it's also perfect for those late summer evenings when it's not superhot anymore, but still hot to stay outside. I've had one for those occations for years now and still love to wear it for those times. For years I was getting rid of it, but nowdays have accepted that it's not worn long period of time every year, but few short months, almost every day on those months. Loved the video ❤️

The powder pink shorts would go pretty well with the silk poncho. If you got a nice lace bralette or a simple sports bra it would be such an easy summer outfit for lounging around in the house
When you find things that are too short but you still really like, you could always try adding a trim to the bottom.. or maybe a ruffle in a similar colour/fabric or you could even add a pop of colour or fun print to it?

that everywhere.
Hehe I still have that exact H&M dress but in navy blue, still going strong, still no holes. I don't wear it much but it was my go to for comfy office clothing when I had an office job. Amazing how long they lasted - probably like ten years!
This is the motivation I needed today! I am doing a clear out and I am finally getting a new mattress today as my old one is twelve years old! Happy spring cleaning!

Have you considered adding a band to the hem of the dresses you feel are too short? A band of color could be just the thing!

You can add lace on the hem of black dress with flowers to make it longer. it has lacey bits on the top so it'll look lovely
YES I love these videos!! And yeah, it has been such great weather out, I have not gone out at all but I wish I could go to the park safely. I might declutter my wardrobe this weekend too and I'll keep my eye on your insta. I was hopeful when you mentioned getting rid of your vintage blue dress, but then you said it small for you so it will be far too small for me. I think the bow will make a lovely hair accessory!

Oh, the dress you said you wore to Elfia is gorgeous! I die!!! I went through a wardrobe declutter last year and I was so happy, until I realised that I had barely any usable tops left. Might need to restock on some before summer starts.

if you didn't already get rid of the green dress with the white rick rack, make a pattern from it first then you can have one that fits you better
For pretty dresses and blouses velvet hangers can help. They are more soft.

The black bodycon is really beautiful n basic, you can layer that in so many ways that it won't feel short, you can wear stockings and boots in winter

I don't really understand the "Holiday Clothes" category. What makes that an occasion to not wear your normal clothes?
I don't hike up mountains, help out with gardening, or lounge on beaches in my normal life. I also don't intend to do any of those in my beautiful handmade dresses or vintage outfits when I do engage in those activities 😜 Different clothes for different purposes 🤷🏻♀️

She mainly only wears shorts that are longer.(i really pay attention to her style cause i love it. Her scouting clothes r a bit diff...just anything that can be dirty.) I prefer shorts that come half way down my thigh almost or longer, and skirts/dresses that come right above the knee or longer.
I am 29, 30 in sept. And sometimes when we get older we prefer to cover up more. Not every female, but some.
ALSO...skirts/dresses that are short r much diff than shorts. Skirts/dresses can fly up and show stuff...shorts can not...unless they r booty shorts...but she doesnt wear those...nor do i.
I can see now that you are from a City.. No Rain is terible for pants! There will be Less wegetables and Such. It is not a nice spring...
Pretty sure she's aware of that. But she lives in the Netherlands which has a lot of rainy days sooo... I mean, I loved the nice weather as well but I'm still glad it started to rain today because we went without rain for like 6 weeks (during April it's insane).
