Welcome to the world of VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci who I know will seriously blow your mind Jen. He is the bass singer but has a 5 octave range. You need to check out a lot of his solo material as well such as Headless Horseman or Sixteen Tons. A good next song for Voiceplay would be "If I Were A Rich Man/Girl" which is a Fiddler On The Roof/Gwen Stefani mashup
The groups has gone through some lineup changes since this video. If I Were a Rich Man/Girl is their latest members lineup. Another one of theirs to check out is Zombies vs Hillbillies - Survivor where they join with another excellent a cappella group Home Free, who also has a bass singer with a 5 octave range.
We knew you'd love it! The guy singing Oogie Boogies part just released a version of House of Rising Sun that is amazing. Look forward to your reactions!
They did "What's This" & "Kidnap the Sandy Claws", too! All great as well as their other covers and Geoff's solo bass covers. Love your energy. Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole!
Ha ha, you didn’t notice that the bass singer, GEOFF, went from singing down in the depths of hell all the way up to a much higher and brighter voice. It’s hard to believe that it’s the same person, I hear he has a five octave range! That must’ve been about two minutes and 50 seconds into the video.
They have done four songs from The Nightmare before Christmas. "What's This" when Jack discovered Christmas Town, as well as "This Is Halloween" and "Kidnap The Sandy Claws". They also do a lot of movie medleys, "The Little Mermaid", "Moana", and "Frozen 2". Enjoy! ... Guy
Welcome to VP! This piece highlighted Geoff, but every member of the group is fantastic. Earl Elkins left last year and J None joined the Navy earlier this year. Cesar de la Rosa joined them this summer and they are featuring other artists until the fifth is chosen. Try Tennessee Whiskey, Carry on my Wayward Son, and Warriors.
Welcome to the world of Voiceplay!!!! They have done 4 songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas as well as some really good Disney medleys (Little Mermaid and Moana). They are really theatrical, and seem to really love what they do. Their version of Your a mean one, Mr. Grinch is another really great one. Their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci has also done some real good stuff on his own as well.
Welcome to Voiceplay, Jen. You will probably never leave their channel. I would suggest Just Sing with the captions on to introduce the group and all their former members and collaborators
Their version of This is Halloween is amazing, they've also done "What's this" and "Kidnap the Sandy Claws". The lead for this song is Geoff Castellucci, the bass. The one who plays zero is Layne Stein, the beatboxer and arranger for this song. The one with the beard is Earl (high tenor), the bald one is Eli (pronounced "Ellie") and the other one is J. None (baritone).
Firstly I am loving your new headphones!!! Hi Hi Jen. The bassist name is Geeoff Castellucci.. he has a 6 ocrtave range without pushing.. the guy is inhuman, and he does some solo stuff you might wanna look at where he sings his own 6 part harmonies with himself.. look at his cover of Blackbird by the Beatles or 16tons by ernie ford for example.. but when they come together as voice play you get amazing wonders like this or ' My Mother told me' ... I am so glad you found these guys Jen! Much ♥ and tons of respect lady!!
Voiceplay is amazing and I"m so glad you've found them! Not only are they all super talented, but they're very theatrical in their productions. They really get into whatever songs and roles they're portraying. Not to take anything away from any of the members, but the star of the group is most definitely Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci. He's the bass of the group, but he also has a 5 octave range. He's got a lot of solo stuff on his own channel you should dive into as well. I'm really looking forward to following your journey with Voiceplay and Geoff!
Yeah, they have a whole NBC Playlist. One of their latest is a short of "Magic Dance" from Labyrinth. I'm REALLY crossing my fingers that they do more Labyrinth songs if it gets all the love from other fans that I know I have for that movie.
I get goosebumps too. There's magic in Geoff's voice. 🥰 Welcome to VoicePlay! They are such a great acapella group. Check out their Moana Medley and Little Mermaid Medley, or any of their videos really. If you want to hear more of Geoff's deep tones, watch his 16 Tons.
And this is why voice play and home free are good friends in a capella because Tim and Geoff have worked together so many times in the past to perfect thar craft.
Jen As others mentioned, lead singer of this song, Geoff Castellucci has his own channel. He does covers of songs from Blackbird to Misty Mountain Cold (The Hobbit). It getting back to the holidays starting with Halloween - Geoff and Voice Play has songs on Halloween. By the way, Santa Claus was played by Geoff's brother in law I think....
So happy you got to this one Jen and looking forward to what you think of "This Is Halloween", but there's another one that needs go hand in hand with Nightmare Before Christmas and that's the fact that they made a cover of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion "Grim Grinning Ghosts"! Definitely need to check that out to as you enjoy the new rabbit hole
Oh I have a funny feeling VP and I will be great friends soon! I LOVE ANYTHING DISNEY RELATED!!! Thank you for the suggestions! They’re on my list!!! ❤️
Also Layne the beatboxer is one part of Pattycake Productions with former Voiceplay member Tony, their Villains Lair series is FANTASTIC if you want to know what REALLY happened after the Princesses like Snow White etc got their happy ever after
this is my fave followed by their iteration of This Is Halloween, next month i am pretty much gonna be listening to Voiceplay on the regular, to get more into the spirit of the season.
They have done a few covers of songs from the Nightmare Before Christmas which you should check out! They coverd "This is Halloween" and "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" amongst other songs that they have covered which you should also check out!!
Not only did they do This is Halloween, but they also did What's This? and Kidnap the Sandy Claws. I they put out a new one every Halloween. Another favorite of mine is their version of Grim Grinning Ghosts.
In my opinion, there are currently ONLY three serious acapella groups in the world - without a specific rating - "Pentatonix" - "Home Free" - "VoicePlay" All three are spectacular - with extremely good songs and covers.
Voiceplay have a whole slew of Halloween songs, including several from Nightmare Before Christmas. Kidnap the Sandy Claws and This is Halloween to name two others.
Sadly, VP has experienced more turnover than the other top a cappella groups (Home Free and Pentatonix.) Two of the five singers in this video have departed. One has been replaced, and VP is making frequent use of guest performers. JJ, you are about the right age (like my two daughters) to have been a big fan of Disney's "The Little Mermaid." Your third VP reaction (obviously, "This is Halloween" is #2) should be their "Little Mermaid Medley!" They brought in soprano Rachel Potter as a guest to handle Ariel's parts, Geoff (painted blue) is Ursula, and Eli, J. None, and Layne handle the other characters -- including Scuttle! It is DELIGHTFUL! ua-cam.com/video/zJVhVFRknTU/v-deo.html
I believe that one of performers left for military service. Earle one of original performers left, then he returned for a video called Beyonce/Destiny Child 's Survivor with their guest singers and friends, Home Free.
You've definitely seen it before, you were singing along to the background singers as well as Geoff, and you cant have known every part was coming lol.
There’s a guy named Job Cozart who does brilliant stuff on his channel (channel is called ‘Paint’) and he has a Disney Halloween mashup with Voctave that you would LOVE.
Lols. Probably the only time I've seen a reactor get gobsmacked by the full production and not that extremely low E1 Geoff drops at the end or the overall quality of his bass vocals. But, yes, check their work out. Lots of good stuff.
You have now hit the Trifecta, Pentatonix, Home Free and Voiceplay. Voiceplay is amazing, as is some of Geoff's solo work....like 16 tons, The Headless Horseman, House of the Rising Sun, Blackbirds etc...Also for Voiceplay, check out If I were a rich man/woman
Voiceplay has done many great songs get into it. Here's one, Your a mean one Mr Grinch (it's great) Geoff Castellucci on his own has done alot too, Far over the Misty Mountains, sixteen tons, House of the rising sun. You should also listen to Misty Mountains Cold by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. Geoff Castellucci is Bass singer for Voiceplay and Tim Foust is the Bass singer for Home Free (Tim and Geoff are friends - Tim helped Geoff with learning how to sing deep Bass) Hope you enjoy the Rabbit hole that is A-Capella 👍🍻😁
New sub when I saw Voiceplay. Hope you do the other 3 songs from Nightmare Before Christmas that they covered. What is This?, This is Halloween, and Kidnap the Sandy Claws. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is VP. I can honestly say that I have not found one song that I have disliked of theirs. I love theater and their videos are always very theatrical. You should also check out Geoff Castellucci's solo channel (He's the bass) for his version of the Headless Horseman. As far as VP goes I always recommend Queen in 5 minutes, The Little Mermaid Medley, and Carry On My Wayward Son.
If you liked this Voiceplay in you have to watch Voiceplay This is Halloween! Also check out the bass singer Geoff Castalucci and his headless horseman song
I’m doing This is Halloween 1st! Then I just found out they did my favorite Disney movie (The Little Mermaid 🧜♀️) 😭 so after those I can place this one on my list!
Love this song. Love it a lot. That said..... ....where is the reaction to The Warning's new version of Enter Sandman??? Thought you'd be all over it by now.
Jen you need to react to voiceplay “wicked”!!! It’s amazing!!! Also you really need to check out voctave “o come all ye faithful” and “Disney love medley” featuring Kristen from PTX.
When it comes to: Learning my people with good big hearts ♥️ be limitless. Don’t limited your life or Knowledge. It doesn’t matter what color you are: white, black, Chinese,Mexican, etc. be limitless.
It was just lovely seeing the wonder on your face listening to VoicePlay for the first time 😁. Please check out Geoff's new cover of Monster Mash - just in time for Halloween 2021 🎃.
Yeah, that's a wholly appropriate first reaction to VoicePlay. They always blow me away with their theatricality, and their sheer musical skill. There isn't a weak member of the group, though sadly, both Earl (the one with the beard) and JNone (the one in the leather jacket) have left the group - Earl over a year and a half ago, and JNone a couple of months back to join the Navy choir. Still, even as they've been going through featured guest singers, they've been delivering outstanding work. They've even added a new permanent member after JNone's departure with Cesar De La Rosa, who has just blended so well with VoicePlay. He really feels like a good fit. One of the things I absolutely love about VoicePlay is that they deliver phenomenal work with just such a... big old grin on their faces, letting you know that they are having fun, and making it easier for you to join in on the fun. I will give you fair warning that their latest video, Hoist The Colors has been... quite rough on the reaction community from what I've seen XD At least two reactors that I've watched have, at one point, gotten up and had to walk away from the camera for a bit XD In any event, welcome to the world of VoicePlay, I have no doubt that you are going to enjoy the living daylights out of it.
Check out their rendition of Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean. Our My Mother Told Me, I'm a Survivor with Home Free. You won't be disappointed.
If you like this long haired man with insane low voice, please react to all his covers . And his name is GEOFF CASTELLUCCI (AKA GEOFF FREACKING LOW BASS SINGER CASTELLUCCI). Sorry for my english, i'm from Argentina
@@JustJenRx You and my daughters! (They wore out a VHS tape of "The Little Mermaid.") The vote was predictable -- the big girls went for their generation's favorite, and so did the little girls!
One of the best song to introduce you to Geoff Castellucci is the Ooggie Boogie song ."This is Halloween" is a great choice for your next song. Now if you want a bit of Disney for Halloween. I would suggest the Geoff Castellucci solo" The Headless Horseman". And for Hanukkah Voiceplay's If "I were a Richman" and at Christmas you definitely want to hear the group's rendition of "You're a Mean One Mr.Grinch."
Kidnap the Sandy Claws is anonther in this style. Also This is Hallowe'en. Equally good.
Welcome to the world of VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci who I know will seriously blow your mind Jen. He is the bass singer but has a 5 octave range. And that one is the 3rd one (as far as I know) he's gone x4 on us. You'll see what I mean when you watch the vid.
Geoff Castellucci is who you mean
Geoff Castelucci, bass, on his channel did the Headless Horseman.
Start with Sixteen Tons. Trust me it is worth it. It is his best "this is what I do" music video.
@@leechowning2712 i was going to comment the same thing
he not acutaly a bass just has a bass range
They did "What's This" & "Kidnap the Sandy Claws", too! All great as well as their other covers and Geoff's solo bass covers. Love your energy. Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole!
